40/1 to be relegated currently on Betfair.
Kingsbridge Saint replied to tisspahars's topic in The Saints
I got £10 on at 150/1 after the WBA game. Also had a saver on Newcastle at 9/1 which I hope to collect on. -
If Newcastle go down that will mean the three relegated sides all have ex Saints managers. Bizarre.
-
Incorrect. They have Sunderland favourites at 2.625, we are 3.2 and the draw 3.5. Did you do Maths on Portsea Island?
-
Well my first football love Newport County have made it back to the League. What an achievement! What a boost and rise in footballing profile. Which is exactly why I think Pompey haven't suffered enough for their financial doping crimes. They still have the kudos of League football. Until those DFCSB's are in the Conference, they have got away with it. If they don't go up next season I reckon there's a fair chance they'll end up there yet.

Big big goal. Emotions took over. Excused.

If Sunderland beat Stoke midweek we might get a point, otherwise Di Canio will have them flying, and with them at home we will struggle to get anything. If Sunderland do beat Stoke, Stoke are going to be well fired up for the last game at SMS. Either way it's a ****fight and we are right in the middle of it. Should have beaten WBA. Unprofessional performance we are paying for now. Reckon we will be fine - last day point against Stoke being enough.

Weekend results pretty much as I expected. Don't fancy our chances away at Sunderland - I reckon we'll need a point in the last game, and I think we'll get it at SMS against Stoke. Hardly safe as we sit here now, and that's the point really. Still likely to stay up - but not safe.

Tottenham 1-0 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction

Completely predictable. Both the improved performance, and the late Spurs winner, and the goalscorer. ****ed it up royally against WBA last week and reaping the results now - increased tension all around. -
That floo powder stuff in Harry Potter would be cool.

Love the posters on here that say we are 'safe' because we will pick up points......the whole point of 'safe' is that we can AFFORD not to pick up ANY more points. Then we're safe. How people can say 'we're safe' because in their opinion we will pick up more points just demonstrates their failure to grasp the concept of 'safe'. They are discussing 'likelihood' not 'safety'. There's a world of difference. Categorically, we are not safe. However, we are likely to stay up. Savvy?

This thread has to continue until the PDT proves it's sustainability - otherwise its just another in a long series of hysterical failed takeovers. As for Newport having nothing to do with the Skates I refer you to an administration, a tinpot ground (Somerton Park) and a common interest in Conference/League 2 football. Your witness.

Don't want any Canadians thanks. All moose and no trousers. -
Lose - Spurs too good and something to play for Lose - No way Sunderland won't bounce back under Di Canio up there Draw - Squeaky bum last day Finish 17th Not at all worried, plenty of Saints fans on here have assured me we are 'safe'

£300,000 Newport went to the wall for. Mind you, that was a fair bit back then when a Bovril and Pie up the Cromwell Road end was about 25p. With you Sunday......

Sad News. First class defender and bloke. RIP.
-
So, as they have done it before, lets give Wigan 7 points from their last 4. Thats 41. Spurs away for us next. Safe my arse.
-
Wigan well capable of 2 wins and 2 draws from their last 4. I will take your 17th right now.

SAINTS 0-3 West Bromwich Albion // Post-Match Reaction
Kingsbridge Saint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Play like that again in the last two and we very well might go down. Forget Spurs, they are going to smash us. We were soooooo bad Saturday, going to take time to recover confidence after a humbling like that. -
Three more performances like Saturday and we can all look forward to getting the slide rules out in the last 5 minutes of the final day. This game might end badly even if we play well. We won't be 150/1 for relegation after this one.....

Heared the 606 Podcast this morning. York City Chairwoman I believe explaining that a drop out of L2 would have meant a revenue loss of £750,000 next season. When pressed on what % of club turnover that would represent she said 50%. So taking York City as a benchmark, the Pompey wage budget of $1.1M would be over 70% of York Citys turnover. Don't give me any bo110x about the Skates not being a top spending club next season. Pay some creditors, ya cheating b@stards.

There we go £10 on us to go down at 150/1 - there's value, right there. Also had a £10 saver on Newcastle at 9/1. Hope the saver comes in.

Whittingham talks a good prudent game, but will go native in due course. Absolutely guaranteed. Another admin within 2 years, for sure. Rinse and repeat. Disgusting club, and anyone dealing with them on credit terms will deserve every bit of pain coming their way.

If we lose the last 3 its going to be close. On that basis, we're not safe.
