A poor paper these days with terrible editing. They insist on writing an article which is a total mystery until you get to about half way down it too. A very irritating a childish attempt to keep you reading but actually bored the t--s off you... Also continually repeat the same stories twice in the same issue ... Was a tradition in our house for decades - don't buy it now...

Enhanced contracts should be conditional on repayment of increased salary if transfer requests are made before contract is up. These contracts are obviously so fragile they are practically worthless in terms of keeping players unless our club is firm in what a contract means. Doesn't help that we showed such weakness in the case of SRL. This has sent all the wrong messages out to both our players and prospective suitors.... Wake up Board and send out a defiant message! As this hadn't happened apart from a wooly 'the new manager will decide' up to now has brought about this mess. Completely blame the board for not informing it's employees of the plan and thereby ensuring a bright future for them.... The mess they have allowed to happen has left the top players insecure about the future - Why wouldn't they tout around their CVs it's entirely logical....

I wasn't there but agree from watching on the box. AL's position sense wasn't all that either..... He was often too far in advance of the ball when we were attacking giving no outlet to other midfielders... He was often right on the Honduras back four and so very closely marked as a consequence..... He's a very good player but needs to be much less advanced and engage with where he can be passed to more..... Particularly second half ALL was quite poor....

In Premier League terms 4m is peanuts . We have heavily relied on RL this year.... We now need not only to replace him but also recruit a sensible backup too. If we had two other viable replacements in the books fine but WE DONT! There is no way you can dress this atrocious decision up as anything but stupid.

For Christ sake - it's not about the money it's about selling off our players. You cannot pick £9m to play at centre forward....... Lambert has been priceless to us - who cares what the fee is for any of our players within reason.... We had a great opportunity to be a somebody in the Premier League and it's being thrown away!!! Let's be honest a. 'Suitable' replacement for AL would cost as much as we get for him. Also if they were that good they would go to a champions league club. I think we have learnt that even for 15m you don't get much for your money. We are really dreaming if we believe we are going to move on to the next level by flogging off our best players.... Our rhetoric regarding players leaving is contradictory to the empty ambition statements. In reality it is very likely that this club will now chase the short term bottom line and investment in a European challenge will just be just words that placate fans. Selling AL would be similar to Liverpool selling Suarez and saying we are going for the championship next year it wouldn't make sense..... I thought the Kruger interviews were an indictment of where we are heading not a message of expectation based on any evidence or conviction about how we will improve our position. It was nothing more than a rallying call...

Well said. The board are out of their depth here..... God knows who they will appoint but I am fearful.... After last year's building of credibility we are heading for 'little old Southampton' again. Nothing about this episode or the ones to follow allowing players to leave will help this club grow. We are now officially a feeder club to big boys again So we have now lost our chairman, Manager and looks like captain all the space of a few months. That sounds to me like rank poor running of a growing successful club! My vote would be no confidence....in fact it appears to be a complete shambles ...
