  1. Not the first time we've been linked with him actually.
  2. I interviewed Rick Wakeman a year or two ago. Try getting in touch with him via his website, he's a great guy and always happy to talk.
  3. I feel compelled to point out I've never booed a Southampton player. Ever. I'll never do so either. I will however call it as I see it. As for Guly, I can't understand someone who fails to see that the guy isn't very good sometimes. There were all these threads started by holier than thou people with the title of something like 'Lay off Guly' because to them, pointing out that one of their blessed Saints was rubbish on one or two occasions wasn't supporting the team. He had a bad ratio of good to bad games. Simple as.
  4. I have only good memories about the guy from his loan spell, would definitely welcome him back.
  5. Well despite having the sum of **** all to spend in the transfer window, the start of the season has been very encouraging. Man City 1 - 1p Tottenham (Community Shield) Chelsea 1 - 6 Tottenham Tottenham 6 - 1 Man City Valencia 1 - 2 Tottenham (UEFA Super Cup)
  6. He scored the 20 goals and was replaced by Saganowski if memory serves, not sure it was because he had a bad second half of the season, more the fact he wasn't playing. I could be wrong of course but that's how I remember it.
  7. The man who epitomised Burley's 'favouritism is better than ability' approach. I often laugh when I remember hearing that at Derby and Ipswich he got them playing good football, when my abiding memory is of Kelvin Davis whacking it up to Rasiak who would then head down for his strike partner.
  8. You want players with very high team work and work rate attributes in those positions. Personally I never buy anyone with less than 10 in both of those, for any position.
  9. McGoldrick was an inspiration in as much as no matter how bad you are at football, there are always some people willing to give you a chance. I can remember some utter moron giving Kenwyne Jones stick for the entire 90 minutes of a game - even telling him not to get a drink whilst there was a stoppage in play because in his eyes, he didn't deserve it. Kenwyne by the way is off to West Ham, if you're to believe the papers.
  10. I interviewed the legend that is Rick Wakeman a year or so ago, and he informed me that in the midlands there are two brand new record pressing plants, so I would suggest based on that, yes, it's coming back. I'm 23 and have been collecting vinyl for a few years. Got some original Dylan that I'm very proud of.
  11. I don't like Liverpool. Tough to support England at Euro 2012 then! Never mind, should be a good tournament. Germany v Holland. Awesome.
  12. At 1:14 in the Wolves game you can hear Noddy Holder shouting in that superb voice of his 'Where's he going ref?!'.
  13. The Derbyshire Arjen Robben with words of wisdom there.
  14. Bad news. Dirk Kuyt has signed for Fenerbahce. Damn. Where's our ambition? etc etc
  15. Remember him? Once tapped up by Liverpool as he was so gifted at such a young age, now he's been done for drink driving, plagued by injuries and couldn't even get in Leicester's side last season. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2012/jun/02/daniel-taylor-michael-johnson?INTCMP=ILCNETTXT3487 Such a shame. He really was a good young player only a few years ago.
  16. For a couple of hundred grand or so, yes.
  17. Ipswich love discarding promising players don't they? Trotter to Millwall on loan then permanently, Rhodes for next to nothing to Huddersfield...
  18. Would be a nice touch. Hope Mr. Cortese has room for sentiment on this one occasion (this is not in any way, shape or form a criticism).
  19. Ridiculous. Win the Champions League and I get a measly £11 million to spend. Had to go bargain hunting, signed Luca Antonelli, Vincent Kompany and Santiago Arias. Managed to get a few squad players to take wage reductions and got an extra £4 million out of it. Meanwhile, City spend £20 million on one player at the drop of a hat. Title challenge seems a tough ask.
  20. I thought this thread couldn't get any worse. I was wrong!
  21. Good to see Pizarro, Ruud, Bostwick and Dawson in there, you need Marco Verratti too! Won the Champions League with a 3 - 0 win over Chelsea, very comfortable, finished second in the league. Now to rebuild my defence.
  22. I just offered him top dollar, key player status and the promise of more money. Seemed to do the trick. If you're in the Championship that might be the problem. With three games to go, my Spurs team are second, a point ahead of United in third, City are eight points clear with a massive goal difference. They've conceded only 18 goals all season and scored nearly 120. Sadly my defence needs working on, we concede a goal a game on average. Title appears to have gone, and any hope of a late run was destroyed when we blew our 2 - 0 lead against City at home, final score 2 - 2. Lost in the F.A Cup semi-finals to Cardiff despite being the better team, that hurt. Won the Carling Cup but it's no consolation really. Champions League semi-finals, beat Bayern 6 - 2 at home in the first leg but with a depleted squad I'm worried they might well do us 4 - 0 at their place. Final is likely to be against Chelsea, if I lose that I'll never hear the end of it! So the plan is, win the Champions League, spend all the money on new wonderkids and an entirely new back four. Should probably have strengthened the defence last time around, but I saw the world's next greatest player and spent £25 million on him. My bad!
  23. Definitely a P.E teacher. His English leaves a lot to be desired - where instead of were, for example. Fantastic idea though, asking an academy player what it was like back then. Look forward to more.
  24. Can Rangers afford to make the journey down here?
  25. You'd never get away with a flare over here, not with that stupid tart on the main forum who complained about the one on the pitch when we beat Coventry. But yes, I've seen them a few times. They need to have giant flags that ripple as well.
