Bit of over reaction here Nick. Davis deserves the chance to play in the Premiership and lose his place if he can't perform provided we have competition. Bialkowski was no competition. Bogdan looked decent when he played here for Bolton and that's what I'm going on. If Davis was to be judged in the same way as you have judged Bogdan after some of the errors he has made in the past, he would be hard pressed to get in Salisbury's first team.

It wouldn't, many of the speculated targets are expensive, but unproven at Premier level. The real class is very expensive and I suspect way out of our salary expectations. Better to shop the best players we have played against in the last two years. With the possible addition of a couple of good foreign players.

Cortese took the only course available to him when he suspended Pardew and Downes. If Cortese makes the mistake of buying expensive and real class is very expensive we may well be back in the NPC next season. The spirit of this squad is still the backbone of any team we field, to get rid of Adkins after successive promotions would be crass. Norwich and Swansea showed the way manager and transfer wise and didn't pay silly money or salaries. QPR on the other hand chose the big name road and were nearly relegated. Last season Adkins organised a pre season that gave us a succession of wins for the first time in many years which ultimately was the difference in gaining automatic promotion. Liverpool, Aston Villa etc have shown that big names are no guarantee. The People have speculated rubbish for the last fifty years. Alex Pearce was out of order and hardly a confidant of Cortese. I'll stick to the OS as the official news confirmation of anything changing. I would like to think that Cortese will back Adkins.

I think that if anything could have caused a problem between NA and NC it could be signings made by NC. Falque was signed but I understand Adkins didn't see him play until the Leicester game, and significantly never picked him again.

Martin O'Neill left Villa because he couldn't see them progressing with the signing restrictions and selling the best players. Liverpool look as though they lack something teamwise and look like they need another overhaul. Unless somebody comes in and gets them in the top four they will be gone in the search for instant success. I think there is a bit of the poisoned chalice about both jobs. Lawrie McMenemy comes to mind with the Sunderland job. Pardew could be a target for LPL.

Because it is more than likely we won't score as many goals in the Premier. 45 is the average for a mid table team. The defences will be better and the forwards will find it harder so we will need goals from elsewhere.

The linesman got it wrong, Tevez hit Barton, so should have been sent off first. Barton retaliated and also should have then been sent off. I think if both of them had been sent off, Barton may well have not been so incensed by the unfairness of the one sided decision, and not kicked off. This poor decision may well have decided the result, consequently the championship.

I don't remember Davis so I can't comment but we need a central midfielder that can get beyond the strikers and attack the penalty area adding some goals.

The Eastern Europeans will end up the trigger for the collapse. No collection of countries ever worked for too long even under force of arms and this won't either.

I wouldn't argue with you as you were there. The SBS eye witness in the tender said that the safety boat was tethered and pulled down but not under as the attachment broke but the three crew were tipped out then one was nearly brained by one of the outboards as the boat crashed back down. He said he went back to the shore in the tender whilst the search was going on with Huk? the NCO that survived. I presume that was where he got his underwater information. He also said that the diver was also trying to tell the two (Chris & Jim?) to get back to the chamber but was snatched off by his communication lead tautening as the sub dropped so made for the surface, but he had a proper air supply. Apparently the three had a fresh water excursion the day before but nowhere as deep and no problem for them. That was interesting because he described a technique for recovering at night canoes or boats on a 100 ft line stretched from the bow of each craft with the sub's sonar tracking different frequency transmitters in each craft. He described it as difficult for the sub and the craft although there was guidance the angle of approach was anybody's guess. He was supposed to be picked up one night, the sub spotted them on the sonar but made a parallel approach and passed a yard or so away but the rear pax jumped and initially tried to catch the periscope but fell off. I'm not sure the club will want too many season tickets at a discount. They are pretty sure to nearly fill the stadium especially for the premium sides and nearest competitors at full price. They will probably make more money by keeping the season ticket numbers as they are.

Lot of varied experiences on here. It's very interesting reading. One of the SW members is the Captain of the BA 747 that lost all four engines in an eruption over Java in 1982 ish. He reads but doesn't post.

Airline Captain. Just read a lot. I did a four week round the world trip with an ex SBS engineer and ex SAS catering operative. The SBS guy Joined the marines and trained as an engineer was eventually invalided out with frost bitten feet in Norway, went back to engineering. The SAS guy was older and working for a catering company at Heathrow. He was very twitchy about his address and photographs. We used to spend the evenings chewing the fat.

The report I had was from an SBS on the tender above who was waiting for the three to finish then join the sub. He saw the inflatable pulled down but the rope mounting broke before the thing was pulled under. Apparently the first out went back to warn the two coming out but they didn't understand in the dark, so as he had no air he went for the surface, then they were blown off before they could plug their bottles in because the sub reached 110 ft and blew the tanks. The suit inflation bottles at that depth were almost empty because of the pressure at that depth so they weren't able to regain positive buoyancy so sank to the bottom (220ft ?) Takes a really special type to do that. The recess apparently in front of the conning tower and contained pipes etc which were moved to make room for a team to squat breathing from umbilicals, I understand the turbulence was unbelievable.
