  1. Presumably you are talking about the state pension. What about private pensions?? Do they exist in France ?? If so, do people use them ??
  2. Disappointed by the result but would echo the views of others that they were proud of the team. We played well for much of the match. I thought the Liverpool fans were shocking. They got going at the end and once they took the lead but for much of the match they were silent. For fans who are awarded so many plaudits by pundits I thought they were far too quiet.
  3. No. He's an Everton fan.
  4. Ignore him. He wants people to bite and this is another example of it - a pretty pathetic attempt .
  5. 2 relegations whilst on season long loans do not look great on his cv. Think that we can do better.
  6. I thought that you had Sherlock on ignore. How come you can read what he wrote? Perhaps , and this is only a suggestion, you tell porky pies.
  7. Please remind us - What was the nature of the bet ?
  8. I know that it is slightly off key and catty but all during his post match interview I kept on looking at Colin's remarkably smooth unlined face. Remarkable for a 71 year old bloke. Has Colin been indulging with Botox treatment by any chance .... or does he possess the same genes as celebrities like Cher who also do not seem to age ??
  9. It does seem to be the bigger clubs who benefit from the appalling ref decisions. Chelsea at Cardiff today. Man City v Watford a couple of weeks ago are 2 examples of the bigger clubs getting the benefit without mentioning us against Man U and Spurs. VAR is surely the answer. Football has just got to find a way to make the VAR decision making process part of the spectacle in the way that cricket, rugby and tennis have.
  10. Yes but when Deutsche Bank goes bust along with the rest of the European banking system it will all be different. Piano wire salesmen will be making a fortune.
  11. The bestest have got some competition this weekend. London has been awash today with red and white. Sunderland fans have turned Trafalgar Square red and white this evening. Makes TCWTB and the "na na na na" chant look very second rate.
  12. Getting beat by Newcastle (leading by 2 and then f ucking up) will dash Silva's chances of getting manager of the month.
  13. We won't hear from him until the Everton match is over. They are the 5 30 match. The way that game is going, he will be pretty happy.
  14. It would be worth keeping an eye tomorrow on the Man U v Watford match as our friend Stuart Attwell is the ref. He has refereed Man U 4 times this season and has given them 3 penalties. One was against us ... yet he refused our penalty shouts. He first refereed Watford 11 years ago when he gave Reading a phantom goal. He has only refereed them 3 times since - and only once at Vicarage Road. I wonder what he will get up to tomorrow. Watford have clearly refused to accept him as ref in their matches. Could we do the same with the likes of Kevin Friend?
  15. The key will be the question in the confirmatory referendum. Assuming it will be a binary vote will it be May' s deal v No deal or May's deal v No Brexit? With any kind of decent Labour leader it would be May v No Brexit. With that clown in charge of Labour I am not so sure.
  16. It would get through if Labour abstained ... which they say they would do if the vote was put to a confirmatory referendum with the options being May's deal or no Brexit. I think that is the only way forward.
  17. They all criticise May for her negotiating style yet theirs has been appalling. Davis, Raab and Boris have all walked away when the going got too tough for them. Their insistence on a " pure Brexit" and rejection of the WA has gained them nothing and may even lead to no Brexit. They mishandled the vote of confidence in May back before Christmas meaning that she could not be challenged until December 2019. God help us if they get their hands on the tiller.
  18. ... and for some reason we are only going to bother with 6 subs.
  19. One True Brexit's standard bearers stand firm in bonkers battle https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/mar/26/one-true-brexits-standard-bearers-stand-firm-in-bonkers-battle? I wonder if Wes and Jihadi John were there. It sounds right up their street.
  20. The government may be prepared for riots but I am not sure that they would happen. Riots on political issues are not the English way. The authorities also tend to stamp pretty quickly on any kind of civil disobedience - witness the prosecutions of drivers on the recent go slow protest against the Brexit debate. Everything currently is up for grabs and I am fully prepared to be proved wrong but I do not expect to see Brexit inspired riots.
  21. Why are you sneering at "soooo many" white middle class people being on the march ??
  22. So if you are white and middle class you shouldn't go on marches ??? Right on brother ...
  23. During the referendum campaign I often felt that one of the advantages that the Leavers had over Remainers was passion. They really hated the EU. People like Farage, Redwood, Cash etc had spent their entire political lives campaigning against the EU and weren't going to give up this opportunity to convince voters to leave. Remain on the other hand had the likes of Dismal Dave Cameron and gormless Osborne. They gave the impression that they didn't really like the EU but it was sort of better than nothing. There was no passion for the EU amongst Remainers. This weekend's march and the online petition (5.1 million now and still growing, brainbox Mosin if you are reading) are helping to redress the balance. It is the Remainers who now have the passion whilst it is the Leavers who are starting to look insipid. Has anyone else seen the pathetic 200 strong march led by Farage?? Whether this will mean much is the big question. The horse has already bolted and the passion and enthusiasm for the EU may well have come too late to prevent Brexit ..... but what it does do is redress the balance. The UK's relationship with the EU is going to be a live political issue for years to come.
  24. It probably is true and explains a lot of what happened in the January transfer window. Losing Davis, Gabbadini, Hoedt and Cedric make a commercial sense.
  25. We would be above them on goals scored.
