landford.saint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
. Thanks astrasri, Been on Shroopie, friends got boat moored up near Northwich but never been as far as Stoke. Looking good, Stoke, Manure, West Brom, must be more.... All London clubs are in ad served by tube, Etihad is also close I'm now informed. Away matches starting to get easier. Pity the Salisbury and Southampton canal never got finished. -

Old Trafford is one I can think of that you can get to by canal boat. There is actually a dining boat service on match days. West Brom like most of Birmingham is served by them, Coventry is accessible via canal, so is Brentford, but not actually PL clubs so dont count. Thinking of retiring to the canals soon so anyone know anymore Pl clubs with canals nearby. -
Now, I'm no expert, I've watch Saints for over 40years, but I was rubbish when I played, and would make a lousy manager, and I would say for most of the 30,000 who watch Saints that would be true. However, what do the players who play with Ramires week in week out think of him, the real professionals, who premiership status could depend on him. Well I have been told by one that they really rate him. He has a very quick 'footballing brain' that others have been finding it difficult to adjust to. I was told Lallana was the only one who was quick enough to be on his wavelength. It is just a matter of time to they become accustomed to each other, and then something special is expected. Time will tell. Personally watching him I think we have nowhere seen his best yet, we have since occasional glimpses, can't wait to see him when he really gets going....

Re:- BVI loan. Won't say who explained this to me when it occurred, but this is what I was told. The Liebherr family want Saints to be success full and self -supporting, but know this will take time to achieve. To this end theyhave allocated a sum of money every year for a number of years. Capital projects like the training and academy, are to be separately funded out of a totally separate budget. The BVI loan was taken out for 12 million to cover the transfer of Ramires, because it had to be paid in one lump up front rather than in the usual staged payments. The loan is for 12 months to purely cover the transfer, nothing else. It was loaned against future income, k owing that a further annual 'cash injection' staged payment was coming.

Problem is, due to there past/current actions/performances you can't vote for the 3 main parties, so that leaves Greens, monster raving loonies and UKIP.

I have only once seen Targett play. Has anyone on here actually seen him play regularily, I don't mean 10 mins on you-tube, either. I've heard rumours about how good he is but could someone who actually has seen him play please outline how good or bad he is, strengths/ weaknesses etc. thanks.

Yep. It was this clip I was watching. Absolutely brilliant.

Tomorrow is my wedding anniversary... But on this anniversary day last year Saints beat Coventry 4-0 to confirm automatic promotion to The Premier League. What a day. Just been watching highlights on you tube and it all came rushing back, When Jos got that third, it was at that point I finally knew we were promoted. Unbelievable day.

Heard this morning from Leeds supporting colleague that Billy Sharp was going there in summer £1.5 million. He said he saw it on some sky news thingey. If true, and I have no basis to wether there is any fact in this or not, I can see him doing OK there, and it's still up his end of the country.

Its got to be one of you lot. Even the blue few wouldn't believe a word of this.

I have a moral dilemma, I don't wish anyone any harm really, apart from Keith Chegwin maybe, but it would have been better for everyone if Ayatollah Maggie had never gone into politics. But on hearing of her death I cheered. The pain and suffering she has caused to millions is unforgivable. That we should pay for her funeral is despicable, are they going to pay for mine? No way Hose'. Let her family stick her in the ground and let God decide her fate.

Cyclists People who moan about people who moan about cyclists Teachers who say they're overworked even though they only work 9 until 3 and have 1 hour for lunch and work only about 30 weeks a year Cyclists People with no religious tolerance. Cyclists Have I mentioned cyclists. -
Listening to their new Chief Idiot In Charge McInnes .... In interview, avoided question that they had to pay more for club, and had to pay back over a period of time. Starting in debt already..... Also average crowd of 12,500 not enough to keep Skates FC solvent. Interesting times ahead for us nutjobs

Exactly. Her 'legacy' will haunt this country for many years. Her promotion of the moral that greed is good, is having its repercussions to this day. She cut money from education, law and order, health, and defence, She sold off public industries. My father worked for the CEGB at Marchwood. He said there were people employed there on menial jobs who would be employed elsewhere. But these people had jobs, had pride, and all that that entails. They weren't getting the dole, they were an active member of society. Society is more than pounds, shillings and pence, it's about hope, and care as well. Name one good thing that Maggie did. And don't come up with Unions or Falklands because those two fallacies have been dismissed more eloquently by people above already.

Le Fondre - No Goal & J Rod Should Have Been Sent Off
landford.saint replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
Do they show a different version of the match in Austria. I know they have a different version of 20th century history, so perhaps they do in sport as well. -
Manager at work with whom I always have a bit of banter with asked who we were playing today, when I replied QPR he said 'hope you destroy them, can't stand that cheat Rednap' . This chap is an Argyle supporter and has never wished me/saints luck. I know Saints fans don't like him much, but starting to dawn on me that other fans see him for what he is.

Micky Channons testimonial?

What he's trying to say in his half illiterate way is:- Looking forward to a Pompey away derby because moneyfields in the FA cup will be too small for a Champions league club.

Is it okay for Saints players to dive and cheat?
landford.saint replied to the stain's topic in The Saints
1. I do not like divers. 2. Rodriguez dived. 3. We won. 4. I am therefore in a bit of a conflict of morals, and will therefore try and self justify Rodriguez actions. Bo!!oxs I'll take the 3 points and suffer the mental anguish. -
Thought Sorensen was a Rt Back, could be wrong. (According MRs LS I always am).

Thanks.

Picked up a couple at St Mary's yesterday for Mrs LS and I, seemed to be a few left. As an aside driving up Saturday, haven't been to Villa Park in a long while. Anyone know if there is any parking near the ground or is it a park away and bus in job. Thanks.

Had one built in a modern house with one of those matchstick thin roof truss jobbiies. Inserted a couple of steel joist to support everything off and bingo, large room and ensuite.
