  1. If you read what CMS, Earnshaw and a number of others said about there reasons for joining their new clubs it was that the manager made them feel that they were really wanted at the club or that the manager really sold the vision of the club to them. If Adkins is not really involved in the negotiations then this might play a factor in the seemingly lack of interest from players or maybe Adkins cant sell the vision very well
  2. the saints players were singing we are southampton we dont care about you and the crowd where singing you dirty skate b@stards
  3. Are we signing Owen?
  4. saints player is a flash site and iphones dont support flash - so i dont think there will be an upgrade anytiem soon - shame really
  5. this bodes well for taking the rest of the team through to the premiership reasonable intact - if he is a sort after premiership player then that means a lot of squad are already very good premiership quality
  6. I have made an enquiry for Pulis on behalf of Crown and Anchor FC - I'll let you know what they say
  7. i usually sit in the Chapel and I am not be critical of the Northam but it never sounds particularly loud from the Chapel - however on Sat it sounded superb with the extra blocks and that set the rest of the ground off - I also thought that the Chapel sounded equally as great in the one or two songs that they all got going. This season no matter what people in the Northam think - both United and Brighton were much louder than our home support in the Northam - Next season when we have a lot of big travelling away support - i think it will equal out our support and not create an intimidating atmosphere for the opposition. I definately think we need to move the away support somewhere to take over the whole of the Northam - this may not create as much banter there but will significantly improve the overall atmosphere at SMS
  8. Butterfield is a good defender but will never run with the ball therefore limits our attacks from the back unlike harding and dickson he will not run beyond the midfielders or certainly not to the by line - if he does get the ball in the oppositions half he can deliver in a good ball - so although i wont criticise him - I think we can improve
  9. exeter winning at plymouth - another piece of the jigsaw falling into place
  10. rang about an hour ago and got three tickets - they said they had just re released some, had only blocks 1,2,3 and 25
  11. yeah - had same problem you need to ring or email ticket office - they will clear it and send you a new one
  12. apparently the ball boys were withdrawn 10 mins from the end of the match in case of a pitch invasion and thats why all the stewards were out around the whole pitch - funny thing was that it worked completely against them, there was a ball just behind Davis goal but he ran all the way to the perimeter fence to pick the one that went out of play
  13. The roof of the ground is used for advertising and it is the largest outdoor advertising space in the world
  14. I have been told that if they win on Saturday then they will become champions and will be presented with the trophy at our game - i am sat in the Brighton end - so this is going to be unbearable unless Hammond scores a hatrick and celebrates in front of the South stand again
  15. real madrid have just brought Kaka as a sub - why cant we have sub's like that
  16. Ive got my tickets through one of the Brighton players
  17. Brighton and Utd
  18. I was there with a leeds supporting mate of mine - walked into the carpark to see a massive line of mounted police then just stood on the bank watching the leeds fans charge the police, get hit a few times and then run back - nutters
  19. i thought tiss was le God and Adam was La god
  20. saints player looks promising for tonight - just went on to see if any latest news videos and all cocked up - you can only watch Hartlepool review from Dec
  21. why didnt Adkins bring on N'guessan when he replaced Guly could of gone with our wide men as usual - Richardson in Midfield and then Forte up front just didnt make sense
  22. Totally agree with this - who goes in a big group that can start this off
  23. it was nt to do with the fact that he could nt bring on quality players - it was to do with the fact that fergusion changed his shape because it wasnt working in the 1st half - where as when it was clear that our shape wasnt working in the 2nd half - we didnt change our shape - we played with no width on more than one occassion schnedlin and chaplow had no options wide to pass. Also Leeds last season proved that utds ok lets say 2nd string team can be beaten. Also at no point have i slagged the team off I thought they were outstanding yesterday and played the better football for most of it. I assume that those that have critised me, think the shape was perfect in the 2nd half or that its fine to bury your head in the sand and not change things just cross your fingers and hope for the best
  24. If you really want to put it in perspective the majority of the utd team were their 3rd string players - which we could of and should of beaten - Giggs isnt he 37 FFS
  25. I think today highlighted why Fergusion is a great manager and Adkins is a league one manager - after the 1st half Fergusion realised there was no width so he changed it around and Utd got back into the game in the 2nd half. So while it worked for us in the 1st half it clearly didnt work in the 2nd half. our only threat in the 2nd half was when Harding did run down the wing. AOC was ineffectual today as he played down the middle and had no space to run in to. When the subs were finally made we stayed in the same shape - most of them playing out of position. I think Adkins bottled it. No compliants with the players - put everything into it. Regarding the singing, i think you only get a true perspective if you sit in the Chapel end - although we could make out what they were singing in the Northam it was hardly impressive - when the Utd fans got their act together it was far more impressive although nothing compared to when BHA came down. when we get back to the promised land of the premiership i think this will be a real issue and will not create the cauldren that we all want
