  1. Nice sentiments and all but he confirms my recollection that clearly he was crocked yet his dad continued to play him in preference to Matt Oakley, along with similar strange decisions like not playing Phillips in the Man Utd game.
  2. OP - you've probably got it generally about right but two jump out as underestimates - Spurs and Chelsea. A couple of years ago Spurs had 22k on their season ticket waiting list and over 70,000 members. For all I know they've gone up since then with their recent relative success. Someone said Chelsea have been known always as the glamour club. That may be so but there is a major part of Chelsea's fanbase that has been priced out of going. They, like Tottenham, are also restricted by ground capacity.
  3. He doesn't drive, Kevin Bond does. If he got the England job he'd have to do far more traveling. What the Sky source said sounds just like Redknapp.
  4. Is there an argument to say that you can go up too soon and a season of consolidation in the Championship will give Saints a better chance in the PL? On the other hand, who wouldn't take promotion next season. It will be interesting to see how Norwich get on. Were we to go up next season, with Saints PL infrastructure and what appears to be sound management and financial backing I think we'd have a better chance in the PL than many of the so called yo yo clubs. Nonetheless, I doubt we'll go up next year, although I think play-offs are a possibility.
  5. Let's not be too critical. 1500 is 37% of their average home attendance, equivalent to Saints taking over 8000. A pretty good turnout I'd say.
  6. "There'll be a few additions in the transfer window," Adkins says, "but the good thing is we haven't got to go and bring a whole team in." Sensible approach. Must keep maintain the team spirit that's got us promotion but improve the team where needed.
  7. I suppose Huddersfield would prefer to avoid the mavericks, Peterborough but Huddersfield are bang in form, have shown they are mentally tough and I think they'll do it.
  8. Thanks for taking the trouble to come on here and offer your good wishes. Much appreciated and good luck next season.
  9. Skates. West Ham (if).
  10. Another telling statistic - Goals conceded 36, matched only by Brighton. "Defences win Championships"
  11. The game could boil over with Kettle in charge.
  12. Just tried buying over the phone and was told they can't sell any tickets because the computer system is down. "Try again in a couple of hours".
  13. Another word on the support yesterday. From my position behind one of the goals the noise from the East Stand was incredible. When Saints scored the whole stand erupted. It was quite a spectacle.
  14. If you look on Orient' OS they say no cash sales at turnstiles but tickets for all parts of the ground (not the East Stand surely?) are available from the ticket office under the West Stand or over the phone. I got tickets in the South Stand through someone on their database but he's not an Orient fan so there has to be a first time for phoning up and getting on their database. Worth a call.
  15. Ok lads, good effort tonight. Let's all shut ourselves down now and reactivate at Orient.
  16. It wasn't especially busy nor especially quiet, about right. The weather was fine so it was possible to spill out into the garden. It's a good option and it's where we're going once we get to Leyton.
  17. Don't buy off touts. Ring Orient and buy a ticket in the South Stand.

  19. Fonte.
  20. Just tried Orient's on line sales and our match shown as "unavailable" even although all other matches before and after 9 April can be booked on line. Could be they are tightening up their procedures to prevent Saints fans buying or could it be a temporary restriction while they carve out for seats for us?
  21. I think you'll win it BHA and fair play when you do. I do agree that there may be a wobble before that happens. The closer it gets to the finishing line, the greater the weight of expectation and that can weigh like a ton and inhibit performance. There's many a slip between cup and lip. Should you slip up Saints are probably best placed to catch you.
  22. It had to be that goofy dwarf who scored.
  23. That's disappointing. Despite Orient saying the allocation was a full allocation, let's hope they do make more tickets available. Their stadium holds 9,136. They normally get between 4 and 5k and their biggest league attendance so far this season has been 6,449 against Sheff Wed. No idea what allocation Sheff Wed got but some pay on the day tickets were available to them. If no more tickets are made available then I'll find a way to get in the home end.
