  1. It's a tricky one. Pards seems reluctant to play Papa up there, and Connolly's groin injury is causing me some concern. Can't see us bringing in another one, but if we get another injury, we'll be struggling up top.
  2. Papa is still why we're in the JPT! I have a feeling we'll need him before the season is out.
  3. Ha ha! - No, I read previously that he'd just returned back from a loan deal with Brentford. (Plus I should've read what others before me had posted!)
  4. Wonder if John Bostock might come in on loan from Spurs? He's been at Brentford for a while, and just returned from a loan spell. Not sure how he's developed, but he used to be considered a hell of a prospect. (I always used to poach him and Moses on the old Football manager!)
  5. Sad day for them though. I remember how I felt on the day we went into admin.
  6. We could (just about) field 3 teams. (Granted, I've had to dig deep into the reserves for it!) It's going to be so important with all the games we've got coming up. The pleasing thing for me over the last couple of cup games is that we've had the fringe players coming in and doing a really solid job for us. Gives me plenty of optmisim for the rotation that's bound to happen. ---------------------Davis ---------------------Bart -------------------Forecast Murty---------Fonte-------Jaidi---------Harding Otsemobor----Perry-----Seaborne-------Mills Thomas-----Lancashire---Martin------Molyneux Antonio----Hammond----Schniederlin----Lallana Waigo------Wotton---------James--------Holmes Thomson----Gillett---------McNish-------Gobern ------------Barnard------Lambert ------------Connolly-------Saga -----------McClaggon-----White
  7. He's brilliant. A pure Southampton man (From the North)
  8. Really happy for him. Always rated him, and I'm really pleased he's gotten the opportunity, and taken it.
  9. SKY's transfer watch is saying Gradel has handed in a transfer request.... 95% sure he'll go to Leeds - But would LOVE to see him here.
  10. I'm sure a midfielder is on the shopping list. Hopefully Stock.
  11. I'm not sure if this is going to be taken as a positive association, but I've always thought of Barnard as an Ormerod-esque player. Works hard, hassles defenders, and can score at this level. Listen, for 200k, you can't really argue! I'd welcome him onboard.
  12. I'm a fan of Jackson, but I don't think we've had any official link to him at all (Only a report in the one news paper, if i recall correctly). I think it boils down to whether Pards thinks he can do a job for us at a higher level. He's been quoted as saying that he's signed 2 players who he feels can go all the way to the prem with us : Jackson's is going to cost around 1.5m - So unless Pards feels he is TOP class, then I don't think we'll make a move.
  13. I'm 100% certain he wasn't dismissing the deal.... He did say about them being friends, but he also said he wouldn't comment on it. Very good chance of this happening, i feel.
  14. Puncheon's a top player at this level. If we ever lost Lallana, i'd sign him in a heartbeat as his replacement. Good from set pieces too. I think we'd have a chance of getting him unless MK Don's get promoted this season.
  15. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5871102,00.html Would this make a loan move for Vokes more possible?
  16. Not sure - I thought it was that local London website, who's name escapes me at the moment.
  17. If he failed a medical, we just would've come out and said that. Something doesn't quite tie-up. As of Saturday, Pards said on Solent about the player that was elsewhere that wasn't in the team, who could come in and do a job for us. That was obviously Ward. Obviously Cortese pulled the plug for some reason. Did we decide we'd be paying him too much? - It's the only thing I can think of. I don't believe that we thought Seaborne is the better signing.
  18. +1 I thought the same too!
  19. Interesting. Solent got the Ward news correct, but seriously got their Pericard news wrong. We seem to be changing our targets alot at the mo!
  20. I agree, he'd be just what we need. A different dimension up front. Pressure is there all the time, but pressure is always easier to deal with when you have fantastic footballers in your team!
  21. It won't, because Gillingham have already said they'd want more than £1.5m for him.
  22. Whilst he'd be a superb signing, I was hoping you'd actually heard something, FF. Still, this is the 1st sort of 'official' link to him, as opposed to a few of us going on about it on here!
  23. At least he's still at the club!! What on earth do they do with Portsmouth's scenario on the next edition?!?!
  24. Very true, I mean Thomas came in costing around a million pounds. He sits on the bench most weeks, and is probably on around 7k at week. For a bench warmer to be on that wage in league 1 is probably unheard of! - Thing is, he's never going to get offered that by another club, so he'll stay with us until his contract expires. Saga's a massive drain on wages too, then we have the others who just take up minor wages like Pulis, Moly, Holmes etc.
