That's a good question! I would say, yes! He's still as good, if not even better as the 2007 video. But! His club, Brann Bergen, has had a dip of form from 2007 to 2010, when they sold Huseklepp. I think, they relied too heavily on him to carry the team, and it backfired on them. This had a natural impact on Huseklepp, as he was playing under enormous pressure. Anyone, with just a little insight into Norway, knows that Bergen is not the same as Norway :-) I think, he went to Bari, expecting more of the same, and found out that he wasn't as highly rated as in Bergen. During this period, his performances playing for Norway, has been very good and consistent. This indicates, that as soon as he's not the "star" of the team, he shines and plays fun and entertaining football. This is good news for Saints, as he wouldn't be the "star" per se, rather another cog in a machine consisting of several good players. Which again is something he's not been used to so far in his career.

Good read. Much appriciated.

Supposed you could compare him with Guly, but with a better capability of a winger, with a striking option...... Am I making any sense?

Huseklepp is definitly a very good striker/winger. Played his best at Brann Bergen (same club as Claus) as wide man in their 4-3-3 system. There seems to be bit of a problem regarding the transfer from Brann to Bari. Apparantly Brann hasn't been paid the entire sum. A sale of Huseklepp could see some controversials around sell-on clauses and so on. Regarded a better player than Morten Gamst Pedersen here in Norway.

QPR / Puncheon deal may still be on ...

That's a winner in my book!!

I'm in two minds about this deal. First of all, £15 mill reported for an almost 18-year old with no experience other than Leauge 1, is just crazy. Having said that, I'm happy Saints are on the receiving end of that amount of money. It's a solid piece of business given his injury record and all. I'm also a bit gutted, as I would have liked him to become another Saints legend. Now he falls into the category of players that got away alongside Walcott, Bale, Surman, Bridge etc. But as this is Saints, you kind of get used to have these talents leaving the club. On the other hand, it's nice to see a hefty transfer fee being paid, as it softens the blow.

Puncheon has clearly demostrated he doesn't want to be part of what NC and NA is building at Saints, so get rid of him ASAP.. and he can take Forecast with him.

Football is back.... Huge win over Leeds in our season opener... AOC getting sold for a reported £15 mill.... and all the transfer targets in the world to look at... ..and this board is coming back to life with good threads (not this one!)

Peter Madsen now plays for Brøndby in the Danish First Division, been on loan last season at Lyngby. Alexander Østlund got relegated from the same division last season with Esbjerg. Egil Østenstad got fired at Director of Football at Viking Stavanger.

no.

There is a time and place for irony and sarcasm. With this thread, you have just spit in the face of the entire people of Norway and on democracy in general! Only a blithering idiot would start an illogical thread like this on an irrelevant message board like this to further his cause!

Great! Well done!!! Now move along and play with your little toys!

Sorry, been away from this site the last few days - been busy finding out if any of my friends are amoung the dead, happy to say, all have survived. Norway is in state of shock and grief now. Very emotional scenes at Oslo Cathedral today. The King and Prime Minister Stoltenberg gave good and comforting speeches. More and more details are coming through now. Nightmare stories from the youth camp at Utøya, more and more information about the madman and his background. This seems to be the work of a single right-wing extremist, who had sympathies with most European right-wing elements. His own personal crusade was against the Norwegian Labour Party, but the entire country has responded with a big "no" to this. This was an attack on Norway and democracy. The general feeling here is one of defiance against his motives and the entire right-wing community. His visions are only shared by a few silent minority. But at the moment grief and sorrow are prevailing. The death count stands at 94 with 17 in critical condition from the shooting. 7 are declared dead from the blast, but all buildings have not been searched at the moment.
-
Slight correction: Norwegian Police now confirmes 7 dead and 2 badly injured from the blast. The situation at the camp is still unclear. Unconfirmed reports point to 4 dead.
-
This is now turning crazy! A few hours after the blast, a person dressed as a police officer, open fire at a political youth gathering on an island near Oslo. This is still on-going at the moment and reports indicate that at least three youths are hit.
-
Knight Ridder?? I'll get me coat!
-
Reports are coming here now, all unconfirmed, that the target was the Ministry of Oil and Exploration. Apparantly a car bomb.
-
I'm living in Oslo.. Heard the blast, but thourght it was thunder. Police have cordoned off the city center. So far 8 people injured or unknown status. Everything is a bit chaotic here at the moment.

TBF, I'm enjoying the discussion on our midfield tactics and line-up. It's good to see how different we see the team and the tactics, that should be played.
-
That's a very offensive midfield. Would require a lot of covering from our backs, as neither Chamberlain or Lallana are defensive minded.
-
Most of this sounds a lot like what's been coming from our friends down the road, me thinks.
-
Watch the press conference then :-)
-
Looking at our current squad, what would you say is our starting 4 in midfield? My bid: Guly - Cork - Chaplow - Lallana
-
I stated that as "apparantly". Not too sure myself, only relaying a rumour.
