Again, the problem is that being in the EU meant that companies just accepted dirt cheap labour from abroad, lowering wages for everyone and not bothering to train anyone else. The fact that leaving the EU may have contributed to less workers willing to work for peanuts just proves what a crummy deal it was for many people.

Fair enough. So seems a little silly to blame brexit for this situation then doesn't it. It's a poor government policy problem.

Adkins becomes even more of a legend.

Good results for saints. I agree with those saying our season has been better so far than expected.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the lack of hgv drivers and all the associated problems just showing one of the problems with the EU? The problem being that it was too easy to import a load of dirt cheap labour rather than training people and paying them a decent wage?

Yes I, have nothing against him at all. I just think his speech isn't as clear as I'd like (TBF Merrington has that issue too!) and that momentary period where I have to think about what he's said takes me out of the moment.

I'd drop him because Forster is a better keeper. -

Always possible but considering the reports from the last teams supporters it's not looking good is it. -

Oh dear. Sounds like Lyanco is exactly what was expected then. Still time to turn it around obviously but not a promising start by the sounds of things. -
Is it wrong that I find his accent a bit irritating? Sort of a major thing for a radio show.
-
Could he not just be on holiday? He's retiring at the end of the season anyway.

Hi Sue thanks for taking an interest. Making a small comment about certain forms of the rainbow flag being political (which it is) in one larger post isn't an example of being "so upset." I'm interested in the topic and will discuss it if the topic come up in order to express my opinions but I'm not upset in the slightest. Why would I be?
-
I'm not upset in the slightest. I haven't given it a second thought after writing this post. Odd that you would think I am.

Sounds like Bednarek did really well too. I'm pleased because it gives us options to ns at the back suddenly.
-
Yep. Can't be bothered to moan, it's an absolutely fantastic result.

I think it's great that women's football is seemingly more popular. My only real gripe is that some outlets like the BBC seen to be trying to get people to take an interest by tricking them into clicking on links by obscuring the fact its the women's game (they do it with women's cricket too). If they stopped doing that and putting it as their front page news item (even ahead of Premier league football) then I really would wish the sport well.

I just saw that. Bizarre. I'm watching the Leeds game anyway its been decent.

Absolute nonsense. My point has never ever been that racism is solely online, my point is that the abuse highlighted in the media is almost entirely from social media and that any episodes of racism in football stadia is normally dealt with incredibly strongly and I believe that levels of that have improved markedly (certainly from a few decades ago) and I haven't seen any evidence that it is any worse than in society in general. That doesn't mean that minorities in a crowd shouldn't be dealt with if racism can be proven. Inequality is not evidence of racism that's ridiculous. What evidence do you have of sports clubs tolerating racism? The only reason I've repeated some points is because some posters are making the same false claims repeatedly which need challenging and also people like you are saying I've said things I've never ever said like racism is only ever made online.

What a weird way to phrase it. "get used to female cricket hockey and football!?" it's not like saying its a bit annoying when it's not separated explicitly from the mens sports is going to make a blind bit of difference or seee any sort of change. Fwiw I agree with whelk, it's clear they've had some big talk about diversity and how they can push certain women's sports like football that the vast majority aren't interested in and some of the ways they do it like trying to deliberate conflate the mens football with the women's and lumping football together as one amorphous blob in the hopes that fans will just take whatever is on offer is confusing and a bit irritating. Like I said earlier it's really a minor gripe but it's a perfectly valid opinion to hold and I don't know why you're so annoyed at someone expressing an opinion. You're allowed to disagree and think it's great you know.
-
When I'm pissing about on a forum I should always caveat the opinions. The good news is I've never actually watched the channel since the first week it was on so I really wouldn't know what's on it anyway. Really not sure why they thought in this day and age they'd have any particular success on terrestrial TV, they'd have been much better off launching on YouTube or something like that.

You're a noddy Saintsweb poster.

I wouldn't base my opinion on a players ability based on 1 game either good or bad. I hope he's brilliant but to say he's head and shoulders above any other striker at the club at this stage is a bit silly.
-
Indeed. Good start but some people are going over the top based on a very short period of time.
