Maybe Harry's had a change of heart. He couldn't wait to get rid of the Scandinavians when he was here. The only one I can recall who has lasted any time with him was Hreidarsson at Pompey. Didn't he get rid of Iversen at Spurs as well.
Digressing somewhat but you don't see too many Italian players making the move to (or a success in) the Prem? I guess it's the same with the lack of British players in the other direction.
In all seriousness it's a big chunk regardless. The average of £25K you quote seems low but I know you are normally on the ball with these things so I'll take it as read. I wonder how many of the regular first teamers in say, the top 8 clubs are on this? Just a handful I would imagine.
It worries me too but it's becoming the 'norm' in this league. As someone alluded to earlier it's all relatively insignificant if it means staying in the league with the vastly increasing riches available in the Premier League next season. Hopefully the contracts are such that salaries will be chopped in the case of relegation to reflect the decrease in club revenue.
Your numeracy is not so hot is it? You've nearly 16K of very interesting non-repetitive posts and I have less that 1.5K in the same period. You do the math.
As fans we can't influence the situation and personally I won't sleep any better or worse if I do or don't know. It's up to the club to do what they see as fit in terms of communication of injuries.
I don't believe there is any 'hype' whatsoever. He is what he is, a player taken from non-league football and given a chance. Given more time and games he may well go on to make a decent career for himself. I doubt anyone thought he would be the next Bobby Moore.
In his defence he came to the professional game relatively late in life so is behind in that respect and in his time in the pro ranks he's not had that much game time. Think he could do a solid job for someone but not in the Prem, certainly at this point in time.
