England World Cup Squad - Lambert, Lallana and Shaw included
Convict Colony replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
Working on the assumption we will be **** no matter what I've worked on the assumption if its a choice between and older or younger player I've gone with the younger for experience ahead of euro 16. Can't put too any players in who haven't played before so that explains why the man u rejects are still in my squad but I would not pick jones, smalling or welbeck if we had another 6 months before it. Hart Forster Foster Johnson Cahill Jagielka Baines Shaw Clyne Jones Smalling Gerrard Henderson Lallana Sterling Chamberlain Carrick Cork (need a proper DM if gerrard gets injured as the rest aren't) Wilshere Rooney Sturridge Lambert Welbeck -
The reason we seem to hold onto the ball so much is that with the whippets we have at our disposal in our midfield/attack J-rod is the only one who can make fast runs off the shoulder for the quick direct ball from midfield (where as liverpool have sturridge, suarez, sterling, coutinho). I am sure someone could find out but that explains that he is probably the player with the most offsides in our team as he is constantly on the shoulder waiting for the quick release ball the rest of the team are trying to feed him (may also explain why he's top scorer). Now add 1 fast striker and 1 fast right attacking midfielder into the mix over the summer and stick adam in the middle and I think we will see significant increase in direct scoring opportunities on the counter attack or from deep positions. Currently if J-rod wasn't free for that quick ball thats when we see the midfield push up and the oppo's defence constrict and have the congested zone at the top of the box making us all frustrated and making it look like we are trying to pass the ball into the net. Oh and we are a tweaked version of Biesla's philosophy which is different from Pep's use of it as we play more vertical balls and crosses and look for quicker transitions into attack (hence everyone piling forward if we clear a corner etc). Here is a good article on Biesla and Poch comparisions - http://eplindex.com/37849/marcelo-bielsas-tactical-influence-mauricio-pochettino-tactics.html

Man riding down mountain on bike - mental!!!!
Convict Colony replied to Spudders's topic in The Lounge
Should of added that I've got mad respect for these dudes as their lines are crazy, I can't even go around the local forest single tracks here without getting a flat or finding a mountain uphill for 4km's. Am sure some have seen this but the Valparariso downhill in chile is sick. [video=youtube_share;xIe6hYAdw_I] -

Awesome and Jack Cork most amusing on the interview afterwards on the Everton appeals. -
Big Vic is immense since he has come back in, he could probably stop sunlight if he wanted and with cork getting out of more tight spaces than john holmes dong I'm liking this pairing, pity jack can't score in a brothel.

Gaston was training last week according to the pic's but looking at this weeks he isn't in 1 photo. Lots of the kids in the shots though so maybe expect to see a few on the bench.

Well done baz your back in the game, let battle commence

Always nice to say **** off to the journalists and bigger clubs who either make up **** or think they have the god given divine right to get other teams players. Thank god there is an early match tomorrow so this forum can get back to criticising our players, questioning the board and manager. I don't think I have seen Bearsy make so many sensible posts on 1 thread.

This........ has to be the post with the most icons ever

Well I am not gonna work again unless I fancy it, I might start something online next month to give me something other than gym, playstation and saintsweb to do.

That would be awesome, maybe Alps will give it a go or maybe we can get GS to do it to stop him wearing out the start new thread button.

Ok a couple from a couple here, some are very doubtful but then again I would of said getting one of Serie A's top scorers last summer was also unlikely. La Liga: Rafinha Alacantra on loan at Celta Vigo from Barca, plays AM left mainly but being linked with the big boys, will probably go bayern to join his bro and fill in occasionally for Robben. Antoine Griezmann plays for Sociedad and is a 23yr old frenchmen, was being linked with Liverpool but I think they will be upping their budget now and don't think they need anymore AM in their current team. Eredivisie - (Great Value League) Memphis Depay 20yr old winger playing for PSV, has a full cap already, 12 goals and 7 assists already and rated at 5 mil according to transfermarkt. Quincy Promes, 22yr old winger playing for twente, has 11 goals and 8 assists already, again has played once for the national team and is rated at 3mil.
