pardew left because he treated all the staff like sh*te - he had no respect for anyone and didnt trust his coaches - he would set wilkins a task then come over and interfere all the tme - all the staff hated him - Markus and Cortese didnt like this as it didnt fit in with there vision of the culture they wanted wiithin the club. there was no big incident pardew and downes were all emailed to come in for a 8am meeting - cortese then rang wilkins to tell him he didnt need to come to the meeting and the other two are now history

I agree surely there must be a song out there for him I still remember the good old days at the dell when we used to sing each of the players songs at the start of match until they gave us a wave
-
its a must win tonight

if we do end up getting either of these players - NA is not going to pay all that money and then not play them - that means he will have to drop either Connolly or Rickie - I think it would be very unfair and send out wrong message to drop connolly therefore that means leaving our Rickie which I cant see happening
-
my concern is that we are still 100% reliant on Lallana - if he lasts the season great but if he is injured then we will struggle - I cant see us getting a like for like cover but believe we need to bring in players or a player that we can change the shape and still be as affective
-
Surely Adkins wont drop his captain so that will mean Hammond and Cork in the middle with Spiderman dropping down to the bench
-
If you read what CMS, Earnshaw and a number of others said about there reasons for joining their new clubs it was that the manager made them feel that they were really wanted at the club or that the manager really sold the vision of the club to them. If Adkins is not really involved in the negotiations then this might play a factor in the seemingly lack of interest from players or maybe Adkins cant sell the vision very well

this bodes well for taking the rest of the team through to the premiership reasonable intact - if he is a sort after premiership player then that means a lot of squad are already very good premiership quality

it cant be said now that SMS does not create a great atmosphere
richardc replied to OldNick's topic in The Saints
i usually sit in the Chapel and I am not be critical of the Northam but it never sounds particularly loud from the Chapel - however on Sat it sounded superb with the extra blocks and that set the rest of the ground off - I also thought that the Chapel sounded equally as great in the one or two songs that they all got going. This season no matter what people in the Northam think - both United and Brighton were much louder than our home support in the Northam - Next season when we have a lot of big travelling away support - i think it will equal out our support and not create an intimidating atmosphere for the opposition. I definately think we need to move the away support somewhere to take over the whole of the Northam - this may not create as much banter there but will significantly improve the overall atmosphere at SMS -
Butterfield is a good defender but will never run with the ball therefore limits our attacks from the back unlike harding and dickson he will not run beyond the midfielders or certainly not to the by line - if he does get the ball in the oppositions half he can deliver in a good ball - so although i wont criticise him - I think we can improve
