  1. Saturday is a time for Mrs LS and I spend together. Both ST holders in the Northam. We go into Southampton early, maybe do a little shopping, have some lunch together then wander slowly down to St Mary's for match. Afterwards we go for a meal together. Saturdays are about spending time together including our joint love of SFC. We attend a few away games together each season, Wouldn't have it any other way.
  2. I could say lucky she married me, but to be honest I'm lucky to have married her. To find a girl born within smelling distance of Notarf Krap who is such a avid Saints fan and puts up with me, i'm a very lucky man. Been married 27 years.
  3. My interests are family first. Lucky Mrs. LS loves saints too. Old Fords, she has a mk1 Escort ( a bit tweaked) and I a mk2 ford fiesta convertible (1 of only 5 known to be still roadworthy). Apart from that love the canals, hope to retire to a narrowboat some day.
  4. One of the most boring games of football I have seen in a long long time. You could here the crowd talking amongst themselves most of the match, and people were constantly getting up for food etc. Fielding couple good saves but kicking distribution very poor. Cork was solid but not exceptional against poor opposition. No one really shone, although Sturridge looked better than most. However nice to watch some live football.
  5. Cheers re: ticket office. Tiredness is I agree a cr@p excuse. Let alone the number of games FL teams play, look at some of the pitches (or muddy fields) we have played on the last couple of seasons.
  6. Mrs LS and I are thinking of pottering down, presume ticket office open today.
  7. When it was announced there was to be no installment plan, which Mrs LS and I had used to get our season tickets on, that first time was a bit of a financial stretch to purchase our 2 tickets. However everyone is now fully aware that the installment plan is unlikely to return so people should have no argument with the club this year, if they have not prepared. It's is a bit like saying that you were unaware that Christmas was coming. Has anyone any idea when the ticket prices are likely to be announced please?
  8. Leyton Orient I understand are run on a break-even footing. Partly I guess due to the rents from the flats in the corners of the ground. Now this is not strictly football related income. Therefore would this rent be included by the FL. In their 3 year test. If it is what is then stopping a club having some kind of totally unconnected income (engineering or diesel injection single rail technology) as an income for the club.
  9. I thought we couldn't get any worse in commentator. But yesterday (and his double act Saturday) we managed it. Experiment over, no more of him please.
  10. Against better class opposition, as in Manure and Blackpool he looked class. Against some of the cr@p kick and rush bully boys of league 1 he struggled. I can see him being a revelation in the CCC.
  11. Agree with singing about Chairman is weird. BUT. Our existence is because in our hour of need he introduced our club to a kindly billionaire. He has made mistakes as chairman yes, but those who have met him agree he is a nice guy who genuinely wants success for this club. AND due to his background on banking will ensure we do it on a firm financial footing. In the 2 years of his chairmanship SFC has won the JPT and promotion. Not a bad first 2 years in football.
  12. Had a word at half time with the Inspector in charge at our end yesterday. He said that (as we all could see) that those who ran on the pitch when we scored were Saints fans in the 'home' end who were "running for their lives". Also said that they regularily get trouble at Plymouth, much more so than Exeter and Torquay. I lived in Devon for about 15 years and can testify that Plymouth is a grotty place. Must be the Naval port syndrome, but the attitude of certain sections of the population is poor.
  13. Haven't viewed The Takeover saga recently, however a quick scan would reveal the following. 1. The merry 3 are in court sometime in May, all together or separately. 2. The Russians who are buying Skate's have been seen at Bompey with 'honest' Eddie Mitchell. They have managed to buy a world renowned motor manufacturer SAAB but not the Skates. This thread could still make 1000 pages.
  14. Last time we were away at Hull spoke to a really nice bloke with broad Yorkshire accent went to many Saints away games. No connection with Southampton, just a life long Saints supporter. Good on all supporters who don't go for the easy option of Manure etc. But go for the less fashionable clubs.
  15. I'm working today, finish at 5pm. Mrs LS is however going to Brentford. No radio allowed where I am, so relying on constant text updates from the better half. Mobiles are also banned, but immediate supervisor is Saints fan and he wants to know as well. As for nervous? Yes I am. But all we have to do is match Hudds results in 2 of our last 3 games. Doesn't mean I'm not apprehensive though. What must the players be feeling?
  16. Got the Fiesta conv. Taxed for first time in 18 months so if anyone there tommorrow see's a red/orange mk2 Fiesta soft top, come over and say hello to Mrs LS and myself.
  17. I haven't linked hairdressers with homosexuals because the fact one is homosexual doesn't make one a hairdresser or camp.
  18. Should you drive it? If you are a lady, or a hairdresser? Yes. If not, hope its got blacked out windows and only drive it at night and dont park it near your house/work and you might just get away with it. But never, repeat never, admit to it on any sort of public forum. Oh!
  19. Do people still drive Fords etc. ????? Between my wife and I we own 4 Fords. A 1983 Mk2 Fiesta convertible, A 1982 mK1 Fiesta L, a MK 1 Ford Escort, and an xr3i convertible. Yes people still drive Fords but personally i think there styling dept. completely lost it many, many years ago. Pre Front wheel drive. My mk2 Fiesta could never be described as pretty but it has somehow grown on me over the years. The mk1 Fiesta does have a certain charm, and compared with modern styling has a certain something. However the wifes mk1 Escort is a thing of beauty from any angle. They certainly dont make them like that anymore.
  20. Continuing the countdown to nothing happening.... 3 days to go.
  21. M last day at work today in my old job. Went to work this morning with a spring in my step. It was surprisingly warm for a feb morning and dry. The birds were singing and all was right with then world. Work has been delightful and all sorts of people wishing me luck. Tomorrow I will be stood on the terraces, and i gaurantee this wonderful long weekend I have been having will be continue, and Saints will not just beat, but demolish Swindon. This is all you need to know, Swindon are going to get well and truely trounced tomorrow. And England will beat France.
  22. 5 days to pay day.... Usually people use countdowns to spice up non-events. This non-event may turn out to be quite good if it doesn't happen.
  23. Thank you. The Forum works again. Ask a question and someone somewhere has the answer.
  24. I haven't read anything but pages 1 and 8 of this thread, but this constant referal to a charity. Is it a 'charity' in the 'official' sense of the word. Is it registered with a charity no. etc? Does it have Trustees or Officials or whatever they are called? Does it produce proper accounts? I am asking this because i do not know. And these simple facts would make a major diiference to this thread.
  25. Mrs LS has just made this observation to me I thought I'd share it with you. NC has no other business interests. Unlike many chairpersons (is that the new pc term) NC is not encumbered by other things. He hasn't come into this because his main business was successful so he thought he could indulge his ego by buying a football club as some sort of status symbol. He doesn't have to bring his mates or business partners/golf/club buddies. SFC is his business, it has his undivided attention.
