  1. 8th and home to Bristol Rovers on Saturday. No pressure then. (again).
  2. Some defensive effort that by Denver. Well played indeed.
  3. I really don't understand why so many Nutjobs keep thinking they should actually walk this league. Pompey are actually that ****. They are at the right level.* *Operationally - morally and ethically they should be outside the Football League.
  4. Did well to hold on there - drawing on some of the experience from the Emirates will have helped. Pointless appealing the Wanyama red - firstly because it was borderline yellow/red anyway and secondly because we play no worse without him anyway. Pelle needs to improve quickly - that was like playing with nine. He was still far too easy to mark, didn't hold the ball up and conceded way too many free kicks. Add to that his lack of sharpness in the box, and in the air and the attempted 35 yard through ball to their CF and you can see the problem. Total passenger at the moment.
  5. Agreed Refereeing like that will lead us back to the bad old days of referees being surrounded every 5 minutes.
  6. West Ham at home remains huge in the context of improving on last season, and also Europa prospects. And if we do qualify I sincerely hope the club does a better job with dealing with sooks like Wanyama throwing their toys out of the pram in the close season.
  7. Brisbane Roar occasionally. Not much other than Saints on the TV. Unless it's your team playing the possession based going nowhere approach of many teams is starting to make football as a neutral unwatchable.
  8. I come on here for all my Saints news - haven't been to the Official Site for two or three years as every time I did it took ages to load then tried to kill my iPhone with massive frame sizes and ads. On here you do have to sift through a lot of tossers who would be better off using IM for their point scoring to get to the news though, so in that sense the OP is right. However my perception is that the OP is one of the worst offenders.....
  9. Panthers seem to be making a habit of getting out of the blocks quick and sticking 10-20 points on the opposition by half time. Seattle did it in a Superbowl a couple of years ago - who was that against again? Peyton will have thrown the towel in and be playing short pass damage limitation by Q3 like last time.
  10. I don't follow NFL that closely at all but watched the 2014 Superbowl and backed Denver on the strength of all the guff I had read about how great Peyton Manning was. What a crock of crap that turned out to be. Just don't get how a guy that performs so badly under pressure has such a great reputation. Reminds me of Rooney - quality for sure, but rarely delivers on the big occasion, and never on the big occasion in an England shirt. Got a horrible feeling Manning is going to get exposed again in Superbowl 50.
  11. You would do well to steer clear of Ios if its a family holiday. Unless it's changed dramatcially since the mid 80's. Party Island.
  12. Football is simply a better watch when possession changes hands more frequently. This obsession with possession whilst going nowhere is essentially a defensive strategy that is slowly killing the game. United being a prime example. The x6 button on my TV Remote has never been more welcome.
  13. 5th and dropping like a stone, fans fighting like knuckle draggers. 14 points off the top and 7 points outside the promotion spots. And we just won at Old Trafford. WTFILN.
  14. Sport is all about moments. That Austin moment will live with me forever, like Rickie's England goal. Decent display from Wanyama, let's keep that going eh Vic?
  15. Genuine lol Halo - very good.
  16. Like The9 I have made a point of watching Wanyama closely over the last half dozen games or so. He really doesn't put it in and is a chief reason we weren't creating much going forward in the run up to his sending off. The fact we looked so much better going forward without him in the next two games was no coincidence. He is holding us back.
  17. My lad had Oakley 8 on his shirt - favourite player.
  18. Villa , Swansea and Watford (and yes - that was what I thought before seeing Trousers post!). Watford seem to think they can play football all of a sudden. They need to go back to lumping it up to Deeney and Ighalo but I fear their Manager will be stubborn.
  19. Top three starting to vanish over the horizon if they lose at Fatpipes to Oxford next weekend. No pressure then.
  20. Vic needs to be benched for this one. I hope he only got back in because Romeu/Clasie played midweek. He did OK against WBA but Clasie/Romeu are the more reliable option. Vic is liable to put in a disinterested shift at any point. Sick of it.
  21. It's very hard to justify chanting the name of a player on the opposing team. But in Ricky's case it's easy. Saints legend (see banner).
  22. Another great performance and really hope we can go on from here, although next three look very tough. Wanyama did a decent job today but I was disappointed he was the first name on the team sheet again. Very much hope we see Clasie and Romeu back together for the next game. They are technically better players and Wanyama really needs a rocket up him so he realises he can't get away with his regular bouts of 'can't be bothered today'. Solid mid table then, as we thought, but we could be so much more.
  23. If this is true I will be mightily annoyed with Koeman. it will show he hasn't got a clue. OK, Clasie needs a rest but there are loads of other options than bringing in a bloke who doesn't care and will drag the team performance down to his level. Reed for starters. We won't beat West Brom at walking pace because we won't score.
  24. Yeah - really committed. Ship him out now before he destabilises the entire club again just like he did last pre season. Poisonous slacker.
  25. Long showed the money we paid for him was a steal for a Premier League striker. I would keep him in over Pelle for a while. No co-incidence the sense of urgency, commitment and pressing was back in the absence of the dragging anchor that is Wanyama. Don't want him anywhere near that first team squad anymore leave alone the bench. And if Koeman brings him straight back in that will be a defining moment in his Saints managerial career. Nice to be winning again. Don't change much next game.
