That about sums up 83/84 for me. Being 17 at the time it was lively. That said, the 2nd season in L1 and the Championship season are my favourites. You've got to be very simple to be defending Yaxley. He pleaded guilty as he was bang to rights and the assertion that it's because he uncovered Muslim grooming gangs is beyond laughable. I'd recommend it to anyone. A fantastic wee city. I've been a few times, even seen Vicenza play myself. IIRC it's the wealthiest city in Italy, or 2nd behind Parma. I'm in the area next week cycling up at Bassano Del Grappa and I think we're basing ourselves there in October when we take the kids to Verona & Venice. Be brilliant to play a preseason game out there.

I've no reason to doubt this. Flying United into LAX. They fcked up on comp' when we had flights into NYC from Manc cancelled and had to travel from LHR. Ended up with 2 x $200 off codes, 2 x $300 off codes and €1300. We've used the $300 codes so flights come in at £150 each. We'll be using the $200 ones for an east coast trip. Yes we'll be renting a car. I'll have a look at Del Mar and La Jolla. Originally I had thought of staying somewhere like Oceanside but my missus would prefer in the city, or very close to. That's the sort of stuff she loves.

Now I've booked some obscenely cheap flights into LAX my Mrs has decreed that she wants to spend 3-4 days in SD and not further up the coast. The mess at Stoke was wholly avoidable but Hughes certainly does deserve to take some of the blame, as do those who sign the cheques. A senior member of their team said a major mistake was they believed they could stop being Stoke and lost their soul/heart and focus. For various work related reasons I spend quite a bit of time at the ground and training complex and there has clearly been issues for a while which have proved to be the perfect storm this season. Could Hughes prove to be the solution for Saints? If he wasn't allowed free rein in terms of transfers then maybe as I still feel the collegiate approach to be the best moving forwards and as The9 has alluded to, how would he react to the straightjacket of tactics that perhaps the previous two managers were subjected to? What we can't afford is a repeat of the total BS of the last couple of appointments so I'd sooner get Hughes in now than another 4th rate nobody in August as I simply don't trust to board to appoint anyone better. Perhaps we don't need a coach, as the last two were hailed, but a manager as Koeman was. Just my 2p worth.
