  1. There's a chance that'll happen, although I think their injury situation means they'll have to play a number of their current first-choice starters, but I can guarantee nobody would be batting an eyelid if we were drawn against Spurs, who played 10 reserves plus Eric Dier (who's only started half their games this season) at Liverpool last night.
  2. £12 for a match in the last sixteen against another Premier League side is "too high"?! Looks like we'll actually have a very decent crowd tonight. The Itchen is fully sold out, as are blocks 40-43 in the Northam (with 44 also being open to home fans), and most of the Chapel as well.
  3. Yeah, pretty much, I think. When Keith decided to close Saints Forever, a few of us basically had a couple of days to come up with an alternative, so The Saints Forum was born - everyone had to re-register for that one. TSF then became SaintsWeb in 2008. So technically SaintsWeb is only 8 years old, but this incarnation of the forum has been running for a decade.
  4. And Lovren's been awful each time. His weak mentality can definitely be exploited there.
  5. Yeah, the timing of this game is unfortunate. Had it been the following Monday, we'd have had a much stronger side out tonight and given them a good run for their (loads of) money.
  6. Not the most difficult of tasks, tbf. Managed to get the stream working using Safari on Mac, wasn't working on Chrome.
  7. BT Sport 3, to be precise. Kickoff is 6pm, coverage starts at 5:30.
  8. No Redmond, the footage from Sunday showed him carrying an ice pack so assuming he's nursing a knock.
  9. Most places don't give a ****, never had a problem at tournaments, but there's a specific law in Italy which requires them to check the name on the ticket against suitable ID in away sections. Whether that's a passport, driving licence, or membership card (as they do for domestic games) doesn't really matter, but they do check. When England played in Turin last year, I saw around a dozen people turned away at the gate because the name on the ticket didn't match the person's ID - this was despite the game being 100% collections, so the actual person had collected their ticket in person and then sold it on. Also, it wasn't just some turnstile operator who wouldn't give a **** either way... it was the Robocop old bill who were doing the checks. Not sure what they've done for this game, whether there's some sort of electronic system that matches a ticket against a name/ID, the whole thing where they've ended up hand-writing names onto tickets is really weird.
  10. OK, so based on that idea, how many "chances" did we create against Burnley, as opposed to the 34 shots attempted? Does the number include dangerous crosses into the box that the striker misses or the defender intercepts at the last second, for example?
  11. Didn't about a third of those come in one game, though?
  12. Passport photocopies are generally accepted in most countries by police for spot checks - if they have any reason to question you further or arrest you, they would take you to fetch the original document.
  13. They're only available online.
  14. There are lockers at the central train station
  15. No game on Boxing Day is a genuine outrage
  16. I saw someone on there on Monday, within about 3 hours of the Man City tickets going on sale, trying to sell his three tickets. The bloke clearly had no intention of going, but wanted to get the credit for attending anyway.
  17. Technically, Leicester didn't live within their means, hence going into admin the year they went up with Pompey (their £30m stadium only actually cost them about £4m as a result), and then their current owner went on a big spending spree when he first bought the club - hence the likes of Sven in charge - but soon scaled that back when he realised it was all a stupid idea.
  18. The Saints Foundation are running a series of regional quizzes, with the winning teams from each event invited to a Grand Final at St Mary's hosted by Matt Le Tissier and Franny Benali. The London "heat" will be held on Thursday 13th October at the Grosvenor Casino in Russell Square, London. Things get underway at 7pm. Quiz topics are a mixture of Saints and general football. A free buffet will be provided. Entry for a team of 4 is £20, all proceeds to the Saints Foundation. If you cannot get a team of 4, you can enter individually for £5, turn up on the night and you'll be allocated a team. To enter, click here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/big-saints-quiz-tickets-27754997946, then click the "Register" button and select whether you're an individual or a team entry. There is no specific dress code for the evening, only that ripped jeans are not allowed. Would be great to get a few SaintsWeb-based teams entered for what should be an entertaining evening
  19. Eastleigh by a country mile. Free entry.
  20. I find it pretty unedifying to hear Rod Bransgrove bleating on Radio Solent saying that Durham should be relegated and we should, therefore, survive. Had we done the business on the pitch, it wouldn't even be an issue. Not as if we've been a pillar of fiscal responsibility during Bransgrove's reign to be taking any sort of moral high ground.
  21. Yes, basically.
  22. Because there will probably actually be an atmosphere, unlike at most Premier League games?
  23. Presumably at the end of the season when they go down, Davids Gold and Sullivan will use their programme notes to mention that "we have transport links that are the envy of the Premier League "
  24. Thought the view from the lower tier was excellent, no different to what you get at the Emirates, etc, really. Seen a few photos from the upper tier that look horrendous
