  1. The best tory is a dead one
  2. As a parent one of your duties is educate your off-spring & teach right from wrong. I correctly educated both my boys from a young age. They both know they will be sleeping in the shed should their alliegances change.
  3. Congratulations to both of you. 9lb 7oz - that's gonna sting.
  4. I was always a Thomas fan, and thought he used to get a lot of unjustified stick from some on here, but he plugged a hole when we needed it & when called on always put in a good shift. Good luck Wayno and enjoy the sunshine.
  5. Completely untrue, my mate who this happend to: was literally walking past trying to avoid getting caught up in it, he is not the violent or mouthy type & that night he wasn't even drinking as he was driving his mates around, he was literally in the wrong place at the wrong time. So to say "if your not looking for trouble you won't get any" is quite ridiculous & untrue.
  6. Defininetly true for physical injuries, not sure this is necessarily the case for neurological injuries though.
  7. Bloody hell, that's awful news. Best wishes to Dan for a full recovery. 9 Months ago, a mate of mine was thrown down some steps by bouncers. He still sufferes double vision, headaches & is unable to drive, the tragic thing is he was totally innocent & was just walking past a scuffle. Sadly I fear DS will not play again this season.
  8. Bugger, I forgot that was on. I was going to take the little Geezers to it.
  9. I'm guessing there will be no BBC fans forum again this year, as the dates for Bornemouth & The Skates were announced on Solent at the weekend.
  10. How are they travellers if they own the land, and have been resident on it for so long? There doesn't seem to be a lot of travelling going on. Ethnic Cleansing (according to wiki, the official United Nations definition of ethnic cleansing is "rendering an area ethnically homogeneous by using force or intimidation to remove from a given area persons of another ethnic or religious group.") is over dramatising it a bit. Eviction, certainly.
  11. Agree. The boys over at the Ugly won't be happy either.
  12. As someone else said Pards took over a ramshackle, demoralised mob (not just the "team", but the club - remember the comment about no scouting network being in place), and fairly quickly turned it into a good (cup winning) team. I was disappointed when he went, but it did appear that the squad lacked the enthusiasm of the first season. Now though I think NC made the correct decision and I couldn't be happier that we have NA in charge. It should be remembered though that the bulk of the current team is still Pardews.
  13. Here's one: I seem to recall from my goalkeeping days, the 6 second rule, ie the GK can ony handle the ball for 6 secs, otherwise an indirect free kick is given against, I was the victim of this a few times until I wised up. It seems that nowadays, keepers keep hold of the ball for a lot longer without fear of punishment (or own Super Kelv is often guilty of this). Has this rule been recinded? Incidentally, when I started playing in goal, you could bounch the ball around the penalty area ad nauseum.
  14. We? Man Utd aren't in the championship!
  15. Shilts, no contest. When he was with us he was rated as the best keeper in the world, and despite being great keepers in their own right that's not something that was ever said about Niemi orFlowers. Much as I like Super Kelv he's not in the same class as the aforementioned. We've been very lucky at Saints to have had some magnificent keepers through our doors, some (like Budgie, Grob, Woods & Bessant were on the wane when they played for us, although on their day & certainly prevoiusly in their careers they were fantastic keepers.
  16. Charlies on the Triangle for me, a lot less greasier than Andys & Mikes at Midanbury. Good portion sizes too, 2 lots of small chips is enough for the 4 of us.
  17. Bit of a shame, as he showed a lot of promise, but he was never going to get past the 3 in front of him. I wish him well for the future, and I'm sure he will do well.
  18. Sorry to hear of your predicament Alps. Get well soon.
  19. We have played with 3 Marks at back, Wright, Whitlock & Dennis. Mark Whitlock was known as "Albert", as in Albert Tatlock of Coronation Street.
  20. I noticed it a couple of times, when we left 3 up, they left 3 back.
  21. She's a Chelsea fan & writes about it quite often in her column in The Daily Mirror.
  22. Why would you call your son "House"?
  23. Bloody 'ell. I didn't expect that. What a game, shame about the pen, didn't look like one where I was (about as far away as you can get). I always said last years team would be ok this year & with the exception of Cork, that's exactly what it was, and they didn't look at all out of their depth, Leeds are no mugs. I'm confident about this season. Bring on the Skates.
  24. It would be more helpful if you could rate them with this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_Stool_Scale For your delight & delectation, I'm generaly a Type 4, but due to a rather unfortunate, yet sometimes quite spectacular, bowel complaint I can occasionally get to a Type 6 at short notice. Before diagnosis I was doing a 7. You really don't want to be either in my way, or following me in to the thunder-box when I have a flare-up.
