Borini would be a good signing. Seem to recall he was fairly injury prone though.
-
If that's true, I have zero respect for that. How can you expect people to respect that? Unless they're offering 30 mil...
-
He was also terrible their home game v West Ham. The two times i've seen them live this season and he's been awful. Seen on TV a couple more times and not been much better.
-
Jedinak?! I've never seen such a limited passer of a football in the premier league (especially in central midfield). Being quite local, have seen Palace live quite a few times (although only 3 times this season), and he's been absolutely shocking more times than he's been decent. Have heard reports from season ticket holding mates that he's upped his game recently, but even they admit he's not very good. He's more of a cult hero cos he's so bad he's good sort of thing. He's nowhere near the level of Wanyama / Schneiderlin / Cork. Admitedly is decent in the air, but I'm really surprised he's played so many games this year.

Freddy Adu?!

Carlo Costly or John Boye - need some good names in the team.

How many do you think will be sold if any?

Has Lallana ever hinted at wanting to leave? Would be surprised if he did - captain, star of the team, local lad playing for his first proper club and getting international recognition. Obviously champions league and a bigger pay packet elsewhere, but might not get in the team, already earns more than most do in a year in a week here, is settled here etc - why's everyone so sure he wants more than what we're providing? Think Shaw will go, followed by Osvaldo and Schniederlin. Would be gutted to lose Morgan, but as others have said, we have 2 other very good options there in Cork and Wanyama. Would need a new left back, unless we can teach Clyne (who's always looked extremely one footed) learn how to kick with his left, and can promote someone from the under 21s. Sure we'd get a new striker whatever happens, and possibly keeper and centre back. -
Terrible goalkeeping for their second! Omar Rowe looking good, as he has done a few times i've seen him!

England Squad? Or irrelevant tat? You decide...

Yes I do. It's a sticker / card collection... Just giving my opinion like you do on a forum. Just thinking that Gibbs must be 4th choice at left back, Johnson probably first choice right back, and Cleverley about 25th best in his position (but still somehow in top 3 / 4 choices normally)... I'm sorry! -

Surely Gibbs is behind Shaw in the pecking order? Also no Glen Johnson? If Tom Cleverley goes Hodgson will be a laughing stock. -
That's fair enough then. Obviously needs game time, just fingers crossed everyone stays fit, and he can come off the bench and grab another goal or two (or five) by the end of the season! 3-0 final score?
-
More that we're so short upfront that we'd risk an injury rather than him being tired. I know he'd only be likely to be on the bench, but imagine if Lambert or J-Rod got injured in training this week...
-
Am I right in thinking that a few of the Fulham youngsters have also recently been getting some first team game time? Young centre back Burn and striker Woodrow(?) have looked pretty good in recent weeks. I'm guessing those guys arent playing today though. Surprised we've put Gallagher in the team with him now fairly firmly in our first team plans.
-
so we're not actually on it?
-
Brighton's ground is also partially sunk into the ground / built on a hill, which would've been expensive to excavate and level. Not 50 millions worth, but they did have some costs with that.
-
He'd be a solid if unspectacular signing, possibly similar to Steven Davis in status? Would be the cheap option, but I doubt it's us.
-
Would people really play Clyne at left back? He's totally one footed!
-
Good to see he's got a big club. Hope Birmingham stay up and he has lots of game time and earns a longer contract.
-
Thanks for the service Danny. Was good in the promotion season and was part of some very good team performances since. Are we bringing in another left back??
-
Why are they far nearer the squad? Neither have ever made a significant senior appearance for us (unless Stephens has had a cup run out), and the reports from the youth matches havent been amazing either. Obviously we hope that they are stars of the future, but there's not really any reason why a guy who has played some first team matches alongside Fonte and Hooiveld wouldnt be picked above the others.
-
Hmm, thought he was potentially only an injury to one of Fonte, Hooiveld or Yoshida to being on the bench with Lovren out for a while. Unless of course they are thinking Wanyama is back soon (tonight?) and can fill in?
-
Would've thought the new head would've wanted to show the continuing ambition with a new signing, not just 'we wont sell any players' stuff. We've shown we've got a good first 11, but desperately lacking if 2 or 3 players are out in key areas. I'd say if we want to keep in the top half (and assuming we dont have Osvaldo, along with Ramirez and most importantly Lovren for upto 2 months) we'd need to bring someone else in up front or at centre back. Lets see.
-
Any streams?
-
Is Guly back for this one then?
-
Despite being totally one footed? I think Clyne's a great player, but it's weird that he always wants to do everything with his right foot. I've always thought his turns particularly dont look very natural, but his pace helps him a fair bit with that.
