3 league wins in a row....what we'd give for that. Shows that with the right change of manager things can happen. Don't think he's added any players, indeed I think their 'star' player Giles Barnes moved to Fulham(?).
-
I wondered about that, I believe he is a Japanese triallist.
-
Didn't JP alledgedly pay his own severance to his former Dutch club so he could manage SFC. Sounds like RL actually had the idea first, I hope he took a patent out.
-
I had a little chuckle at that. Not exactly experts in that field are they.
-
There seems to be a sense of inevitability that Lowe will lead SFC into a second relegation. This would surely make his position untenable however do you think he will step aside if this comes to pass?
-
I admire your confidence Tim, mine has all but been sapped from my body..

Tonights results appear to mean a(nother) nail in the SFC coffin....

Peter Reid for Manager - campaign needed..

Does that include the season he was with them when they were relegated with what was then the record low points tally? I remember them coming down to SMS that season and thinking at least they'll have a good go even though they're obviously struggling. But they came and rolled over with no apparent desire whatsoever. -
Cutting costs is very very easy. Cutting costs whilst maintaining an acceptable level of performance is not. I get a little tired of being continually told what a great job has been made of cutting costs. Well, in my book it's not a great job judging by our league position. What about the 10's (even 100's) of thousands that may or may not have been 'saved' by not employing Pearson or loaning out players I hear you say? Well, ask the bank if they'd prefer us a little further in the red but maintaining CCC status and therefore a more realistic opportunity of recouping those funds or dropping down another position. I know what their answer would be.

A fool is not someone who makes a mistake but someone who makes the same mistake twice (or more for that matter). I couldn't pick any particular one as being more significant than any other as they are relative to that moment in time and specific circumstances.

...Gary Player I think...anyway, any luck involved has to even itself out over the course of a season....hence we are 23rd. Or, assuming we've been horrifically unlucky as JP and Wotte would have us beleive and that we are due a whole load of luck in the remaining 14 games then we will probably finish 8th
-
Sounds like you went to the game, could you give us some player ratings.
-
Wotte's continual references to being unlucky are getting somewhat tiresome. You make your own luck Wotte, simple.

I think this is a one-off i.e. Friday night out as the Watford game was cancelled. The curfews always used to commence two days prior to a game so not big nights out on Thursdays and Fridays. I've been critical of some of Wotte's comments up until now but have to say he's made some appropriate observations in this article. I especially like the one about having 23rd position in the table written on your nose!
-
Specifically in pointing the finger at Crouch for 'ploughing the club into so much debt'. I think it's fair to say that this has been debated to death and there is a consensus of agreement that he did no such thing during his tenure. Hone and his gang yes but Crouch no. The rest of your post I agree with. I'm not a fan of Crouch by any stretch but let's try and stick to facts.

Not many takers for DMG it seems, most have not even included him in their squads. I'd like to see Paterson given a few games alongside Saga to see what they can offer as a partnership.
-
You're quite right it's not the thread for that but you still took the opportunity to re-write history I see.
-
I think they have adopted this new stance as apparently they were absolutely furious that they didn't get the exclusive on 'Wotte thinks Hiddink is fantastic' article. That'll learn 'em.

Some American chaps. I just happen to have a list of some possible candidates..

Protest stage 2: February 21st, meeting at bargate again.

Now there's an idea....oops, wait a minute.... -
I can only assume that's what they are trying to achieve. This should go in the Golden OS Article Archive along with those pearlers from when Lowe was trying to maintain his grip on the Chairmanship.
-
As with many threads on the forum this started with some good debate but has yet again deteroiorated into childish name calling by the usual offenders. Painful.

Sorry TDD I'm not sure I understand your point. I was very sceptical when Pearson came on board but he just seemed to do the simple things we had been missing - organisation, structure and shape. I'm not by any means suggesting he is the messiah but what he demonstrated in those few months gave a good indication he could do a job for us this year. The arguments against his continued appointment all seem to have been subsequently shown as propoganda. He was certainly less of a rish than the Dutch experiment IMO.
-
Yes some folk find it very convenient to forget the direction the club was going in when Pearson took over and the performances, results, motivation and morale in the preceding weeks but that doesn't fit with their agenda so is brushed to one side. It demonstrates a lack of objectivity.

You have too much time on your hands Trousers...but I'm glad you have as you brighten up this god forsaken forum at times!
