My thoughts exactly. A 120 quid shirt to celebrate 50 years since we won anything. Some little gimp in marketing is slapping themselves on the back for this brilliant idea. Nice shirt but just laughable and embarassing they're trying to milk something that happened before the majority of our fans these days were alive. @Colinjb you're at the front of the queue though, right?

Why do we seem to look for the wrong things in players? Goalkeepers that cant save shots but are good with the ball at their feet. Defenders that cant defend but can play out. Full backs who cant defend but can put crosses in. CDMs who can pass but cant tackle etc etc. It's all very well being a nice footballing team, but you go to be able to stop the other team scoring as well.

It started for me in 1992. I was looking to get into football as i'd heard it was going to be cool again and i needed a club to support it never occurred to me Southampton had a premiership club back then. I a game with Saints and Manchester and straight away i was hooked and went down to the club shop to buy the kit and never missed a game on TV for the next 13 years. In 2005 a mixture of surprise family birthday parties and my then girlfrend and mate being Arsenal fans meant i watched them more and got gifted an Arsenal kit for my birthday. Luckily by 2011 i had ditched her, had a bit more time on my hands and started being a fanatical saints fan again, never missing a game on Sky OR BT up until 2023. I'm pretty busy at the moment though so only really free 4.30pm sundays plus tuesday and wednesday evenings so only get to really watch premier league and champions league games at the moment, luckily for me my second teams Chelsea and Real Madrid are doing pretty well so get to see them a lot at the moment.

People forget he's still very young for a centre back, only just 22. I think there's a good player in there, he's struggled in this ridiculous back 3 like they all have. We've done our usual thing of throwing in a young player without any leaders around them and expecting them to swim, this club never seems to learn. In defence you need an experienced leader, we dont have one and haven't since Fonte left and it effects everyone around them. It isn't just coincidence that we've had some many centre backs who on paper look good signings but look hopeless soon as they join us.

This third choice, non playing goalkeeper isnt exactly a new thing though is it. We’ve had Stuart Taylor, Willy Callero and Joe Lumley in this cushy role for the last 10 years or so. ir was pretty clear they were backing Baz this season and thought he was “fine for the championship” with Ramsdale still officially a saints player signing a goalkeeper permanently as number 1 was never really going to happen. Mccarthy will probably leave as he’s out of contract in the summer and Baz and the new guy will fight out for number one. They’ll be desperate to get Ramsdale off the payroll in the summer so we will 100% bring a new glovesman in and a new third choice as well. Which I’m sure there shall be another meltdown about.

Actually it doesn't. For all those screaming how terrible it is you dont thrash athletes to death for 11 months of the year, they dont work on their fitness mid season unless they're coming back from injury or need specific improvements. It has been proven time and again that after a tough period a rest or deload period for a few days actually has a significant enhancement on performance. It 100% much better than getting them in for a beep test or thrashing on the training ground like some of you jokers are suggesting. Some of you wont like it because we're on a bad run but facts are facts.
