  1. The answer is no and I would suggest that you raise this topic most weeks - not annually. Lol.
  2. That's a good omen for today. In the same way that Mr. Cheerful was wrong about Spurs let's hope that he is wrong about us in the semi. He has been full of doom and gloom about our chances against Chelsea. COYS
  3. I would suggest that another drab season in the Premiership would be much better than a drab season in the Championship. We had plenty of those between 2005 and 2009. ..... and if Callum Slattery, Alfie Jones , Sam Gallagher or any of the other youngsters prove to be any good it will be so annoying to see them picked up by the likes of Brighton , Huddersfield or Bournemouth in the way that Baird and Surman left us.
  4. Oh the championship will be so much fun. Who wants foreign mercenaries like Mane playing for them when they can get mercenaries like Hajto and Licka. It is galling when home grown talent like multi capped England players like Lallana join Champion League teams like Liverpool. Wait until home grown players like Chris Baird get snapped up by the likes of Fulham. Our last championship season was great fun. Even more so with rose tinted glasses. Our previous 4 championship seasons were complete s hyte. Unless we can find another Markus prepared to substantially invest in the team we risk being another so called big club in the championship along with the likes of Villa , Forest , Derby , Leeds etc etc
  5. His latest " gaffe" about Porton Down shows how dangerous the man is. His intervention in the case of that poor woman in prison in Iran was disastrous. The New Statesman may be biased but can anybody seriously dispute the errors that Boris has made ??
  6. Thank God for that. 2 or more Alpine Saints posting on this board would be unbearable .
  7. I used to work with an Arsenal fan. He had had a season ticket at Highbury and often referred to "The Invincibles" from that season when they never got beaten. Football for him was one long struggle. It was no fun supporting a big club. "So what that Arsenal had won the FA Cup . It wasn't the League." "So what that they had won their Champions League group. They were bound to get knocked out in the next round. " Man U fans are not happy at the moment. Out of the Champions League and no hope of winning a trophy this season. Next week they will watch their City rivals win the League by beating them. They are not a happy bunch. Sport often ends in disappointment . There is no guarantee that supporting a big club will make you happy. Get your grandkids supporting the Saints. They will enjoy it more.
  8. It is highly likely that England WILL be going. Prince William and other dignatories may not but the team will.
  9. Honeymoon in Thailand that weekend. Suppose that I could change the wedding. :-)
  10. I will be in Thailand on my honeymoon. I will have had more weddings than Saints have had FA Cup semi finals since 1986. Just my luck to miss this one ... and it will be at Wembley !! The time difference will be a killer if it is a 5.30 kick off.
  11. Thanks. I have just booked as well using them. My h better to have somewhere to go to rather than drive round looking for places to park.
  12. Load of ******** and brain dead were phrases that you used. You then get precious when someone calls you a cretin. Hypochondriac??? More like schizophrenic if you ask me.
  13. I posted something yesterdaybwhich got nothing but abuse from you. Don't give it if you can't take it you princess.
  14. Don't you just love it when a true intellectual with a gift for words tries to persuade you that you are wrong with a cogent well thought out argument.
  15. Of course it is not our fault . But our voice does not get taken into account because we are so constantly negative. ..and we deserve to go down because we have only won 5 games !!! What a joke for a supporter of a team to say that of his team. If we had the same number of points but these had been obtained by fewer draws but mote wins would we then not "deserve" to be relegated???
  16. For several years now I have thought that this forum is far too negative. Match day threads are a joke with all the negativity. Several of our resident trolls seem to delight in misfortune whilst post match threads when we lose and we can wallow in misery are always much longer than when we win. If this forum had existed in 1976 there would have been whining that we beat Man U only 1 nil ! This negativity which at times to me reaches absurd levels (how many forums for other clubs would contain a well subscribed thread reckoning that we deserve to be relegated??) means that anyone from the club who reads this forum can just claim that our views are those of a negative few. You can imagine the conversation Minion: "The Saintsweb had a poll staying that 9x% of people want Pellegrino out." Ralph : "Well they would wouldn't they. How about the realistic fan base? " I want the clown to go. Most fans want him to go. I daresay season ticket renewals next year will not be good but by then it will be too late. What is the most effective way to get the hockey guy to realise that something needs to be done??
  17. Before CB Fry gives one of his pertinent comments. 1/10. Very poor effort. It has been a long hard season. I am sure that you are getting tired. Are you on the beach already? Must try harder.
  18. The feeling after Sunday was the same feeling as after the 1984 defeat. A numbness, disbelief and annoyance that we had not won. It is some time since I have felt that way - the play off defeat at Derby perhaps got close. Having Everton a few days later in the League helped to get over it. We do not have that luxury this time.
  19. It doesn't feel any better this morning. Slightly reminiscent of the feeling after the Everton cup semi defeat in 1984. Still numb. Awoke at 4.00 am with the game going round my head. Proud of the team, proud of our performance, disgusted by the linesman and if only Romeu's header had been a few centimetres wider .... but at the end of the day the record books say that we didn't win the Cup and the plastic Mancs are the happier fans. Why is it always Man United to whom we seem to play so much better than but end up losing - often 3-2 ?? No home game now for over a month. What a shame. Imagine the welcome for the team if we had a match this week. In fact it will be just 2 league games in 7 weeks!!
  20. Often I think that you talk b****ks but this sir, is an excellent post and so true.
  21. The nipper was there and said that after the match the tannoy played "Hey Jude". On TV I could hear the Saints fan singing "Shane Long" and thought that they were singing along to something. Wonder if the decision to play Hey Jude was deliberate on the part of the Liverpool match day tannoy. If so, it was a really nice touch.
  22. Ridiculous isn't it. People actually supporting the team and not moaning!! Who would believe it of supporters??
  23. Its amazing isn't it. Makes you wonder why we didn't save on the travel costs and just give them the 3 points.
  24. Couldn't you ask for an umpire's review and get HawkEye to ajudicate on whether Turkey Street is allowed??
  25. I will have a large suitcase with me. I am going to America next week on holiday and am flying to Copenhagen from New Orleans. I hope the trains don't charge excess baggage!!
