Pretty awful game on what looked like quite a poor pitch. Saints were in control and never really threatened apart from the disallowed goal, which was offside, but pretty tight! Thought Long and Fonte both very impressive, obviously much better than Ipswich. Reed looked competent if unspectacular, but Targett had an absolute nightmare. Was played slightly out of position, but never looked comfortable at all. Ward-Prowse and Davis need to get their shooting boots on. Hopefully Cork is fit for the weekend, cos being without Schneiderlin, Wanyama and Alderwereld are massive losses now.

Very true. Davis and Gazzaniga arent really good enough at this level (still holding out a bit of hope for Gazza after maybe a lower league loan) - I would just think somebody as an understudy rather than spending a massive amount on a keeper would be a better plan at this stage.

Replacing Boruc should be the least of our priorities... Striker, Left Back, Potentially Centre Back, Attacking midfielder all more important at this stage.

Dont forget though, Palace had a good season and played most of that with two of the worst passers in the Premier League playing as their central midfield pair - Jedinak and Dikgacoi... Wanyama and Cork make us very strong there, and who knows, maybe given a run Mayuka could grab a few goals?

Worst case would be more like this: Davis Clyne Yoshida Jos Targett Cork Wanyama Sinclair Davis Reed Gallagher / Mayuka Assuming Ramirez, Boruc, Chambers all go too. Mayuka will likely be back next season, whether we want him or not!! I still think he has potential to do a job off the bench.

Gutting that my favourite player is treating us like this. Imagine the horror of having to only be paid a good years salary in a week, captain a premier league team and play at the world cup! Probably his agent putting poisonous thoughts in his head more than him just deciding he's much too good for us etc. Agents are the biggest problem with the modern game.

Borini would be a good signing. Seem to recall he was fairly injury prone though.

He was also terrible their home game v West Ham. The two times i've seen them live this season and he's been awful. Seen on TV a couple more times and not been much better.

Jedinak?! I've never seen such a limited passer of a football in the premier league (especially in central midfield). Being quite local, have seen Palace live quite a few times (although only 3 times this season), and he's been absolutely shocking more times than he's been decent. Have heard reports from season ticket holding mates that he's upped his game recently, but even they admit he's not very good. He's more of a cult hero cos he's so bad he's good sort of thing. He's nowhere near the level of Wanyama / Schneiderlin / Cork. Admitedly is decent in the air, but I'm really surprised he's played so many games this year.

Has Lallana ever hinted at wanting to leave? Would be surprised if he did - captain, star of the team, local lad playing for his first proper club and getting international recognition. Obviously champions league and a bigger pay packet elsewhere, but might not get in the team, already earns more than most do in a year in a week here, is settled here etc - why's everyone so sure he wants more than what we're providing? Think Shaw will go, followed by Osvaldo and Schniederlin. Would be gutted to lose Morgan, but as others have said, we have 2 other very good options there in Cork and Wanyama. Would need a new left back, unless we can teach Clyne (who's always looked extremely one footed) learn how to kick with his left, and can promote someone from the under 21s. Sure we'd get a new striker whatever happens, and possibly keeper and centre back.

Just thinking that Gibbs must be 4th choice at left back, Johnson probably first choice right back, and Cleverley about 25th best in his position (but still somehow in top 3 / 4 choices normally)... Surely Gibbs is behind Shaw in the pecking order? Also no Glen Johnson? If Tom Cleverley goes Hodgson will be a laughing stock.
