  1. Delap vs Arsenal relegation season
  2. Think people need to calm down. This deal may very well still happen. All parties are obviously keen so lets just wait and see. If it doesn't happen then it's not the end of the world. As we showed on Sunday we've got plenty of quality in the squad already.
  3. Sharp against the skates. Viafara's 2nd and Rasiak against Derby Fonte against Brighton and McGoldrick against Preston #onthepitch
  4. Get the feeling this will drag on until next week. Bologna are playing games IMO
  5. They said it was definitely happening an hour ago. Who knows what's really going on.
  6. I'd be surprised if De Ridder starts another league game for us. If we sign all our targets he might not even make the 25 man squad
  7. Not like we've struggled to sign plenty of great players over the past 3 years is it?
  8. Very few top flight teams play 442 now. 4231/4141 definitely the way to go.
  9. Actually thought he played really well yesterday. Didn't look comfortable on the left in pre-season, but much better yesterday
  10. Proud of all the lads, great showing. Was expecting a hammering after the 1st went in. Never fully allowed myself to believe we would win, even when it went 2-1, so I wasn't really that gutted when they went ahead again. Still, the celebrations were class. Loved doing the Poznan right next to the gobby City fans after both goals.
  11. If you think Guly had a bad game yesterday you don't understand football
  12. Apologies if posted before, someone just posted this classic on Twitter [video=youtube;h-yBhoc75UY]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-yBhoc75UY
  13. Here's a better translation from http://www.football-italia.net/23561/saints-start-again-ramirez Bologna put a stop to Gaston Ramirez’s move to Southampton, but Italian media report they’re starting negotiations from scratch. There was chaos on Friday when the Uruguayan announced there were “only details” before finalising the transfer, but Bologna President Albano Guaraldimade it clear “the offer was not considered to be adequate.” While Ramirez’s attitude and that of his agent have infuriated the Rossoblu, it is now claimed they are prepared to start from scratch with the Saints. It’s reported that last night Southampton called Bologna to apologise for the confusion and confirm their intention to do things by the book, so talks begin again on Monday. The price-tag remains the same - €15m for 70 per cent of his contract, so not including a commission for the agent and the 30 per cent still owned byPenarol. Bologna want the cash upfront, but this could be sorted out with payment ininstalments.
  14. Still think this one is more likely to happen than not. All three parties seem very keen. Bologna are just playing games and trying to get the best possible deal A bit of this would be nice
  15. Not his best game not his worst. He helped set up the first goal and was involved in a few other good moves too
  16. My report/player ratings http://www.thesaintshub.com/saints2-0wolves.html
  17. Don't forget season tickets for 2004/05 went on sale from March 2004. At that point the mood at the club was still fairly good. The FA Cup final was still fresh in the memory and we were in mid-table with an outside chance of making the European spots. Had people known what was about to unfold during the summer then I suspect numbers would have been a lot lower.
  18. Seems to be some confusion over the score. Some Saints players saying on twitter it was actually 10-2, while someone else told me it was 8-2. MLG could be wrong yet again
  19. Sounds like a great signing. A couple of Palace fans I know reckon he wouldn't look out of place at a top 6 Prem club.
  20. You can believe what you want mate. Loads of the stuff he posts is wrong. Everything he posts comes from other places first. There are loads of fake agent accounts of Twitter with lots of followers, doesn't mean anything. People are desperate for transfer gossip and are gullible enough to believe anything. You could set up a twitter account and copy what Alan Nixon and James Nursey have said and have thousands of followers within weeks.
  21. LOL you do realise he's just some 16 year old kid who copy and pastes stuff from elsewhere. He knows **** all.
  22. Exactly my feelings too. Big reality check that one.
  23. How could I forget Charlton from Boxing Day? Had only arrived at the Antigallican five minutes before it was called off. Hartlepool on a Tuesday night was decent the first season (2009/10), but rubbish the following.
  24. Rotherham away Carling Cup 2008/09. Miserable Tuesday night, only got to the ground a few minutes before kick-off. Terrible game, terrible ground, terrible view, second best from start to finish. Only highlight was Stern John's goal. Sad thing was it was so predictable. We always used to cave in to lower league teams in the cup. Think I'm right in saying that was Michael Svensson's last game. Not the best way to bow out Agree about Colchester and Tranmere. Swansea from 2008/09 was another shocker too.
  25. Southend on a Friday night was quality. Great night out afterwards, top weekend. Ipswich away from the 2008/09 relegation season was also brilliant. Really thought we'd stay up after that one. Worst aways- Notts County League Cup 2006/07 Preston 5-1 and 3-1 midweek defeats Colchester 2006/07 Swansea relegation season Hartlepool 0-0 on a Tuesday night Most games from the 2007/08 and 2005/06 seasons Rotherham in the cup 2008/09 A few of the games at Swindon too
