  1. 12 shots on target in the last 6 matches, and one of those was Tadic's penalty. Who Puel presumably appointed to take it, having idiotically taken Gabbiadini off. Bloke has no idea how to get the team firing. It's no coincidence that the club are finally looking to do something about the situation as season ticket renewal numbers come in. Puel out.
  2. This could break records for the longest period a match has had 22 players behind the ball.
  3. The tactics are all down to Puel. The players are good enough, but are playing to his template. Today we moved the ball very slowly forwards again as usual, with a chasm between the midfield and Gabbi, sitting deep in case of the counter attack. Pathetic. The one time in the first half we got it forward quick Ward-Prowse didn't even look around, just thumped it 40 yards back to Stephens. Hopeless. What happened to being brave on the ball? Bravery has gone out of the window with Puel. He has to go.
  4. Will we ever score again?
  5. Good point at Anfield, no doubt. Bobby Madley is a grade A Homer though. Twice in a row he has given a dodgy late penalty to a big club at home against us. Someone needs to have a word with him in the car park next time he comes to SMS.
  6. Arsenal are a bit toothless with Sanchez out wide. Welbeck has scored his goal for the season and Xhaka had a lucky punt. Fancy us to take something from the game. We have Puel though, so going for another 0-0.
  7. Living in Oz I get to watch a lot of our games - they are all available live. This season is the first I can ever recall where I have had a saints game on, but literally could not be bothered to watch it and surfed the web on my phone instead. Some games have been that turgid. No-ones laughing, more are sleeping. The lack of excitement and the obsession with possession based slow moving negative football is why Puel has to go.
  8. I'd give Adkins another go. He got nothing wrong last time and likes to play a progressive game.
  9. Following the good performance at Chelsea in defeat and then the terrible performance in a home game we again failed to win, I am going for squad rotation and another glorious defeat. seems to be the way of things this season #puelout
  10. Hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work for the manager, or something. i'd have Adkins back over Puel in a heartbeat.
  11. Going backwards under Puel. The results bear that out. The performances have frequently been abject as a direct result of the tactics he uses, so I am guessing ST renewals and revenue will be going backwards as well. And if you want to bring heart in over cold facts and logic the Europa League approach still stings and I hold him entirely accountable for that. Nice league cup run though. He needs to go at the end of the season.
  12. It's not worked under Puel, he needs to be moved on. Gabbiadini subbed off. Tadic still on penalties. Players on the beach? Terrible Europa League exit. 3rd lowest scorers in the Prem at home. £16M signing underperforming? Going backwards.
  13. Left foot penalty takers with short run ups are a disaster waiting to happen. Of all the players we could have chosen I would have had Tadic last. Have to question Puel on the selection. Yet another error, when will he learn?
  14. We looked good the whole game and scored two nice goals. The last one would have stung Conte as well as we kept the ball for about three minutes beforehand, absolutely battered them in stoppage time, they were chasing shadows. They are really shaky at the back, Cahill is a liability. wouldn't get in our side ahead of Yoshi or Stephens. Vastly overrated, and one of the reasons England lost to Iceland, and were crap in Brazil before that.
  15. I know we like to have a go at Brighton but they really were turd tonight. If they think they are good enough to rotate and take their foot off the gas they will be going straight back down.
  16. Birmingham, home of the motor industry. A good fit for Britains premier managerial wheeler dealer. Hopefully he'll take the Blues down to meet the Skates next season. A relegation 6 pointer next season would be worthy of a substantial popcorn order.
  17. Absolutely no chance of a complacent Chelsea for this one. I fear the worst.
  18. Result will depend on what City side Pep turns out and the attitude he infuses them with beforehand. Their squad should be right up there with Chelsea but the endless rotation and tinkering throughout the season has been worse than ours and a pivotal reason why they aren't challenging for the title. Pep has been a hindrance. If Pep is focused on the cup and the players pick up that he isn't bothered about the league (which he isn't) then they are there for the taking, especially if Gabbi is fit.
  19. They like to play a possession based conservative game looking for pace on the break and set pieces. We struggle to score without Gabbi (Palace was a one off) so will play a possession based conservative game looking to cross the halfway line occasionally so Tadic can try a punt from 35 yards. All set for a thriller. 0-0.
  20. Backward step. Puel bought himself some time with the EFL performance at Wembley, but if we go back to this rubbish the pressure will be on him again. Turgid stuff. Boufal really starting to wind me up - needs to deliver, and that doesn't mean slowing the play down so he can run round in circles 5 times.
  21. Australian Saints gathering in Brisbane for their annual road trip for this one. 2:30 am kick off, fans arriving from around the country - and to put it in persepective, Perth to Brisbane is the same as Bargate to Baghdad. We are even playing the Norwich and Chelsea Aussie fan groups in the park as well. Details: We'll be kicking things off (literally) in the Botanic Gardens from 1pm on Saturday with the jumpers for goalposts. The Norwich and Chelsea groups have accepted the challenge. With Sydenham on the wing, we can't lose! Following the kick-about (approx 3pm) we've been invited across the road to one of Brisbane's premier restaurants, Moo Moo Wine Bar & Grill, owned by a Saints fan. Following that we've set aside a few spare hours for those who require a few extra zzz's to make the later kick-off. The dinner itself will get underway at the Pig 'N' Whistle Riverside from 7.30pm-8pm. Between dinner and the match getting underway at 2.30am we'll have Saints FA Cup styled trivia, the signed Boufal shirt raffle (plus more prizes) and much, much more - including the highly anticipated Hosts v Visitors 'boat race'. Sunday is TBD and will depend on result. Most likely a Sunday session somewhere near the water either way. For those who have taken the Monday off we'll be attending the Brisbane Roar A-League match that evening at Suncorp. Can't wait to see you all at the 5th SAS Annual!! #WeMarchOn to Brisvegas.
  22. Anyone got a video they can post of their missed penalty at the weekend? Comedy Gold.
  23. Skids 'Saints are Coming' followed by the Pistols 'My Way' would be a great improvement.
  24. Think Spurs will score a few regardless of if we play Stephens or Carcerces. Hope I am wrong, but Spurs will be at it as they go for CL and finally a finish above Arsenal. 5-1.
