  1. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/481644/Roberto-Mancini-LEAVES-Galatasaray-and-Southampton-are-in-the-frame-to-land-him Think the money going on him is down to him leaving his current post personally. His odds would probably already be a lot shorter if people actually knew something.
  2. Odd. It does look like there's a fair bit of money being put on Mancini.
  3. He's an opposition fan on a wind up. Despite it being very likely that Shaw will leave, it's obvious that ink isn't dry yet. I've given him a 2 week ban to keep him quiet for a bit.
  4. The 'Due to inclement weather...' message is usually used for theme park rides
  5. You can't give up on Hoddle now!
  6. Cabella AND Schneiderlin have been called back to the France squad apparently. Maybe Ribery is out too?
  7. Apart from the handball by Lambert, and the offside by Rooney, it was a decent goal
  8. A lot of the bad feeling is down to his comments, only just over a year ago, when he signed his five year contract. They were the complete opposite of what's been attributed to him the last few days http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22112980
  9. Rickie Lambert has penned an open letter to all at Southampton Football Club following his move to Liverpool. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/02062014-rickie-lambert-open-letter-1592317.aspx Good Luck Rickie, and most of all, thank you.
  10. Oh no. Saints value him more than other people are willing to pay. That means he'd stay. That would be terrible. Finding it pretty laughable that Liverpool seem to think they have the upper hand in these negotiations over Lallana. A take it or leave it offer at this stage is incredibly high risk, especially at a value below what we want for him, and when Lallana is so obviously Liverpool's top target. With the new TV deal, teams know that Prem teams have money, and they're unlikely to get an alternative target cheaply. It doesn't look like we're going to take the 'take it' option, so if Liverpool come back after that, it makes them look incredibly weak.
  11. I'm not going to change the thread title. Regardless of where they end up this summer, they'll be going to the World Cup as Saints players, and it's their efforts playing for Saints that have got them there.
  12. From that article, it certainly sounds like he'd be a good fit.
  13. From the different snippets that are out there, maybe Liverpool bid £4M, got rejected, and were told that it'd take at least £9M for us to accept it?
  14. If Liverpool pay a decent fee, and we end the summer with a decent replacement, I won't begrudge him a move to his boyhood club. It would be kind of fitting for him to finish his career at the club he supports after they started out by rejecting him. Be absolutely gutted if he doesn't go to the World Cup as a Saints player though.
  15. This is one of the better fake twitter rumours I've seen properly take off.
  16. "That’s why we have been able to not agree to any transfers to date" Direct quote from RK.
  17. Also some bits on the Daily Echo site. Ambition is still to push for Europe. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/11239702.Saints_future__What_now_for_the_club_/?ref=var_0
  18. If we do get Murat Yakin, I'm going to be convinced that Van Helsing is going to be showing up any second.
  19. Rarely does a managerial appointment manage to annoy both sets of fans so much...

  22. So, 9 years ago, Portsmouth were a Premier League team. Fleetwood were playing in the North West Counties League. (Level 9 of the pyramid, 3 levels below Conference North/South) Next season, Fleetwood will be playing at a higher level than Portsmouth.
  23. Same happened with the Strootman to Utd market last year.
  24. Oi, this one is meant to be staying on topic!
  25. Other thread had decended into an argument about whether Saints could reach top 4, 5, 6, and then into an argument about people's general outlook on Saints, and it was starting to get heated. It was useless for anyone actually wanting to talk about Pochettino.
