Good to see Puel rotated out. Permanently. He can take his passes back to the goalkeeper from the opposition byeline, and keep going on through the turnstiles, down to the docks and back over to France. Don't care about his 8th place finish or even expect a new manager to do as well, just want to be proud of a team that plays with style again. Caution is overrated.
-
The best defence of a rotation policy is a strong end to the season compared to those that didn't rotate. We well and truly stuffed that one. Rotation produced no tangible benefits, none. Did the rotations impede our progression to a settled pattern of play - definitely. Given that the settled pattern of play we were striving for was a crock of dung to start with small wonder we were all over the place for most of the season. At least the players will look and feel great playing beach volleyball over the summer.

I can't believe he is still here. Surely the most likely scenario now is that the Board have backed him, and in the Saints way, no announcement has been made. If so, it's very disappointing and we will most likley have to endure more turgid football next season. The way the season ended, I am convinced under Puel we will be in a relegation scrap from day 1.
-
We ended the season in freefall and escaped a relegation scrap by a relatively small number of points and a crap bottom three. Another season of Puel and we are done for. If Puel goes, it's a game changer in every way.
-
None of our strikers had much of a chance under Puel. A combination of being marooned 30 yards from the nearest midfielder, and constant effing rotation put them all behind the 8 ball. Messi wouldn't have scored many more in our side. Wake me up when he's gone. Puel out.
-
I would be surprised if all three stayed up. In fact I reckon that's the three sides going down.
-
Looke like he is staying until any takeover happens. Hopefully new owner, new manager and new players for next season.
-
A bit worried we aren't being linked with other managers. Puel can't stay surely?
-
Boring our way to 8th isn't sustainable as people will stop going and the money will dry up. That's the point. Puel out.
-
They won't have had any interest over the period they have been involved with Pompey Lite though.
-
One up front at home. Repeatedly. Sack the Coward.
-
Bloke is terrified of the counter attack so plays one up at home and paralyses the midfield. Its like a mental problem with him. He wont change. Same risk free **** next season if he stays.

SWEEPSTAKE ALERT - Puel departure announcement timing - all welcome

Can't score at home and the stubborn git stays with one up front and fails yet again. Pathetic and should cost him his job. The future of Saints is bigger than one bloke and his massive ego.
-
Leicester won the Prem with next to no rotation. Its possible. Even with Europa League a good manager would play a gelled side and just moderate training exertion for some players.
-
Hey Mods - multiple threads on this and its hard to assess the consensus from reading the posts as there are several strong characters with opposing views on whether Puel is wanted here or not. One vote each on a poll would be interesting - any chance of a poll?
-
Little wonder the players play slowly and seem unsure of the system when the system changes every game, as does a large proportion of the starting XI. Puel has sacrificed any hope of cohesion, consistency and sense of team on the alter of rotation. It's been mad this season, it's clearly not been working but he has stuck with it regardless because he is a stubborn old bastard. He needs firing.
-
Really hope we score a goal. It's been a long time at home. Ridiculous really. Maybe play another striker up top with Gabbiadini? The 5 man midfield of 3 holding players and 2 ball recyclers won't cut it. Hasn't all season.
-
No goal in over 6 hours of football at SMS. Hardly a surprise when you keep picking crab like ball recyclers and reverting to a lone striker in home games. Gabbiadini must be doing his nut. Sincerely hope Clueless Claude gets the boot next week along with the relegation specialist Black.

Can't score at home and the tactical genius takes off Gabbi again. I really can't wait to see the back of Puel. -

Nice win and a couple of goals, both of which came as a bit of a surprise. I would be mightily fed up if I was Gabbiadini. After being asked to play as a lone striker whilst we go scoreless for three games he gets dropped when Puel decides to play two up top against a side there for the taking. If he gets selected as a lone striker at home to United - well, with Puel it wouldn't surprise me at all.

If Puel plays Gabbiadini up top on his own I am going to self combust. -
Woeful team selection. Exactly what I have come to expect from the idiot Puel.
