  1. This was not just the case of a camber centre to edges.... Usually a pitch slopes gently towards the out side to aide drainage .... Some like the old Yeovil pitch, slopes by even feet towards a corner (or one end)... but Exeters pitch although sloping towards the edges had areas that dipped and then rose again. The goal mouth at the away end was like a muudy bog. I am guessing the other end was the same but as i couldn,t see it properly from where I was i am only assuming... I lived in Exeter for some years and thye pitch has always been this bad... Cut up, and sticky uneven and wet.. According to the pre match annoucement they are looking to dig it up and add some drainage fro the first time in the grounds history!!!!!!!! So the pitch was terrible and Exeter are used to it... But alot of our players didn,t look up for it, as though they had other mathches on their minds. And if they are the quality we know they can be, they should have coped with it better..
  2. IMHO .... EVENTUALLY, I believe Antonio will be a quality striker. He is still very young, and more importantly, has received very little quality coaching as only a year ago he was in non-league football. He however has great pace, and undoubtedly a lot of skill...... BUT it will take time and good coaching.... Not fit for up front yet of course but in the future I can see him making a positive impression on the game in the higher leagues..
  3. The wife and I burst out laughing when we read that... :-) Salt and Wound comes to mind.
  4. what a stupid bleeding question.... All those moaning whinging muppets on here had better get a grip on reality. Over the last few seasons I as many other poor sods on here have paid for our season tickets. and been dished up with utter cr@p from a managment team that cared nothing for the fans... We have watched dire football by kids, loanees, and journeyman footballers... At last we have a managment team that give all the signs of knowing who the club is really about, The Fans. This season we started on minus ten points, and started with the remnants of last seasons bag of losers... we have progressed so far in the last few months, with good quality signings. True the last few matches have seen a drop in form, the transformation of the club mentality and ethos has been incredible. Please all you moaners and whingers out there get a grip on reality...
  5. Fair old walk from the ground, many more watering holes closer to ground.
  6. thanks for the above reply Ringwood .... Sorry if I seem thick...(my teachers came to that conclusion 40 odd years ago as well) but are saying that HMRC have no special status, so they want to shoot the sick horse now, instead of waiting for it to stagger on a bit more before it is shot by someone else later.... If a WU does occur, could someone step in and buy it at a knockdown price ( abit like us and start again) or is it more likely the assetts (ground etc.) will be sold to highest bidder for housing development or whatever...?
  7. If as the article states this Chanrai has security over PFC and all its assets, this must mean that in effect PFC have 'mortgaged' the whole club, lock, stock, and fish smell to Chanrai. But surely Gaydamak must have some security in the club, or does he just have a note promising to pay him £30 million. If they go into administration HMRC will still have first dabs on picking over the corpse. If the winding up goes ahead HMRC will again be the first to get their cut of whats left. To you legal people out their.... I am guessing PFC would be better in admin. than winding up because they could continue to 'trade' in some form or other whilst seeking a sugar daddy or agreement with their creditors. But how likely are they to get administration now they are so close to Winding up court day. Would a court take a decision that they are so far in the do-do that administration would just delay the inevitable and just go for winding up.... If winding up goes ahead.. How does it happen? Do they just have what is effect a big closing down sale?
  8. I didn't say I passed any exams... :-)
  9. Not neccesarily so... according to Echo he was annoyed, that is the only information we have. When I was being taught how to do exam projects, the important thing was to test your sources or information... Are they independent? Are they usually accurate? Is there any corroborrating evidence? etc. etc. In this case we have just one source who is not independent, do not have a good record on accuraccy, and there is no corroboratting evidence. 1 Thesselonians Ch.5 V.21 "TEST EVERYTHING"
  10. As understand it.... Gydamak is owed £9 million to be paid 31st Jan. Gydamak has acquired large portion of the land/properties surrounding Nottarf Krap. The money used to pay the wages over the last few months was borrowed using Nottarf Krap as security from a gentleman who has property developements as part of his portfolio. Pure speculation ... but .... with Gydamak owning the surrounding land and this loan secured against Krap ... This would if combined make a nice redevelopment site in a run down area of a run down city.... However if PFC is wound up the technicalities of whom actually owes Nottarf Krap could make a lot of solicitors a lot of money... Would it be in Gydamaks interest for PFC to go bust. It will be interesting to see if he forces his claim for his £9 million or not...
  11. From what I understand . T.D.E. were asked to ( and had agreed) to hang fire on the announcement of the money investment into staplewood (they would receive some sort of exclusive in return)... T.D.E. decided for whatever reason to renage on this 'gentlemans agreement' and splashed it all over the paper. NC is known for not suffering fools lightly, and so banned them.
  12. He can read?????????
  13. To be honest NC has not issued numerous statements. He has wisely kept his own counsel, and made the very occasional public interview etc. I for one dont think that NC will issue any sort of rebutal to Murray, why should he. The Echo is a pathetic provincial rag.
