  1. I thought it was a Fluminense player … they have a Matheus Martins? Anyway, it’s all just agent speak (blatant attempt to flush MLG out 😉)
  2. Seriously? That’s amazing. Veronas beautiful so I can’t wait to see it show cased in all it’s glory. I assume that’s the plan for the show? As for the other thing … no way am I going there, with you of all people Anyway, bit of a good goal that, wasn’t it?
  3. Bring up the World Cup thread expecting people to be waxing lyrical over the sort of World Cup goal that typifies Brazil but no … Might as well have turned on the breakfast TV instead
  4. I agree, a central clock and a set time would make sense, but until that rule change I support these extra minutes. The champions league final was a joke - I reckon we got about 3 mins of football in the 2nd half of extra time with all the ‘injuries’ suffered by Madrid players (one cb alone went down 3 times). Anything that discourages the practice of pretending to be injured to waste time should be supported IMHO
  5. Day 3 and I reckon everyone’s wall planner predictions are already f*cked.
  6. Stadium beer ban confirmed. This really is a great World Cup for the fans!
  7. Good summary, all pretty reasonable. As for which three … 3 worst squads imho are AFCB, Forest and Leeds 3 worst managers are AFCB, Leeds and Everton 3 worst front lines are us, Wolves and Forest 3 worst defenses are Forest, Leeds and AFCB Current bottom 3 (so most precarious) are us, wolves and Forest. So by my reckoning Forest most likely, Everton least likely, and just about AFCB and Leeds going but us and Wolves will easily replace one of them if we don’t sort out a forward. Of course we’ll sign ‘someone’, we just really need to get it right
  8. Morgan’s got 4 in his last 2 but is a midfielder as far as I understand it? A number 10? If he’s adding goals that’s a good sign. This current crop (him, Doyle, Dibbling especially) is one of the few bright spots around the club right now!
  9. Yeah, but what was the xg in all of those? That’s what really matters
  10. Football fans and perspective, hey?
  11. Just back. Wow, that first half was something else. As bad as Chelsea first half last season. No one apart from Edozie got more than 3 out 10 for those 45 minutes. Dreadful everywhere. Better second half (impossible not to be) but over 90 mins I’d say a draw was fair. Which about sums up our level - on a par to a league one side at our home. Utterly depressing. And what on earth was that team selection and those substitutions about?? Was Ralph still there??? Nonsensical, players out of position, uninspiring changes, no youth. Admittedly they were made a bit earlier, but it was like nothing had changed. I’d imagined there’d be some freedom, chains unshackled sort of response. Complete opposite, more of the same from the bench and the pitch. Good luck Nathan, cos some of this sh1t seems seriously ingrained.
  12. Will the opposition field a full-strength team? You’d imagine all they want this season is promotion so I doubt they’ll risk anyone with a niggle. Hope it’s a good test and a comfortable win. And like a lot of the above I’m hoping to see 1 or 2 youngsters at some point tonight
  13. Agree. He’s not a “name” that seems appealing but we have no idea how they’ll turn out. I bet if we’d appointed Gerrard a year ago the fan-base would have been broadly supportive. I do have reservations like all so I’m not going to vote Yes, but equally I’m in no position to write the guy off with a No. I obviously hope it’s a masterstroke appointment.
  14. Having spent weeks delaying one inevitable decision, why are the board rushing into appointing anyone, let alone this person? If appointed I hope he’s wonderful… but we’ve got one league game (almost certain defeat whatever we do) before Boxing Day. That’s more time than the last prime minister had. Could they please calm the f down and actually work through some sort of process?? I am really concerned this will be a terrible appointment and don’t understand the rush!
  15. Our recruitment team have been out foraging for rare mushrooms and micro herbs. Sean Dyche is renowned for his sticky toffee pudding. Just No.
  16. Couple of opinions for what they’re worth Firstly I’m astounded Ralph is still here this morning. Shows how badly lacking in decisiveness our leaders are Secondly, probably linked to the above, our leaders probably feel like they let Ralph down badly with the striker situation. It’s not Ralph’s fault, it’s theirs, and we’d be far better placed if we had one (I still think Ralph’s time was done anyway) Lastly, we don’t need a manager by the weekend. Away to Liverpool and a league cup match are frankly irrelevant and free hits. Have a caretaker pick a side and let professional footballers perform with a bit of freedom. I’d far rather wait and get the right man
  17. To be clear, we should all be pleased with last nights result. A lot is wrong at the moment, and relegation will solve none of it so 3 points, especially at relegation rivals, is a good thing. However, it does not mean Ralph is suddenly the right manager as much as it does not mean we no longer need a new striker or better creativity or a better central midfield. These opinions are not mutually exclusive. I’m pleased we won, I hope we beat Arsenal too, but Ralph is no longer the right man to lead us (hasn’t been for some time) and last night hasn’t changed that.
  18. Turkish would love Russell Martin. Vegan, Buddhist, member of the Green Party. Ticks a lot of boxes
  19. FWIW I’d stick 3 up top and get them to cheat on (not) dropping back. Adams, Armstrong and AN Other from Aribo, Edozie and Mara. Quantity over quality so leave three threats up there. Id have three in midfield; quantity over quality again until Lavia returns. JWP and two from Stu, Diallo and AMN. Id rely on the full backs for width with cm to cover them when they attack. And should we somehow be winning with 20 minutes to go I’d replace a forward with a 3rd cb. Then come January I’d ask for the striker we all knew we needed in the summer and somehow missed. Essentially I think we need to play some boring sh1t to try and sneak some unattractive points and get a bit of confidence. Won’t be pretty but until we have a holding midfielder, striker and creative player we're pretty hamstrung
  20. Ashley Youngs scored a screamer to equalise. Watching this with Ings on the bench makes me think that his transfer has gone badly for him and both clubs. I’m sure we’d all be happier if it hadn’t ever happened! Still, that ships sailed so I’ll just enjoy Villa being terrible. Better than us, obviously, but genuinely terrible. oh, and lol at Mings - gave away a pointless free kick then left his man to head home unmarked.
  21. Are autistic hyenas famous for not having integrity?
  22. I’ve been in the Ralph out camp (reluctantly) for a few months now so obviously want him reply, but I’m confused why people think today will change anything. We were always going to lose badly today. I can’t see anything happening this week; think we’re either hanging on until the World Cup, or until we sort the replacement out in the background
  23. We wasted time turning up in the first place
  24. I know we’re going to get thumped, but still … wouldn’t you want to have some sort of attacking/creative option on the bench, in case we’re only a goal down with a few left? Theres enough sun spots for a Ballard, an Edozie, or even a Dibling. This is where I’ll never understand Ralph
  25. Being played completely out of position in a random team selection? Perfect preparation for returning to Ralph 😉
