I think we need to give Lambert a break here. He puts a real shift in up fron tleading the line. He had a game on the saturday in the cup and then plays on tuesday evening. On the other hand Wycombe had lovely afternoon off as they were already out of the cup. its no real supride that they were stronger in the last 15/20 minutes than the saints in my opinion.

Ok fair point FF, We may not have caught the fish yet but at least we have bought a dirty great big boat with an effing huge net. Lets just hope someone works out how to get the thing into the water.
-
He has to be banned from the cup game. IF preston recalled him this week he wouldnt be able to play. Its only an agreement between the clubs not the Footy league

ON Sky Sports it came up as 82 Mins Richard Lambert made me laugh, unless of course that is is real name

Paul Hart Just sacked and lefted the ground

Personally I thought was a decent manager and was starting to turn decomposed sows ear into err slightly less decomoposed sows ear. Obviously the said sows ear was full of inbred tossers before and after his involvement. Overall I think the guy talked very credibly when interviewed. anyway no sleep lost zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz -
Well I have seen wotter at about 4 games this season and not all in the diredctors box so yes I think he probably did buy his own ticket.

I have to say there are some real F(cking Numpties that write on this board that wouldnt recognise a proper footballer if they smashed the ball in thier face from 10 yards.

Oh Come on FFS what you are suggesting is the very thin end of the wedge. Video evidence at the time would correct a wrong decision that effects the overall result of a game. Was it over the line, was it a penalty etc. If you are going to do that then what about a throw in being given the wrong way that results in a goal What about a offside decision that leads to a goal. What about a foul that was given that leads to a goal that when looked at again was actually a perfect tackle. what about a keeper getting a fingertip to a ball and a goal comes from the resulting corner. But upon inspection from a million TV angles turns out not to be a save / corner at all. Start with big decisions and where do u stop. Video evidence. No No No.

As a kid I used to get taken to fratton every other week by my dad with my bro and sis. My dad supports saints and pompey. However my sis and I have been season ticket holders for years now at the dell and SMS and hate the skates more than anyone. At the time it was good just watch footy every weekend as a kid.

I was thinking about this Henry handball and it occured to me that the calls for video replays goal line cameras etc etc to ensure all the key decisions are accurate is a load of old ********. The two problems in football IMO are 1) Teams with too much money in the premier making it such a one sided game where the small club can no longer hold thier own and challenge the bigger clubs. 2) Everybody gets to analyse every single incedent within the game due to the large number of camera angles. The common denominator for both problems is TV. I remember the good old days before TV (and Sky) infitrated the beautiful game. If you wanted to watch footy you went to the game and every incident within each game could only be seen once and at the same splt second that a ref has to make a decision. Blink and you missed it. Footy was a game of opinion, was it in? was it offside? was it a penalty? No bull**** analysis after proving either way. Simplicity made it exciting, ban sky throw the cameras away and leave footy for the people that love to watch it live and enjoy the unpredictability of our great league. Well I guess I can dream

I spoke to killer about 18 months ago and he seemed to think lancashire was a really good prospect. the lads confidence here is shot to pieces and is unlikely to turn it around. He needs a fresh start where he can start again imo. Maybe he will come back to haunt us one day. Good luck to the lad

Perhaps he has more than one trick and maybe he did show them all off on Weds. I didnt go Weds so i couldnt comment. However the games I have seen him play he is most effective when he uses his "chip and charge" move. He certainly didnt show his stepovers and other skills against Brighton, so I would ask why not? Im not saying he is a bad player because in reality he is a good player at this level but I feel unless he varies his play more its fairly easy to adjust your tactics (as brighton did) by doubling up and then his effectiveness can be limited. I also agree he is young and with coaching he will get better and add to his game. If he doesnt learn he will have found his level. personally I thought he was ok at best as he wasnt particularly effective as Brighton had him sussed. My comments on replacing him were based on this and I felt Papa and his unpredictability would open the brighton defence up. (which it did if I recall on a few occasion) I hoipe we keep Antonio but mostly i hope he adds to his game as he could be a really good player. Just not sure the natural ability (touch and ball skills) are there to take him to the next level but he is young so who knows.

Burley Sacked as Scotland Manager
wild-saint replied to the saint in winchester's topic in The Saints
yeah bit to be fair hes not even managed to make a pig skin purse out of a sows ear. -
One trick pony IMO. knock the ball past the defender and run like the wind. Btoghton doubled up on him the entire game ensurig he never got passed his man effectively removing him from the game. Suprised pardew left it so late to change him out.
-
Oh you are so right. I bet if we looked back through the match threads and pardew out threads Mr Glasgow Saint was out there *****ing. For me since the moment pardew walked into this club things have been improved and the team has moved forward day by day. Results were difficult to come by at first but in my mind there was only one way his team were going and that was up.
-
So he is too weak to be playing CB and he is hardly a marauding full backk, so where the hell do you suggest he plays ? Up front LOL?
-
I hope its MK Dons and personally I would insist he plays today

The measure of a great manager and a good team...
wild-saint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Do sense I the wind of change in your thinking from being particualrly negative to considering on how you will now how you judge whether Pardew measures up against being an ok manager or a great manager. Couple more wins Alps and I think you may be pinning a pardew poster on your bedroom wall -
Saints fans have every reason to be expectant in my opinion. I for one will be disappointed if we dont make the play offs and not overly happy with mid table. My reasoning behind this is - 1) Watching most games since the start of the season we are getting stronger week by week - personel and performaces. 2) analysing all the teams in the league I wouldnt swap our squad with any other bar none. There is only an argument for maybe Leeds or Charlton but its debatable either way. 3) As of this morning we are only 12 points from 6th with 30 odd games to go. So if i wouldnt swap our squad for anyone bar maybe the top 2 (maybe), in my mind means we are a top 3 side minimum. Top 6 is very much achievable IMO and as such I will be disappointed if we fall short. COYR Keep the momentum going and maybe we can start singing - que sara sara, Bring out Champagne on Ice, on Ie, we're going to Wembley Twice! que sara sara Optimistic maye but **** wouldnt it be great.

Gordon Watson. Oh GW scouts for Leicester. As for the benefit game MLT talked about arranging one and then it didnt happen because of time scales. Leicester were the team that he had lined up and that cam directly from MLT. So had no reason to doubt.
-
OK Just had a call. Leicester have agreed to let us have DJ Campbell. He is on 10k per week we have offered to cover 6k with leicester picking up the rest to get him off the books. Problem is he wants to stay at leicester even though they have told him de doesnt figure in thier plans. They have given pardew his number to call cambell to try and persuade him to join. Lets hop he manages it as he maybe just what we need up fromt with Ricky.
