Another possible reason why the clown is still with us
Tamesaint replied to Tamesaint's topic in The Saints
Of course it is not our fault . But our voice does not get taken into account because we are so constantly negative. ..and we deserve to go down because we have only won 5 games !!! What a joke for a supporter of a team to say that of his team. If we had the same number of points but these had been obtained by fewer draws but mote wins would we then not "deserve" to be relegated??? -
For several years now I have thought that this forum is far too negative. Match day threads are a joke with all the negativity. Several of our resident trolls seem to delight in misfortune whilst post match threads when we lose and we can wallow in misery are always much longer than when we win. If this forum had existed in 1976 there would have been whining that we beat Man U only 1 nil ! This negativity which at times to me reaches absurd levels (how many forums for other clubs would contain a well subscribed thread reckoning that we deserve to be relegated??) means that anyone from the club who reads this forum can just claim that our views are those of a negative few. You can imagine the conversation Minion: "The Saintsweb had a poll staying that 9x% of people want Pellegrino out." Ralph : "Well they would wouldn't they. How about the realistic fan base? " I want the clown to go. Most fans want him to go. I daresay season ticket renewals next year will not be good but by then it will be too late. What is the most effective way to get the hockey guy to realise that something needs to be done??

Liverpool 0-0 Saints - Match & Reactions Thread
Tamesaint replied to Heisenberg's topic in The Saints
Before CB Fry gives one of his pertinent comments. 1/10. Very poor effort. It has been a long hard season. I am sure that you are getting tired. Are you on the beach already? Must try harder. -
The feeling after Sunday was the same feeling as after the 1984 defeat. A numbness, disbelief and annoyance that we had not won. It is some time since I have felt that way - the play off defeat at Derby perhaps got close. Having Everton a few days later in the League helped to get over it. We do not have that luxury this time.

It doesn't feel any better this morning. Slightly reminiscent of the feeling after the Everton cup semi defeat in 1984. Still numb. Awoke at 4.00 am with the game going round my head. Proud of the team, proud of our performance, disgusted by the linesman and if only Romeu's header had been a few centimetres wider .... but at the end of the day the record books say that we didn't win the Cup and the plastic Mancs are the happier fans. Why is it always Man United to whom we seem to play so much better than but end up losing - often 3-2 ?? No home game now for over a month. What a shame. Imagine the welcome for the team if we had a match this week. In fact it will be just 2 league games in 7 weeks!!

Often I think that you talk b****ks but this sir, is an excellent post and so true.

The nipper was there and said that after the match the tannoy played "Hey Jude". On TV I could hear the Saints fan singing "Shane Long" and thought that they were singing along to something. Wonder if the decision to play Hey Jude was deliberate on the part of the Liverpool match day tannoy. If so, it was a really nice touch.

Ridiculous isn't it. People actually supporting the team and not moaning!! Who would believe it of supporters??
-
Its amazing isn't it. Makes you wonder why we didn't save on the travel costs and just give them the 3 points.

Couldn't you ask for an umpire's review and get HawkEye to ajudicate on whether Turkey Street is allowed??
-
Exactly.

I suppose that £100.11 would be a five figure sum but I doubt that is the case. I thought that there were transfer embargoes in place that stiopped the plucky few from spending monet on transfer fees. When was this embargo lifted?
-
Course they should but you know how the FA hate them. They give them refs who get intimidated by the Nottarf atmosphere and do not disallow all opposition goals. If there was ever a club ill treated by the FA it is Pompey.

A pity that Corp is no longer with us. (Perhaps his new job doesn't allow him to read the internet). He could tell us why Maradona turned the job down and they went for Cooky.
