Terrible news, he was a top cricketer, raised on a farm and honed his batting skills there just knocking balls against walls and the like. Resonates for many of us I am sure. Everyone has taken it pretty hard out here, ex Pats equally so.

Who is the ref? Could have a significant impact as there are some who follow the unwritten rule of favouring the big clubs with all 50/50 decisions. It's going to be high tempo and very tasty. If we get an even handed and impartial referee I think our fitness and team spirit will see us remain 2nd after the game and shut up the nay sayers for a few more days. At least a draw I reckon. A win would be epic.

This is why Liverpool are buggered this season. A broken anchor that needs to be cut loose and a Manager that either doesn't have the bottle to do it, or is stubbornly refusing to admit that its a problem. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/30202789 Enjoy the ride Dejan and Adam.

CONFIRMED - Mane joins Liverpool for £34m + £2m addons
Kingsbridge Saint replied to toe_punt's topic in The Saints
To be fair to the OP Mane made more mistakes than anyone else in a Saints shirt. Offsides, handball, poor passes, poor crosses, the toe poke out for a goal kick. If that's all he saw, then fair enough. However, his poor play was roughly balanced out by his better moments - a really good shot that Guzan was at full stretch to save, some nice touches and passes, and he's very lively. Just needs an improved team ethic and to cut out the 'look at me' stuff. And get rid of the stupid haircut -
Post-Match Reaction: Aston Villa 1-1 SAINTS
Kingsbridge Saint replied to Plastic's topic in The Saints
That was a 1-0 win on the balance of play. Forster cost us 2 points there. But I am prepared to overlook one crap performance from him. -
Gerrard of two years ago would have got across to block Palace's second goal. Look at it again - he's half a yard away and closing. But still half a yard, and the ball is in the back of the net. Rodgers is stubbornly refusing to drop him, and I think it will be his undoing.

17 for me, 21 for my lad. Dang.

This article smacks of 'not good enough for Liverpool, but good enough to go back to Southampton for more game time'. Tells you all you need to know about the quality of this journalist and his 'Glory Club' mentality.

Is there any point in our "Latest News" page?
Kingsbridge Saint replied to St_Tel49's topic in Site suggestions
I get all my Saints news here - on the Forum. I can't remember the last time I looked at 'Latest News' on here, and I haven't been on the OS for at least three years. It just got unusable on a phone so I gave it up. -
The transformation in fortunes over the course of this thread has been biblical. A complete and utter pleasure, with tremendous value added by this thread. Thanks to everyone, especially RallyBoy and FF. The fact that the change in fortunes also represents natural justice leaves me torn as to whether it's Darwinian, or there really is a God. Either way you wouldn't want to be a Skate right now. Sha la la la la, WTFILN.

South Africa was terrible. No atmosphere, crowd drowned by trumpets. Played with a 50p ball from the corner shop. Brazil was OK but England were worse than bad. No harm in pulling out of the next two and building for 2026. Great time to tell FIFA to do one in my opinion.

How many points do we need for the top 4?
Kingsbridge Saint replied to Rasiak-9-'s topic in The Saints
Too early for any of this. A bad run at the top has a merciless effect on your league position. It ain't like the old days scratching around and jumping six places with a couple of wins. Let's stop holding ourselves out for merciless **** taking come January by pulling our heads in and getting through the next 10 games. If we're still in the top 4 then, I am getting my calculator out too. -
Spurs casting desperately around for magic beans. Hilarious. We are laughing at you Pochettino.

Saints 2 Leicester 0 - Post Match Reactions
Kingsbridge Saint replied to Whitey Grandad's topic in The Saints
We are going to be some side once we are back to full strength. -
Would take a 1-0 and the three points. Could probably do with a couple of wins now so the confidence isn't dented for the tougher games coming up. And the points would be handy too.
-
Hull have some very tidy players, and are at home. We may be flying, but I still think a point would be OK up there.

How are Solent painting things this weekend? Saints sitting second and Bournemouth winning 8-0 away whilst their beloved Skates lose and drop into the bottom half of the bottom division. Getting harder for them to paper over the canyons surely?

West ham obsessed with us? And stoke reaction to our team/season
Kingsbridge Saint replied to Saint86's topic in The Saints
It's a skate, or a West Ham fan that has the Skates as a second club. There's a few of them. The demographic is similar. They will never understand, so not even worth the bother of a response. -

Unforgettable day to be a Saints fan. Incredible. Just like watching Dagenham & Redbridge eh Gus. No sympathy. Suck it up. -
They really just can't get their head around the fact that they are a potless bottom half fourth tier footballing irrelevance whilst we are lighting up the Premier League and are the new darlings of the football public and increasingly, the mainstream media. Add to that the fact that we went through an administration paying all our debts and coming out with pride intact, whereas they repeatedly defaulted on tens of millions, including ripping off kids cancer charities and have become a global example of how not to conduct yourself in football and in business. I would be ashamed to come from Portsmouth.
-
Legacy debts 'settled'. Why can't they just say 'paid'. Maybe it's because they haven't been? Further negotiations and compromises behind the bike sheds has to be a strong possibility. The club stinks like a rotten fish. Every point they drop is like a little ray of light every weekend.

Plymouth Barbican is pretty good. The Minerva is a good old pub. Been open since 1540. No, not twenty to four.... http://www.minervainn.co.uk/

Spurs 1 Saints 0 - Match and Reactions Thread
Kingsbridge Saint replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
Massive scalp for Spurs. Was a cup final for them - Poch really had them up for it. No coincidence it was the hardest they had worked all season, they wanted it so bad it was funny. Back to mediocrity for them now, onwards and upwards for us. -
Would be delighted with a point just because it won't be enough for Potch and Levy.

The Les Reed is a Waste of Space thread
Kingsbridge Saint replied to SarniaSaint's topic in The Saints
Having read the telegraph article I just had to go back to see who started this thread. Very rarely do that. Just wanted some clarity on who it was that got this so spectacularly wrong. This will obviously affect said persons credibility on this forum going forward. You can't go so far out on a limb like that with no evidence and expect to have your posts viewed in the same way going forward. Nothing personal, don't know you, but know your posting name and that's enough.