  14. Personally speaking I want 2 per mseason ticket, because I need at least 6 more tickets as well as my season ticket allocation.
  15. Am appalling at this twitter/facebook/etc stuff. But I personally find sarcasam, joking, winking thing comments etc doesn't translate very well in the wriiten word. Maybe he was just being funny.
  16. Totally agree....
  17. Did you notice on this website that 'POMPEYS NEW STADIUM' is followed by 'FANTASY FOOTBALL' ....well I thought it was a funny coincidence.
  18. As a slightly older Saint, who has lived through the good and bad days, I must be honest and say .... I still agree totally.
  19. Haven't read all of this thread, just scanned through it quick. But from what I can gather what we have is a load of b*ll*xs spouted by a local news paper, who cant get access to the ground/players due to their own stupidity. They then copy a thread from this very forum and print it in their cr*p rag. The Echo continues to swim along the bottom of the cesspool of cr*p journalism.
  20. I am a season ticket holder who has been to every round so far... NO, I do not work tedious 9-5, NO, I do not have a limited life, and if I had a girlfriend my wife would cut my nuts off.
  21. I didn't say I was educated just that I was musing. :-)
  22. Following my musings earlier in the season I thought now that some time has elapsed and the dust has settled over the ML purchase (thank you Mr Liebherr), and we can see how things are starting to pan out, I would muse again over our beloved club. Personally I was incredulous over a Billionaire buying our Club, and that after I was greatly fearing our club would no longer exist. We all dreamed ML would splash the cash liberally, and hoped SFC wouldn't be some plaything, like Mike Ashley at Newcastle massaging his own ego. But IMO it has fared better than I could have hoped. ML has been conspicious by his keeping to the background, and not seeking the limelight. He has appointed a very competent man to run the club in NC (who also keeps to the background), and in AP what appears a competent manager. I have heard people moan that he hasn't changed the catering or the beer contract etc. but to be fair the club was purchased, deep in the doo-doo, with about 10 mins to go before the start of the season. To be honest there were more important things on their agenda than Steak Pies and weak beer. All they could really do was to keep the status quo on non-essential aspects of the club and concentrate on the important things. Which brings me to what any Football club is about:- Football. As have stated in my previous missive, I know no-one at the club in any ITK position, so all I have to go on our what I see, and what I hear from you lot out there (which since the takeover has been slim pickings). On the pitch I see a wealth of talent, Old and NewWith hardly a duffer amongst them. ML has obviously opened his wallet, but someone has made some very astute observations and enquiries. David Connolly. Why did noone else see him floating about needing a new club to rebuild his carreer? Someone at SFC did. And as for the purchase of Lambert. Lambert is one of those strikers who is neither fast nor agile, but seems to be in the right place at the right time, and who knows where the goal (and his teammates) are. At the end of last season Lallana took some stick from a number of people, and its true he wasn't fulfilling his potential. But last season he was playing in a team that appeared to have lost its motivation, got into a losing habit, and started on a downward spiral. The same could be said of LLyod James and the other young members of that team. This year however wih the right coaching and encouragement, with good supporting players round them Lallana and James are showing what they can do. James, poor lad, has had too often to cover at Rt Back, not his natural position, but when he gets the oppertunity to play in midfield he too like Lallana can begin to shine. Papa Waigo, IMO has good some potential. He is lightening quick, and has quick feet, and he is alays willing to get back and defend. True he has a problem with offside, and even allowing for linesmen error, he is still offside too often. But, he only needs to beat that trap once in a match to turn the game around, look at Wycombe, where his running and layoff to Lambert set up the only goal. I do get the feeling however this constant 'offside' saga is starting to get to him, and the singing about it by the fans is not helping. Antonio.... A young lad with massive potential that until fairly recently had all his experience in non-league. I think he needs nurturing and coaching, especially considering the meteoric step up in levels he has obtained. All in all, I think you'll all agree, so far has been not a bad start to ML/NC era. To be honest before the first game of this season and a minus 10 point start, i would have been happy with a mid table finish. The fact that by Jan 1st we have oppertunity to be in top half says so much for the season so far.
  23. Boxing day is the English name for the Feast of St. Stephen (rememember Good King Wenceslas wandering around in the snow) which is 26th December. Christmas Bank Holidays are Christmas day and the first week day following it. In this case 28th December. But we have all argued over this for weeks now, I just thought I would try and keep it going up until new year. :-) and winky thing.
  24. Why is your birthday interferring with your ability to go to St.Marys
  25. Dry side...... Row G slightly to left of centre.... Still had post and downpipe restricting view... Good night all the same. Why when it so obvious we start scoring only when we play on the floor passing football, do we spend first half lobbing in long balls and putting high ball over?
