"Saints considering Mauricio Pochettino" - Daily Mirror
St.JonB replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I know Southampton Football Club is bigger than any manager or player, but if this does come true I would find it very hard to renew my season ticket. Does not make any sense apart from certain individuals showing the power they hold. -
If Southampton do play the Christmas tree formation I'm sure it will be the "Upside Down" Christmas tree. Four up front with one defender at the back.
-
I would be gutted if Adkins was sacked but if we had lost against Villa, and then the next couple as well the pressure would have been immense. I think that's what made the result so pleasing.

League 1 goalkeeper. League 1 defenders. League 1 Puncheon.

Rather than post stupid threads why don't you start going to matches? Please stop posting anymore because your opinion is not worth the steam off my **** -
Come on we all know our defence was not that good in the Championship. We are going to need a few goals and a bit of luck at the back to get any points from any game. Maybe a couple of defenders (with Premiership experience!) in January?
-
Just noticed that them down the road are at home this weekend as well. If they had not moved our game for TV we would be playing at the same time. I did not think this happened (or have they falling so far they do not count anymore)? It would have made my trip home to Portchester interesting anyway.

I think Hansen was right when he stated that "You're win anything with older players".
-
I hope the club realise that the window shuts at 11pm next Friday. Who ever has been tasked to call the Celtic Reserve manager about our next CB needs to do it slightly earlier this window!
-
So Pompey fans don't boo their own players? Not sure that Dave Kitson would agree with that.
-
He was not good enough for us when we were in League 1 (that seems a long time ago!). You're all right though; he is too good for them.

Who Is The Worst Company you Have Had The Misfortune To Have To Deal With

What a complete shambles our ticket office is!!

I have to prove the age of my under 11 son yet again, even though I supplied his birth certificate last season (which they took a copy of). I know they have a lot of customers to deal with, but their service is shoddy. -
I like Henry Hill the gangster, but I also like Harry Hill from tv..................................

To the wonderful tune of Go Compare: "Jay Rodriguez" "Jay Rodriguez" "Jay Rodriguez is a very good player" Simple but brilliant.
-
Why would Norwich be offering a contract to a player that is already under contract with a club? Also don't you think they would be offering Holt that sort of money if they could. File under bulls**t.
-
Also gone down the putting money on West Ham route. Will be lots of us hoping to lose money to the bookies tonight!
-
Well done Saints. So proud of you. Everytime it starts to look dodgy we step up and get a result. Adkins is our King!
-
We always send someone down 5 minutes before half-time to get the beers in. Otherwise we would not get one. Unthinkable. Always stay at the end to clap the players off though.

He was poor at Millwall. He is getting his chances in the team since his injury but has not hit earlier form by a long shot.

Rickie Lambert - Championship Player of the Year 2011/12
St.JonB replied to saintmatt's topic in The Saints
He has been brilliant for us. If he had a bit more pace he would play for England. Like the great MLT, even when he is having a quiet game he can still win it for us with a special moment. -
I have got my three tickets. I'm taken my 91 year old Nan and my 6 month old baby. Can't wait!
-
He was terrible against Millwall. He looked like he had lead boots on and spent the whole time he was on the pitch running 10 yards behind the play. I don't think he would get in our first 11 even when fully fit; but he is a good squad member and will get another chance before long.
-
Do people remember transfer windows of old when we were desperate for them to finish in case we lost players? Surely we are in a better place now even if we don't pull off a major signing.
-
I agree it has to be Schneiderlin he was brilliant. By far the best game I've seen him play for us. However he needs to put in more performances like this for us doubters to believe he is the real deal. One great game a season does not make him a Premiership star. Also SDR played well but I think the reason he did not get more votes is because of his crossing. I know we scored from one but there were more that went astray.
