  1. Hello from St. Mary's! Hope all you enjoy the dry and warm! Looking forward to seeing you at our next Premiership match or maybe the final if we get there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. What a great 1st half! Well done lads. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I must admit it seems a bit churlish to moan about anything this season. I do hope we take the FA cup a bit more serious though. We're not going to finish in the top 4 so we can go for the FA cup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. How many points have we got since resting the first team against Sunderland? Would love another cup final. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. So glad that wasn't us scoring the winning goal against Chelsea. Much rather qualify for champions league. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. It's amazing that some people thought Barnard was a better option than Lampard! At no point has he ever been a better player. Barnard might run about more; but surely we have always wanted more from our footballers than that?
  7. Who would have guessed that Stephen Lee was greedy? What did he accept; a pasty and a tube of pringles for every frame he chucked?

    The Y word

I hope you told you the audience what you thought of them? It’s important that people stand up to racism where ever they find it. I can imagine the scene with mums and dads giving him anti-Semitic abuse in front of their impressionable children. The ironic thing is that I don’t think Captain Hook is Jewish. He looks more like a Gypo to me.
  9. This is a strange thread; analysing someone’s life to date! Maybe we could do this with other users, looking at their life choices and evaluating where they are. I would volunteer but I think I might be found wanting! In answer to your question SuperMikey I worked in a call centre after travelling and did not find it too bad to begin with. Keep looking around though as it is not a job most people can stick with for over a year.
  10. The atmosphere seems to have gone a bit flat as well. I did find myself thinking at half-time if the money for my season ticket was well spent this year. Have not had that doubt for a few seasons. It's early days and if we had managed to score one today I'm sure we would all be a lot happier with life tonight!
  11. It’s ridiculous to talk about sacking him after one defeat, but it would have been interesting to see what would have happened if a replacement had not been lined up before Adkins was replaced. I don’t believe MP would have got much support to become the next manager, I think more would have gone for Di Matteo. But then again I’m not sure who else was available at the time either.
  12. It's a shame that we did not sign Osvaldo earlier and work out our best front four before the season started. I can't believe that from all the options available we can't find a combination that can score plenty of goals from open play. The only thing that concerns me is the lack of pace. I would find a place for Cork though.
  13. The beer was warm at half-time in the Chapel. Not great at 4 quid a bottle.
  14. Can't understand the problem of wanting to buy food in the ground? I'm sure everyone can go 90 minutes without eating or drinking but that's not the point is it? I'll be interested in what Turkish find acceptable in general life. Does he only ever eat at home? Is using a cafe acceptable? Maybe a meal in a pub? If you're out all day do you wait until you get home and prepare a proper meal. Please help because I would hate to think I was living my life in anyway he might find unacceptable.
  15. Be interesting to see if Micah Richards plays for City tonight. Would love to see him come in. I know, I know I'm being greedy, but after the last three transfers anything is possible!
  16. Suprised people are not more worried about Chambers at right back. Just because he has come through our youth set up does not mean he will make it in the Premiership. Fox is not as bad as people on here make out.
  17. Not that bothered either. I'm sick of all the stories about Rooney, Suarez and Bale and the stupid amounts of money involved in football at the moment. I'm sure that once I'm in the pub before the first match I'll start getting excited though. Will just have to close my eyes and pretend that we're playing in a different kit during the game!
  18. So proud and pleased for him. I'm sure I was not the only person who went mental when it hit the back of the net. Proud evening.
  19. I voted no as I’m not sure either way and I could see the yes vote did not need my help. No doubt he has done a good job. I still do not think it was right to sack Adkins and the way it was done was disgusting. My main problem though is with the over optimism a lot of fans have got about the future if Cortese stays. Increased capacity, qualifying for the Champions’ League and beating established teams to the signing of international players if he stays. If he goes it will be a disaster on par with 9/11 (according to some!). This is not the case is it? It’s good to aim high but you will find plenty of examples of teams falling flat on their faces after over stretching. I would feel a lot more comfortable if we lived within our means and did not rely on anyone subsidising us. Anyway stay or go, you will still find me enjoying a pint before and supporting the team during the match as I have done for the past 30 years.
  20. Wayne Bridge, so I've been told.
  21. So if we go down this season it will be the fans fault will it? The only reason we might go down is because of this terrible decision to sack Adkins. The fans will do their best to get behind the team; but if things go wrong the atmosphere will be hostile. The anger will not be the fans fault; you need to blame the person who casued the anger. This is one massive gamble by Cortese.
  22. Thanks Nige for everything you've done for us. I've enjoyed nearly every minute and will always treasure the memories. I'm sure you will move on from this and come back stronger.
  23. The worrying thing for me is the amount of fans buying into this "vision" that we wll be competing for a top 6 place shortly. It is even acceptable to sack the most popular manager we have had because this is the only way we will get to this promised land. Some of you guys are acting more like members of some weird cult than supporters of the club. If I was a betting man I would say it's going to end in tears. Even if we do become the next new "big" club will it all be worth it?
  24. Think I'm going to have to take a break from the club as well. I've never felt so gutted and angry at the same time. Oh for 5 minutes in the same room as Cortese.
  25. Not sure about that. I for one would take relegation better than this. It will certainly change the view of people of Southampton and no manager would ever feel safe under Cortese. Just check twitter to see the anger this decision would bring with it; that would not go away in a hurry and return with every defeat.
