Maybe we will sing a funny song about it like we did for Lee Barnard... No?
-
Just shows that things have moved on in this division... But also what belief and confidence that you are a proper Premier League team can do. Some of those players went on to drop out of the league, but at the time they believed they were good enough and so they were. Confidence is such a massive thing in football. Our current Saints team lacking in confidence vs our current Saints team brimming with confidence would be a rout.

I did notice on the highlights that just before Wigan's goal, Crosby (I think) looked like he was talking Shaw through some tactics, I wonder whether he was just due to come on at Left Back or further forward.
-
Having watched the highlights back I feel a little better, certainly on another day we could have won that, and we weren't as bad as I came away feeling. Like others though, I like the 433 451 in theory, but we need better wide players if we're going to play like that with Rickie leading the line.

You say penny pinching, I say not spunking all our money away on one player.

Hmmm, four of us went to City but one didn't. Do we wait and try and get all together in the second window? I'm probably over thinking it as always.

Lee Barnard to Bournemouth on loan - Confirmed

This got sung a few times yesterday. -
Or....give him more than just one game to adapt to the new role?

My head hurts, not seen a bunch of fans look so proud and happy after a defeat. The lads erased any doubts that they can compete at this level. We were about four rows from the front, when Lambo scored the place erupted and I emerged from the carnage to realise Ricky was celebrating right in front of us! Quality.

Holy crap. Are you joking? Has Adkins earned no goodwill these past two years? If he doesn't know what he's doing how the **** am I going to Man City tomorrow just two years after we welcomed Plymouth Argyle as our opening game of the season?

I really don't understand why still can't see how this works. We are in the Premier League now, but we are still far from the most attractive proposition around for a player. We will have targets, but other, richer, more established clubs will also have the same targets. Sometimes we will be able to convince the player to sign for us early (Rodriguez, Clyne, Davis, Cork, Fox) but others will perhaps want to keep their options open, or maybe the selling club have to sort something out before selling. As such, if we want that player we may sometimes have to wait. In the end sometimes that deal will come through towards the end of the window (Sharp), or perhaps we are forced to give up on our primary target in the end and take a more risky backup option (Hooiveld), either way if we are waiting it's because there is something worth waiting for. It's really not that difficult to understand, is it?

Every transfer window in the last few years has been the same.... Weeks and weeks of nailbiting, gradually thinking the club don't have the money/don't have any ambition/aren't trying hard enough before, yep, sure enough it all sparks into life with a few days to go and most if not all of the fans worries are sorted. Don't panic, it will be fine.

Excited. F*ck being fearful. This is what it's all been building towards so sod being scared about it, going to City next week and whether we win, lose or draw I will just enjoy the fact we are back. Whatever will be, will be.

Has anyone received their Man City Tickets yet?
Barry the Badger replied to m735's topic in The Saints
All four of ours went to one of the other people on my order, helpful. -
It was, but sometimes it penalised the attacking team by moving the ball too close to goal and making the free kick harder. A better system might've been to allow the attacking team to place the ball wherever they liked within a 10 yard radius, or something along those lines.

Steve De Ridder "does not cut ze mustard"
Barry the Badger replied to Jonnyboy's topic in The Saints
Probably, but Richardson is a dickhead apparently because he isn't Nathaniel Clyne, or something like that. -

Excellent news. My girlfriend was diagnosed AML a few years back so I've been following his progress pretty closely, honestly the treatment is f*cking brutal, she came through it though (twice) and hopefully this is the start of Petrov's recovery.

Confirmation on loyalty points / Man City away tickets
Barry the Badger replied to The Kraken's topic in The Saints
Lower Tier it is for us then. Cheers. As it happened I looked at Upper Tier and didn't seem to be able to book four together already! If that's the case it's really selling quickly. -
