The Sun. It's journos are barely literate and they don't have much of a track record for getting things right. Including the facts.

So lets say Everton pay him £7M a year for two years, pay us £3M in compensation, then let him spend £100M on players. World Cup 2018 Holland job comes along.....all that money down the pan. It was an ever present risk for us - but the stakes just look like going a lot higher. All the best with that Everton.

Guardian Club by Club guide to club finances.

Will probably be related to cashflow. Working capital injection of some sort. -
Lets auction him off to the highest bidder real quick and get him out of the club before him or his agent does any more damage. Spurs can have him - he's a liability.

Europa League 2016/2017 (Died 8/12/2016)

I very much doubt that any listing is fixed at this point. It probably won't be finalised until after the qualifying rounds. -
Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 4-1 Crystal Palace

Just about the best afternoon and evening of football ever. Love this club. And my second club is Plymouth, so how sweet was that at Home Park. Another year in the wilderness for the Skates. Wembley for Argyle. Just need to sort Rons contract and have a good sit down with Big Vic and Mane to make sure they are on the bus over the close season and no dummy spitting like last close season. Can't wait for a decent crack at Europa. Hard luck West Ham and Spurs. You both thoroughly deserved your outcomes. -
Because it's a huge psychological blow to everyone attached to Spurs. They will try to play it down as will the media. Arsenal will also play it down as they feel they should have done better. But make no mistake, finishing below Arsenal AGAIN, having St. Totteringhams Day AGAIN is going to leave mental scars on every Spurs fan. Levy will be hurting like hell. The Manager should quite rightly be having a long hard look at himself. They play like that in the CL we won't even see them in the Europa League. They will slide right by with Poch's sad face in the window.

Baines has had an ordinary season and was shocking along with the rest of the starting XI in Brazil. Should never be in an England shirt again after Brazil. Nailed on for selection by Roy therefore.

Yesssss Green Army!!!!

No great loss, just hope we're shot of him quickly if we qualify for Europa. He was a bloody disgrace last year and I still haven't forgiven him for the dummy spitting.

Tottenham build up thread ...a question posed
Kingsbridge Saint replied to Yorkshire Saint's topic in The Saints
Expecting a very 'tasty' game with no yellow cards based on the recent new approach to Tottenham games. Time for Big Vic to go out with a bang. -
Here's the route of least resistance: 1. Point at Spurs 2. Beat Palace, finish 7th, with distracted Liverpool 8th 3. Seville re-retain Europa League Cup Wed 18th May 4. United beat Palace at Wembley That will do it. Point at Spurs the hardest, but even that might not ultimately prove necessary.

Made hard work of falling off a log. Will need to improve next week, and then again the week after. If we do that, and other results go our way, we still could squeak a Europa spot. If Liverpool win the Europa League, City win the Champions League and United win the FA Cup. I think the season ended at Everton.
-
If they get promoted at Wembley I would rather they had won the League. Anything but that.
-
Agreed - woeful again. A booking is a booking. So many refs seem to operate off their own agenda - this one clearly wasn't going to book anyone in the first half, but in the second he wasn't letting anything go. Pathetic.

Post-Match Reaction: Everton 1-1 SAINTS
Kingsbridge Saint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Tadic was our best player on the day, but consistently gave the ball away or held onto it whilst good passing opportunities (sometimes two or three) passed him by. He likes to put his foot on it and be the Big I Am too much. That he was still our best player says a lot about the others. A lot of them didn't seem to want it enough. Disappointing. -
Everton - Southampton Build Up Thread
Kingsbridge Saint replied to Pass the Dutchie's topic in The Saints
They will be gifted a controversial penalty for ball to hand. You can see it now - the Everton Fans appeal loudly for everything. Point blank cross....HANDBALL!! Ref points to spot. It will be in injury time and Adrian Heath will come on to take it. I hate Everton. -
So we could qualify in 8th - provided Liverpool finish 7th or above and win the EL, and either Man Utd or West Ham finish above us and win the FA Cup.
-
Disappointing but we knew we were getting a 'sick note' type player when we only paid £4M. Let's hope we can get him fit for cameos off the bench every now and again. Hope he was on a pay per play salary, or a basic plus pay per play.

For a moment there I thought Jordan had declared financial difficulties.

Anyone who still thinks we have a shout for a Europa spot, but that Champions League is out of reach needs to have a long look at the League table and Manchester Citys current form. If we can discover some late season consistency it's definitely on. Pelle and Mane scoring again, Long on form, Jay Rod and Charlie Austin as impact subs. Why not? this is the hardest game of the last three we have played - knock this one over and it's all there to play for last 6 games. Not even caring about who wins the League, just focused on us.
-
Good to see Kat and Ralph at the game. If they had been in any way doubtful of the passion of English football, or it's place at Saints, that third goal should have done the trick. Would have loved to see their reaction in particular. How's the trophy winning going Nivea Boy? Don't rick your neck looking for us in the league table.
-
Big game for us - Europa back on the horizon if we can pinch this one. Couple of other belting games Sunday - Spurs v Bournemouth at the top, and the Tyne/Wear derby at the bottom. Utd v City is almost a total irrelevance for a change.
