Just have a look at some of the barmy prices that deals get done at for top players. Liverpool, United, City, Chelsea all pay them. They think they can get our players for a discount because they play for us not Real Madrid. I don't see how that works. If Diego Costa is worth £35m then Lallana has to be worth at least £40m and Shaw probably £50M. You are talking about the future England captain and a player most agree has the potential to develop into the best left back English football has ever seen. The sums being bandied about for Lallana and Shaw are currently an insult.

I would be OK losing one of Lallana or Shaw and using some of the massive fee to improve the terms to the other and the rest of the squad. There might even be enough left over to fund a couple of new players and a divi for the execs too.

£27M isn't even close to Shaw's value. Fellaini was £25M. £35M at least for me. And if they don't want to pay it, they can wait and pay £40M at the end of next season. They could do with him now though - they need to attract a new manager.

Got to be more than $30M for Lallana taking a line off Fellaini and Henderson. Hard one though - wish him all the best and wouldn't want him to stay if his heart wasn't in it. Can Saints make top 4 next year?
