  1. We are a shadow of last seasons team. Personnel changes have found us out at this level. Koeman has been found out too. End of an era.
  2. Early goal and then waste time for fun. Karma.
  3. Went defensive for the point and got it, mission accomplished per RK. The set up impacted on Pelle's performance - he had no chance with the service and support he had, not surprised he was annoyed when substituted. We need to do better with our ball movement when we are pressed - too slow and not enough movement off the ball. Lost count of the number of times I saw Wanyama and Romeu walking.
  4. If both sides play to their best we should win, but I think a draw is most likely and wouldn't be a bad result after playing Thursday. We could really use a win for confidence and early league position jostling though. We need to set our sights on mid table and enjoy the Europa League this season so a draw would be par. On that basis next Thursday is a much bigger game for us. We won't be getting relegated this season, not a chance, so lets just enjoy the European experience, enjoy a competent season under the radar, then a relaxed summer without all the vultures circling for our players for a change.
  5. This is exactly the sort of result that will continue to cruel their run for the top 3. 6th - what a joyous prospect. Play off pain is the worst kind of suffering.
  6. Mane needs to shape up with another great performance. On his off days its like he plays with his boots on the wrong feet and his head up his arse. And I am getting sick of Wanyama's shots clearing the crossbar. You are a professional footballer man, get some control going - try practicing a bit more. Mane's wastefulness and Wanyama's terrible shooting were a large part of this failure.
  7. 5th. Play off agony zone. Enjoying this season already.
  8. After Saturday not so confident. I can see us conceding the first from our own corner, then struggling to create an opening for the equaliser, finally bagging one in the 89th minute. So 1-1. Then 0-0 in Denmark. Steaua all over again. On the other hand, if we pull our fingers out......
  9. Gareth Barry was old and past it at the World Cup - in South Africa. Getting stuffed 3-0 at home by a side with him in it is like losing to 10 men. Seriously looking for a response at Watford on Sunday, and in Europe on Thursday. Two wins please and let's leave this all behind.
  10. After a couple of years enjoying the teasing prospect of a bottom two finish, the far more realistic scenario of an agonising play off failure holds much more appeal.
  11. Early days, lets judge at the end of October. Irks me that Stones and Barkley don't seem to want to 'play at the highest level' though.
  12. I am a 52 year old married bloke earning a decent wedge and living a reasonably comfortable life in Australia. The TV out here is so bad though, so I have been greatly enjoying spending time on here laughing long and loud at the pathetic shambles that the Skates have become It's surprising there's not more Skates out here really, thousands of Skates left Portsmouth for Australia, and most of them never went back. Was a while ago now though.
  13. Nice touch the EA Sports ground thing. Something sadly lacking from the entire Pompey midfield.
  14. He's on the banner for a reason and I will always have massive respect for the bloke. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that he will have an Indian Summer and bang in 20 for WBA this season. Would love it if he did that. Not much of a gamble for Pulis either as he wouldn't have cost much now that Rodgers priorities have clearly changed.
  15. I can't see how Pompey represent an investable proposition at all. I would be terrified taking the business on for £1 and assuming responsibility for the P&L account going forward.
  16. West Brom were involved in one a few seasons back. Allegedly buckets of cash were collected by people with webbed fingers.
  17. http://www.bluelagoonresort.com.au/ Run by a Brit. Would be able to help you plan your trip too. Ask for Paul
  18. Not a rip off really is it? Cat A game classifications seem sensible to me. And you don't have to go. It's not like a hidden charge or anything.
  19. No longer feeling compelled to select Old Man Gerrard will help him next season. Gerrard was like a dragging anchor on Liverpool last season, just like he was on England in Brazil.
  20. I don't see how a move to Liverpool is 'bettering yourself'. Both in Europa League next season, both in EPL with marginal differences in points last season. You can trade your 'history' against your cesspit of a City and its victim culture. Southampton is a nicer place to live, and will always be closer to Europe.
  21. Just wondering if FC Kairat is closer to me than it would be for UK based travellers. Edit - just googled it, it's nearer to Southampton, via the M32 apparently.
  22. Emirates Spinnaker Tower anagrams, choose your favourite: Saints Retake Prime Owner Saints Retake Premier Now Saints Remake Entire Prow Saints Weaker Empire Torn Saints Rename Piker Tower (my favourite) Saints Repair Meeker Town And finally one for Neil Allen - Saints Make Reporter Wine
  23. He has shown some flashes of adequacy, could develop, Koemans call.
  24. He hasn't resigned though has he? He has just promised to call an EGM at which he will acquiesce to being replaced. He is hoping it will all blow over so he can cancel the EGM and stay on. Unflushable b@stard.
  25. Ray Clemence was instrumental in getting in the ear of the England manager when Le Tiss was left out of the World Cup squad after his hat trick against Russia B. Just saying.
