  1. The way we have played in the last two home games we could score a hatful. The way we played at WW, we will be lucky to draw 0-0. I hope to goodness, we start from tomorrow, in getting winning results on not so good pitches.
  2. As I put on the match thread as he was mentioned on there, he is the son of Mark Chamberlain.[A mate of mine knows MC]. He is very highly thought of at the club, hence the cameo at the end of the game.
  3. Oxlade -Chamberlain is the son of Mark Chamberlain.[A mate of mine knows MC].
  4. Absolutely magnificent performance, Duncan[FF],has said it as it really was. If we can get 3 points on the Tranmere gluepot, I would not be surprised to see another 30,000 crowd at home to Leeds.
  5. Lets hope if Trotman plays he has a mare like he did a few time here. I reckon there will be a minimum of 4 goals, hopefully we get at least 3 of them.
  6. Top man, yes. Top manager,we will see. The problem I have is that yesterdays performance should be very much the norm, especially with the offensive players we have at the club at present. Some of the away performances have been dire.[WW the only away game I have seen was shambolic]. Only my opinion of course. I am not saying I expect to score 5, and dominate every game, but there is no reason , why we cannot be more attacking , especially away from home. I guess what I am really saying has AP played to his strengths with the players at his disposal.[Are dodgy away pitches and new players really an excuse?]
  7. Everything off the pitch is top drawer, it is the inconsistency of those on it that is the problem.[With the players we have we should be hovering around the play-off places at the very least].
  8. Steve Claridge makes some good points as does Clifford Nelson on here
  9. Yeovi and Brighton scored nine goals on that pitch between them, so presumably they had the sense to use the very playable wings.
  10. What a game to pick for my first away game of the season. We were second to every ball, and although we had arguably the best two chances of the game[Lambert and Lallana], we were very fortunate to get a point. Wycombe, should have scored in the first minute, and the way we played we would not have equalised by christmas. Also why did we not use the wings more, they were far easier to play through than the minefield through the centre we continually tried to use.
  11. Magnificent post aussiesaint20, I am glad you chose to support our magnificent club. Next time you come to St Marys let me know and I will arrrange to meet you at the game. I will also take you for a beer afterwards. Regards Andy[corsacar saint]
  12. We have the players, but I think it is a massive ask. I think unfortunately my pre season prediction of 8th will be about right.
  13. In my opinion Connolly is the best footballer at the club, so should if fit be in the side, for Leigh Barnard. However fitness is always likely to be a problem with DC. [i have no doubts that Barnard is a capable replacement for DC, before people assume I do not rate him. I just think when fit DC is a class act].
  14. Totally elated, hope for the same performance and result against Wycombe, which will be my first away game of the season. Delighted for Lee Barnard.
  15. Norwich have a manager who goes out to win every game, they also have Wes Hoolahan. [i am not knocking Pardew here, but perhaps if he had Paul Lamberts mindset we would be much higher in the league].
  16. Play like we did the first hour against Portsmouth we have a real chance. Play like we did the first hour against Stockport we have no chance.
  17. If we do not go up next year, it may become an issue. As Tommy Mooney said on sky football league show the other night - Does he want to move out of his comfort zone? Also he is only settling into his recently acquired house, near a mate, so I am not sure he would want another moving upheaval just now.
  18. Proud to be a Saint, we lacked a little bit of composure in the final third, and were caught out with pace on the break in the final twenty minutes. However up until they scored, it was only David James who had saved them from being out of the game by then.
  19. Heart says 2-1 Saints. Head says Portsmouth by 2 goals.
  20. I am pretty sure when Luton played S****horpe in last years final, they got 40,000 tickets after a big struggle, but baring in mind S****horpe only took 15,000. Let us hope common sense prevails and if we can sell 40-45,000 tickets ,then that is what we will receive.
  21. Good luck Daren.
  22. The players here should be good enough to be top six minimum. It is time they started showing mental toughness.[since early december the football as a whole has been turgid]. I am personally delighted with NC and ML and the signings, but now the players have to repay the clubs faith in bringing them here on good wages. It is definately a worry if the mental toughness is lacking, because it will be needed even more next year when we are favourites to go up. NC was totally right with what he said.
  23. Nothing wrong with any of the signings,[ maybe with the exception of Otsemibor] however it may have been difficult to get another right back in. Although perhaps Volz would have been worth a shout.
  24. If NC is saying with the players we now have, that we should be winning games we are drawing and losing[last 5 away performances], I agree totally.
  25. Delighted you are sorted with ticket Tim.
