  1. As we all know the Ark of the Covenant is in Ethiopia where The Queen of Sheba returned to with here Israelli bodyguard, after visiting King Solomon.
  2. Likewise had not realised they were AWOL. Sure they have been about this season though.
  3. Mrs LS cant make it tonight and I have offered her ST so far to 4 family members free, no takers yet. Have 2 more football loving family members and are waiting for them to get home from work. If no luck will offer it on here.
  4. I was a Police officer in quietest rural Devon at the time. The amount of what we quickly discovered was absolute bullsh!t propaganda that even we down there received, through 'Police Sources' and even Police Publications was incredible. There was one article in a Police Magazine (through a 15 year memory time gap) that described vans full of beer at the side of the road to Hillsborough selling already drunk fans with extra booze. This and mountains more was the propaganda put out by various interested parties. Its no wonder that so many myths and inaccurate 'facts' are regurgitated, especially as time progresses. My own personal view is that like so many tragedies it was a number of small often unrelated incidents that built up into a situation, that IF the policing on the day had been better could have been avoided, and not led to the ultimately fatal mistake of opening the Main Gates. However if Policing/Stewarding inside the Ground had been good disaster could still have been avoided.
  5. When does a crowd cease to be a crowd. Does it then become a gaggle or group or meeting or huddle. Is there a numeric number when a crowd becomes no longer a crowd.
  6. Lived in East Devon for a number of number of years. Sidmouth, is most definately Gods waiting room. Seaton and Beer are full of Hemeroids (tourists, bright red...walk about in bunches...and a pain in the arse) only get lively in the winter when everyone else has gone and the locals haved time to enjoy themselves. Honiton is just a dive. By the way, Honiton is famous for its lace. However it doesn't come from Honiton but Beer where the tradition was started by survisors from the spanish Armada . Get a high number of unusually dark haired, dark skinned people from there so might be some truth in it.
  7. Got it Hammy. Writer is W B A fan and deliberately named lots of charevtors after past and present players. But main reference is to Halford Lane Stand the oldest stand at The Hawthorns.
  8. Exactly. And question 1 ?
  9. Watching a repeat of 'New Tricks' tonight, it started me thinking of Football related TV / Film questions. I'll start with 2 easy one's, and hopefully you wise people out there will pose some more brain taxing ones. 1. What's the link between New Tricks and a Midlands Club. 2. What's the link between Ian McShane, Saints and Wembley. Question 2 has nothing to do with Ian Macs dad Harry playing for Manure.
  10. The situation on this site is not helped by those messagers who have more than one name on this forum. I know of people on here with at least 3 names and three different personas. I have even seen a person on here arguing with themselves. That combined with people who just deliberately enjoy stirring up trouble, and you have an exaggeratted distorted view of peoples true opinions. A forum is not the place to gain a true feeling/reaction/finger on pulse assessment of peoples opinions due to the anonymity factor. When I talk to live human beings at work/socially/games I don't get this strong undercurrent of anti Cortese sentiment. It's only on here that trolls, mischief makers and other persons with agendas are so vehemently vocalised for or against Cortese/LM/MLT ETC ETC.
  11. £15 K. I have 2 daughters both with long term partners. Surely he meant £500 really. Please tell me did. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I dont know what they are smoking/ingesting but whatever it is, it certainly rots your braincells. Anyone have some they can share?
  13. Did you just give me a) an intelligent answer B) Bullsh!t C) a mixture of both. And who is Higg's Boson. Who does he play for and in what position? Your last reply went so far over my head it was like Halleys Comet.
  14. They also announced this week that despite looking for years no-one has found any 'dark matter' and that IT probably doesn't exist either. Which apparently throws another major theory out the window. I personally have no idea what dark matter is, but to the 'egg head' on the radio it was something absolutely devastating to a vital thereom of the universes workings.
  15. I am one of the lucky "so and so's" to have been able to take early retirement. I have a part time job, partly to keep my brains alive, and partly because its more than a decade before I can subsidize my works pension with a state one. I work part time in a Tesco's and it gives me opportunity to watch people. These observation have made me vow never to do the following:- 1. Wear beige. It seems that men when they reach a certain age can only dress in matching beige clothes. Trousers, jumpers, socks, shoes, shirts .. all beige. 2. Go shopping on a Friday morning. Despite having all week off they all descend on Tesco's on a Friday Morning. 3. Complain that the supermarket is always crowded. If they didn't always shop on Friday mornings they would find other quieter days of the week. 4. Stand examining a product for what seems an eon with trolley parked strategically across the ailse blocking all persons from moving freely. 5. Moan when someone has the audacity to move your 'offending' blocking trolley. 6. Moan. 7. Drive at 25 mph in a 40 mph limit, then brake when I see the 30 limit ahead slowing to 20mph. 8. Whilst driving at 25 mph brake violently every time I see a car coming in the opposite direction 2 miles away. 9. .... Anything I forgot.
  16. Got no facts and figures to back this up at my fingertips, but didn't NA spend quite a number of years at Scunny before joining us. And... Even then he showed great reluctance to move and was very proper amd respectful in his dealings with both club's. Personally I think he is just a decent chap who has loyalty and honour, and would 'do right' for any club he was employed by. At present he in addition has success, resources, and if rumours are correct, a good working relationship with his boss. If you were in his shoes, Would you leave?
  17. It depends where you live. Wayne or Waynetta, Shane, Sharon, Tracy etc are essential for certain areas of the city.
  18. Thanks Baj.
  19. Thanks for that I'll get one of my children to do itfor me when they come in.
  20. For sale Peugeot 106 Quiksilver 02 reg. In completely standard condition. Not messed about by all those boy racers. It is very tidy, and has just had new cylinder head gasket, cambelt ,lambda sensor and service. Head gasket was changed as a precaution because a slight leak was noticed. It didnt boil over, or fill the radiator or sump with mayonnaise. Cant link photos to this site but PM me and send me your email address and I'll send you photo's. MOT till May 2012. Daughter selling as she has purchased newer diesel. Good bit of service history with it. £1200
  21. I have the maths skills of a currently educated 11yr old. In fact I will be 66 in 2026.
  22. I think it disgusting pension age will rise to 67 in 2026. I will be 66 in 2066 so will have to work a year longer.
  23. To be strictly accurrate the main reason for longer life expectancy is public health. Better diet, better housing, cleaner air, improved sanitary conditions. Medical advances has very little effect on life expectancy as a whole. To a small proportion of the population it has an extremely positive effect but the numbers are so small they dont have much impact on the total population figures. However due to the decline in diet standards, exercise taken, etc. It is forcast that our geneneration will actually have a life expectancy greater than that of our children.
  24. Corps, thanks for your reply. Interesting the bit about Gaydamak owning the land around Nottarf. Are Tesco's really that interseted, because with the current debate on relaxing current planning regs. I'm sure that with their financial/political muscle that if they could see a profit they would act as soon as the new lax regulations came into force. Does Gay'k own enough land there to build a fair sized store including car park, storage, delivery areas etc?
  25. Corp ho. I like most people on fans forums take most of what I read with a huge pinch of salt and much scepticism, (this site included). So after 843 pages on here I am not really any wiser as to whats really going on down at the home of the blue few. Could you for those of us who support SFC and dont indulge in childish slanging matches, outline what is, in your opinion, going on down at FP. Who owns what, the carpark, the ground, the club etc. And do they in your view have the club at heart or are they just chancers, like so many club owners up and down the FL/PL.
