Many foreign owners are ****, some foreign owners are good. However, many British owners are also ****, while some are good. The odds generally aren't weighted in favour of a "good" owner, especially in the way the Liebherrs have performed here, regardless of nationality.

Not going to implement it on this version of the forum - we will be moving to new forum software in the not-too-distant future (hopefully this year), and that feature will be available there.

Yeah, sorry about that, my fault. Upgraded a component on the server (which I needed to be able to test the new forum), but it had a knock-on effect on the connection to the database. All fixed now

Saints 1 Sunderland 0 - Arsenal away in the quarter-final
stevegrant replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Bit odd/annoying that the allocation's split over the two tiers this time, though. -
He's worked for the FA before, hasn't he? Probably knows how much of a pointless exercise it would be.

Since when have they ever given a **** about anything like that? Free advertising, with subsequent secondary marketing when used tickets end up on ebay, etc.

It's only the "proper" rounds of the competition that UEFA cares about, clubs can more or less do what they want in the qualifiers.
-
That seems to basically be why they've done what they've done. The cameras are on the Kingsland side, so the ground will look fuller on TV.

He could, but my concern with playing him there (and similar with, potentially, Yoshida the other side) is that our game still relies quite a lot on the full-backs providing width. Stephens is predominantly a centre-back. That's not to say that he can't play at full-back, obviously, but I don't think I've seen him play there for the U23s or in his various loan spells.

It's basically this.

There's a chance that'll happen, although I think their injury situation means they'll have to play a number of their current first-choice starters, but I can guarantee nobody would be batting an eyelid if we were drawn against Spurs, who played 10 reserves plus Eric Dier (who's only started half their games this season) at Liverpool last night.

£12 for a match in the last sixteen against another Premier League side is "too high"?! Looks like we'll actually have a very decent crowd tonight. The Itchen is fully sold out, as are blocks 40-43 in the Northam (with 44 also being open to home fans), and most of the Chapel as well.

Yeah, pretty much, I think. When Keith decided to close Saints Forever, a few of us basically had a couple of days to come up with an alternative, so The Saints Forum was born - everyone had to re-register for that one. TSF then became SaintsWeb in 2008. So technically SaintsWeb is only 8 years old, but this incarnation of the forum has been running for a decade.

And Lovren's been awful each time. His weak mentality can definitely be exploited there.
-
Yeah, the timing of this game is unfortunate. Had it been the following Monday, we'd have had a much stronger side out tonight and given them a good run for their (loads of) money.

Not the most difficult of tasks, tbf. Managed to get the stream working using Safari on Mac, wasn't working on Chrome.

BT Sport 3, to be precise. Kickoff is 6pm, coverage starts at 5:30.

No Redmond, the footage from Sunday showed him carrying an ice pack so assuming he's nursing a knock.

Most places don't give a ****, never had a problem at tournaments, but there's a specific law in Italy which requires them to check the name on the ticket against suitable ID in away sections. Whether that's a passport, driving licence, or membership card (as they do for domestic games) doesn't really matter, but they do check. When England played in Turin last year, I saw around a dozen people turned away at the gate because the name on the ticket didn't match the person's ID - this was despite the game being 100% collections, so the actual person had collected their ticket in person and then sold it on. Also, it wasn't just some turnstile operator who wouldn't give a **** either way... it was the Robocop old bill who were doing the checks. Not sure what they've done for this game, whether there's some sort of electronic system that matches a ticket against a name/ID, the whole thing where they've ended up hand-writing names onto tickets is really weird.

Most chances created in Europe's top 5 leagues this season
stevegrant replied to magnet's topic in The Saints
OK, so based on that idea, how many "chances" did we create against Burnley, as opposed to the 34 shots attempted? Does the number include dangerous crosses into the box that the striker misses or the defender intercepts at the last second, for example? -

Didn't about a third of those come in one game, though? -
Passport photocopies are generally accepted in most countries by police for spot checks - if they have any reason to question you further or arrest you, they would take you to fetch the original document.

They're only available online.
