Agree with this except about being totally shaky at the back. Yes Stephens is weak in the air and frequently loses his man but wtf was Gabbi doing trying to jump in front of Kane and Stephens? He shouldn't be anywhere near there! The contolled passing out of the back when under pressure was however excellent

This is without doubt our best staring team. He should pick that and stick with it and hope they can regain confidence in time. That team playing with motivation and confidence is good enough to beat all but the very top teams, and maybe give them a game too.

I was there at that Watford game. Got in late and had to stand with Watford fans. Had to keep moving to avoid embarrassment. Despite everything I've still not seen a more inept performance!

We had no option but to defend. Arsenal are so good at keeping the ball and excellent movement. We defended very well and should have had at least one more goal. So much unnecessary negativity on here. Agree on JWP, PEH and Stephens. However, Lemina should be in there somewhere and I would like to see Gabbi with Austin (who lasts about 60 mins at best).

This is very good for those that live abroad but how about those supporters in the UK somewhat remote from Southampton who have no chance of getting a ticket? Any gatherings in South Devon for instance?

I do not understand how Fonte believes he will be better off at West Ham. Maybe a couple of grand a week for 2 years but not much more. He will be playing in a back three whereas he has been used to playing alongside an excellent partner here every season. I think it will end in tears.

It's very much like Burley's days. It is impossible to predict his teams. OK, some are interchangeable without altering anything very much - however, players need to develop an understanding with each other. None of these players understand anyone else in the squad!

Spot on Old Nick. Fonte was given a contract extension and has been offered a further pay rise. If he really wants to spend the next two years on someones bench then good luck to him. If the situation is as stated by him he should play no further part for Saints. Take whatever money is offered and move on. (Yoshida has looked quite good this season!)

So why did they send me an email?

Having been invited by the Club by email to order tickets on Friday (I have a customer number) I was told today that the Liverpool game was sold out! Did they really sell that many tickets over the weekend?

I object to ALL foreign ownership except for the likes of the Liebhers who have proved to be genuine in their dealings. There have been big problems elsewhere with change of name, change of stadium name, change of colours etc. I'm happy as we are. I'm not fussed about Champions League, if we eventually get there fine - if not that's fine too - we are still Southampton F.C. , The Saints, and we play in Red & White stripes at St.Mary's Stadium. If anyone tries to change any of that, they will be in big trouble!

It is odd how opinions differ so much! I thought Southampton dominant large parts of the game particularly in midfield. The difference was a quality ' creator' and a quality striker. Boufal may prove to be one but none of our strikers will be the other. Until that is solved we will rarely beat sides like this, however much possession we have.
