http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/west_ham_utd/8139903.stm Davis walked off of Premier League West Ham's training ground to rejoin us in League One on -10. From then, he captained us to a win at Wembley, and then to back to back promotions to get us back into the Premier League, winning the keeper's spot in the league's team of the year each of those years. For the level we were at, he was more class than we probably deserved. I'm not sure we could have got a better keeper than him had he left, and certainly at the time we couldn't have known how much we were going to be backed by Markus. I'm not sure we'd be back in the Premier League yet had he not stayed. Apparently, he was (and still is) also responsible for a huge amount of the good morale in the team off the field as we came up, helping to build the close knit team we see today. To add to that, THAT game at Leeds, one of the best keeping performances I've seen. He certainly qualifies as a legend in my book.

And I thought FIFA was glitching when that happened.. Isn't he their new defender they just bought?

Has anyone got George Weah's cousin's number?

Difference between a player giving abuse to a ref and the ref giving it back is significant. Player gives it out and yeah, it's bad and should be punished, but it doesn't make you question whether the player is doing their job. If a ref gets personal about insulting a player, you have to question whether they're going to be impartial after that. A ref at the very top level of the game NEEDS to be above that.

Happy New Year to the lot of ya!

Hilarious.

Looks like you're using the Metallic Badges/Logos pack and the real names fix?

So basically, they're going to spend money they don't really have on wages for players they see as better than they have because they're arrogant enough to think they're too big a club to even be involved in a relegation battle? With free transfers always being a gamble, as well as the time it'll take these wholesale changes to gel, this should be fun. Not to mention that, even if they do stay up doing this, it makes the crash next season even worse with the absence of parachute payments.

Dammit >_ Might be too early for them though. We react well to going behind these days.

Clattenburg seems to have a little bit of a vindictive streak, that's just as likely to work against them.

Could be any 3 from about 9 at the moment for the drop. I'll go: Sunderland - Bottom at Christmas Fulham - Depends on how they respond to that heavy defeat. West Ham - Carrol has been 'close' to returning for months now. I reckon he's actually out for the season. QPR - Unfortunately. Leicester - keep getting close each season, they'll succeed eventually. Reading - Adkins' teams seem to change division one way or the other more often than not.
-
With us last season, it seemed to me it was less about getting rid of Adkins and more about bringing Pochettino in. Harsh on Adkins but that hasn't stopped it working out well for us. I wonder if Tan already has someone else lined up, because it looks like from the outside that he's just wanting MM out, perhaps on the back of seeing how well we've done with the change of manager or how well other promoted teams have done. If it's been done without already having a replacement in mind, I can't see it working well for them.

Great result! Can go into the Everton game with a reasonable chance of a result now I reckon.

Leon Best own goal at Derby has to be up there... I still don't know how it was even physically possible for him to score the way he did!

Looks like 'Twitter' thinks Pochettino is Spurs first choice for a replacement, but I'm betting that's all snowballed from that ITV bloke's tweet.

Fantastic economy of words to get that one across

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/tottenham/next-permanent-manager Bookies seem to think Capello, but next manager odds are generally one of the least reliable markets in terms of likelihood compared to odds. They really can't seem to agree on how likely Pochettino is yet heh.

So, what odds on them finishing below Eastleigh next season?
