I remember giving one of thr Zeebrugge ferry crew members 60p and a worn out silk saints scarf for a bottle of smirnoff which we consumed neat, does anyone remember, I think it was Nick Mason and Roger Waters from Pink Floyd in the main bar on board the ferry? My Floyd loving mate just yelled out at the top of his voice "**** me it's Pink Floyd!" Fair play they came over for a chat and a drink (Smirnoff) and shot off when the weather got really rough and lads were puking as the ferry rolled!! It was carnage! Our coach rolled in to Brussels at 8am and were informed by the police that no Saints fans were allowed in to the town until 5pm, we all gathered our gear together and scattered to the 4 corners of Brussels with 2 cops in hot pursuit (no chance) and a good day on the Belgian Stella was had by all.

"The stadium was ****e and the steps were crumbling under your feet as you jumped up and down." As I found out, got crushed against the fence, decided to leap over the fence and landed on the other side and the step crumbled, I broke my ankle and spent the next 36 hours totally afraid to take my boot off, got back to Southampton and straight up the General for my ankle to be plastered.Won't forget that trip in a hurry! On our coach we managed to get one of our not so wealthy mates to Anderlecht and back without either a passport or a ticket for the game, it was funny at times especially when our coach got boarded by the law to search for booze and he was scrambling on his belly like a snake under the seats, we were all s******ing like schoolkids on an outing, we got him in to the ground by giving him a leg up a tree that overlooked the open stand and he actually jumped from the tree to the outer wall some 10ft away and scrambled over. The previous posters are right about the Manhattan Transfer song, the tannoy played it once then we sang it for what seemed like hours! I particularly remember LMc walking in front of the fence applauding us and the cops rapping the knuckles of the saints fans that were hanging/climbing said fence. Happy days!!

Any substance to whispers that away fans will not allowed by Hants Constabulary to be attending either of THE south coast derby at SMS or at Dogsh*t Park?

So, no immediate announcement of pricing, installment plans etc. Thought the club would have struck while the iron is hot so to speak, with all the 'extra' fans in on sat I think the longer they wait the more new potential STH's will lose interest. So will it be fri or mon then? Preferably this month would be nice!!

What's your very first memory of a Saints game?

V Aston Villa first season in Div 1, Sept 1966/67 season, stood at the front wall of the Archers rd terrace, we won 6-2, I seem to remember big Ron scoring 4 and Chivers 2? Absolutely hooked from there on in. -
I am strangely intrigued by this tie, is anyone else? Also does anyone have access to internet betting site to post the match odds? I really fancy Shaktar's chances in this tie and might be tempted to have a flutter.

And the winning number is?????

Agree pretty much with what everyone has posted so far, we do seem to lack that killer touch or guile. I thought Walsall put a lot of sterling effort into their defending which at times bordered on the incredulous, but still the chances went begging. Going to bed now for a sulk!!

Thanks Mark.

I also bought two tickets at lunchtime, got row J block H11, was told the same thing "as it comes". I'm pleased with row J as last season I had row C, the first row after the covered unused seats behind Bart's goal. Happy days, anyone know what time The Saddlers Club opens up?
-
Thanks for that, I have just called the t/o and they have the remaining tickets at the t/o and the remainder from today will be on the travel club coach for sale later tomorrow at Walsall.
-
So, are there still tickets available? Does anyone know for sure? If not I shall have to call t/o tomorrow to save a wasted journey to St Marys.
