Can't see any reason why you would place Monk ahead of Koeman for Manager of the season. No reason at all. We were 7th, Swans were 8th. We started the season on the back foot, Swansea didn't. Koeman is before Monk in the alphabet etc. etc.

Blatter really thinks of himself as a World leader with a government to support him and everything that goes with it. World leaders should come together and squash him like a pip. The Corporate sponsors could do themselves a favour too. Being associated with that odious reptile and his cesspit of an organisation can't be doing them any good at the moment.

Top 10 dirtest players in this season PL
Kingsbridge Saint replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
Where's Wes Brown? He IS 'that type of player'. -
An incredible season deserves to be topped off by a win at City, and a 5th place finish. It will probably be the last time in the group for one or two of the players and they will want to go out on a high. Spurs and Liverpool simply aren't as good as us when we are at our best and it would be justice if we finished above them. I have every confidence in our ability to win this and for Spurs and Liverpool to slip up. We ride together - one last time!

Had to laugh at the comment on Tadic - 'set pieces are his strength'. Did they see his corners and free kicks this season? I came to the conclusion that the bloke had a serious problem actually kicking a dead ball.

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 6-1 Aston Villa

Looked a different side to the one that strolled around at Leicester. It's thrilling the way we can play when the attitude is right. And it is most weeks. Great way to sign off at home, 2 Premier League records for Mane/Saints, goal of the season candidate from Long and European football looking likely. -
Time for the players to deliver or they will seriously lose some goodwill with the fans. It's not been good enough by a long chalk over the last couple of months - relegation form. Time to put up or shut up about being a decent side.
-
Koeman should come out and state if he wants Europa or not. That way if we don't we can all do something else instead of bothering to turn up at SMS on Saturday to watch the same tripe again. We need to study how other teams score goals and try to do the same things ourselves. Passing sides to death with no end result is just garbage.

What line will you use when we finish 8th?

Sign a striker that shoots and doesn't try fancy flicks instead. And a proper goalkeeper as back up. -
Our On-the-Beach mentality is a f**king disgrace

That performance wasnt worth getting out of bed to watch on the telly let alone inflict on fans giving up their Saturday, $35 and a round trip of 300 miles to witness. Forget the season as a whole - the players approach to this game was a disgrace and an insult to the supporters. The OP is correct imo. -
Post-Match Reaction: Leicester City 2-0 SAINTS

We just look so short of ideas and pace. There is something wrong with the coaching or tactics. We should watch other sides goals and try to work out how they do it. Koeman needs to sort it out fast. -

Davis and Gazzaniga cost us that one. This Saints team is hopeless at breaking down packed defences - simply no-one prepared to take anyone on. Its all pass pass pass tippy tappy rubbish with no end product. You might as well play an oven up front instead of Pelle when the games like that. So gifting them 2 goals killed us. Davis chickened out of a challenge like a 6 year old for the first and Gazzanigga simply can't kick a football properly. For that alone, he doesn't deserve to be described as a Premier League footballer. Needs to be one out of the door over the summer. -

This was the first thread I came to after watching that game. Because it described what I was thinking perfectly. It is a complete disgrace. -
Would be nice to see us turn up and compete, but Leicester will want this far more than us, which is disappointing. It's been a pretty lame end to a good season. A season that could have been great is turning out to be only marginally better than last season. And we were awful at Sunderland again. Happy with being back in the Prem though and ditching the struggling Southampton tag as well. Been a hell of a ride.

We need to be as niggardly and cheaty as all the other clubs out there. No point in getting all Corinthian and have other sides getting away with it against us week in week out. Mane just needs to work a bit harder on his diving - he should keep going down, but stop throwing the shapes and making out like he's after an academy award. And choose his moments better too. Final third for the most authentic dives and throw in some yelps for pain as well - that normally suckers the refs in lovely.

Well done Bournemouth. Love it. Looking forward to playing them home and away next season and hope they go well. But not against us. Likeable Manager and club, players with close links with us, drink in the same pubs out West in the Forest as well no doubt. No sense in stirring the pot with them. Save all the invective for the knuckle draggers down the other way. Now there's a club that everyone should hate, and we get first dibs. They must absolutely hate it that both Bournemouth and us are in the EPL and they have spunked everything away like the losers they are.

Try rebooting

Keep them both, but they work all summer with RK's team and JRod getting ready for next season and learning how to not repeatedly butcher promising goalscoring opportunities. Both Mane and Pelle will learn a lot from JRod. We shouldn't be selling flawed geniuses like Mane, and I don't think selling Italy's current number 9 is that good an idea either.

Please, can we just score a few goals. If we do that, I think we will probably win. Though I would take a clean sheet if I can't have the goals. At least that way Poch drops 2 points which will be damaging for him.

Post-Match Reaction: Stoke City 2-1 SAINTS
Kingsbridge Saint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
We don't score enough goals. As well as being frustrating for us, it also leads to games like this where we should win, but our otherwise rock solid defence gets undone by a keeper error and/or an officiating error. Something we need to fix in the close season. -
We came up on the rails at the end that season really. Never really got in the headlines until we were there in 2nd at the end. Even then most didn't really give us the credit we deserved given the side we had and the football we played. Enjoyed sticking five past Spurs and 8 past Coventry around then as well as I recall. Ah memories - the Dell pumping out Rockwell, then off to the Painted Wagon for a Beer or three and a takeaway from the Far East in Bedford Place. Can't believe that's still there btw.
-
Just have a look at that list again. Great to be in the mix with that lot isn't it? WTFILN.

All lager tastes the same to me. Metallic fizzy and cold. Give me a real ale or even a cider, at least you can taste those. All Australian beer is lager by the way. All dreadful, all tastes the same, the brand differentiation attempts are pointless.

Good to see us above Spurs and Liverpool. I really really want to end the season that way. Stoke away next - they won't park the bus so if we can cope with being kicked up in the air and we have a half decent ref we should wipe the floor with them. Good to see someone other than Tadic on the penalty. Tadic is woeful with a dead ball anywhere on the field. Corners, free kicks, penalties, woeful. Good for Pelle to bag a goal. Hopefully another one next week.

Disappointing to let three serial England failures combine for Phil 'Stench of Brazil' Jagielka to shin the ball in and nick the points with their only shot on target. Wanyama immense, but shooting into different postcodes isn't big or clever, so no idea what the **** he was smiling about. Still plenty to play for - not least the possibility of finishing above either or both Liverpool (whose priorities have clearly changed) and Spurs and denying one or both of them European football next season. Winnable game next week, so lets have that and a goal for Pelle and on we go.
