  1. The bookies have them at 16/1 for relegation..... and they are as low as 9/1 for promotion. Something not right there!!
  2. I am not sure about mid table mediocrity. There seems to be many strugglers in that league who have a bit of something about them. For example Accrington had an awful start to the season but are now pullimg themselves out of the mire. Northampton are rock bottom but they reached the play off final last year, have changed their manager and could easily get out of trouble. The Skates's lack of respect for the division which they are in could easily see them not appreciating that they are in a relegation battle until it is too late.
  3. My thoughts as well. He could have chosen a better time and at least finished the series. The Sydney pitch is often a spinner's paradise. I would have thought he could have waited and retired on a high after that match - or is he also mentally shot and doesn't believe that he is up to it any more??
  4. Name names. Who were these "forum visionairies" ??
  5. I reckon that Mush needs some sort of award for tryinjg to educate the particularly stupid.
  6. Spurs may be a bigger club than us but they are nowhere near as big a club as their fans think they are. They haven't won the league for over 50 years. I cannot remember the last time that they came close to winning it - but many Spurs fans always think that next year will be their year. Spurs fans are the north London equivalent of the Skates when it comes to delusion. Trying to satisfy the demands of these fans must be one of the most thankless tasks in football - so for no other reason I think that MP is unlikely to leave us for Spurs.
  7. I couldn't agree more. You have to respect the league you are in. Whatever league you are playing in is the correct league for you. If you learn this lesson I believe that you enjoy your football a lot more. Personally it was only towards the end of our third season in the Championship that I came to realise that we were in that league for a reason - and that reason was that we were not good enough for the Prem. Until then we were a team that was bound to get back to its rightful place. For a long time I thought it was only Redknapp being a c ock / dodgy Billy Davies / bad luck in the play off semi final / Paul Allen not coming up with the goods etc etc that stopped us getting back up in the Premiership. After all we had been to a recent cup final. We didn't deserve to play "little" clubs like Burnley and Hull - they were a lot smaller than us even though Burnley and Hull made it up to the Premiership long before we did ! I think it was our last day win against Sheffield United that made me realise that we had no good given right to be in the top tier. We were not very good. We were not heading back to the Premiership . We needed to work hard & to respect the League we were in. I found that with respect came enjoyment. All of a sudden it is not a disaster to "only draw away" at places like Wycombe. Victory against Dagenham and Redbridge tastes sweet - even though it is "only" Dagenham and Redbridge. As others have said, I have some great memories of our time in League 1 - even of the " Double Dutch year." Until the skates learn the same lesson and start to show some respect for the League in which they are in , they will not be able to go forward.
  8. It was not meant as an abusive post. I am sorry that you have taken it that way. It was really meant as a bit of advice. I apprecate that it is hard on you to disappear for a short time .... but even you must admit that your posting style is on the aggressive, sarcastic side. If you were to take a break from here you could then not be blamed for disrailing so many posts. People may start to respect your opinions more!! I would miss some of your contributions if you were to take a short sabbatical. You are clearly intelligent and sometimes you put the finger straight onto the relevant part of a thread. Sometimes you act like a complete pr att . Its up to you .... but you undoubtedly do seem to attract a lot of flack and the way that things are going you are going to be spending all your time on here writing "its not my fault " posts like these this morning.
  9. So in other words it is not your fault but a lot of people on here think you are an arrogant, sarcastic t**ser who brings the kiss of death to so many threads. According to you it is not your fault but you seem to be in a minority with that opinion. Perhaps you should do the honourable thing and walk away for a few weeks. Let the "mongs" on the "mong board" get on with their "mongism." Perhaps the board will improve . Perhaps it won't. But at least you will not then be blamed when people say that threads have been derailed.
  10. After the first match of the season I had a couple of cheeky bets on them being relegated (7/1) and finishing bottom (20/1). I had rarely seen such a lacklustre team at the start of the season as WBA on that day. The subsequent purchase of the likes of Sessegnon seemed to sort out that problem but perhaps those bets are not the waste of money they seemed to be a couple of months ago.
  11. Anybody who writes as well as you do sir, can exist wherever he wants.
  12. Rallyboy has been rumbled!!

    MPs' pay

I agree . Pay peanuts and you get monkeys. £68k or whatever they currently get paid is not necessarily peanuts but top people can earn much more than that so why would they want to enter politics?

    MPs' pay

I think that you will find that at the next General Election there will be several people in each constituency who want the MP's job!! Mind you, I agree fully with what you are saying. I agree that MPs are very under paid.
  15. ... and right on cue "jamie" comes wading in to support his mate Turkish. Do you guys have some sort of alarm system ... "Help . I am getting a kicking on the Saints Web. Come to my rescue!!" We just need that great brain CB Fry to make an aopearance and then it will be confirmation that Turkish is getting a kicking.
  16. Quite easily - because by your own admission you ignore apartheid. Cherry picking events that suit your argument and ignoring the wider picture makes your views at best laughable and at worst racist.
  17. You keep using that analogy of the head in the sand. I think you are losing on here. You need to find another forum for your views. Go on , go up to Speakers corner and try to convince people there. You might find people who will listen to you without laughing ..... there won't be many but there may be some. Go on.go up there.
  18. There used to be an old boy at Speakers Corner who reckoned that he was the Sun God and that he controlled the sun. You should find him, stand next to him and explain to the world why we should ignore apartheid when judging Mandela. He wouldn't look quite so odd then.
  19. The nearest tube to Speakers Corner is Marble Arch. It is on the Central Line. Why don't you pop along there and give the world your views ??? I am sure that if you go there for long enough you willl find a few people who will believe in what you say. You will probably find that most people will laugh at you .... but then you will be used to that from your posts here on the Saints Web.
  20. Some nice words there .... but how on earth does Cork only get a 5/10???
  21. Oh I see. We shoud judge Mandela completely out of context to his time and what was happening in his country when he was alive. It is certainly a bit of a strange view of history. Your views on the second world war must be interesting. Going by your logic, that Churchill was a bit of a nutter wasn't he?? Many more Germans were killed by his actions than South Africans were killed by the ANC. Was he a war criminal?? As for that von Stauffenburg who tried to assassinate Hitler - well he was nothing but an out and out terrorist. People were nearly killed by his bomb!!! This forum does come up with nonsense but writing the number of posts that you have on this thread (how many has it been ? - 50??) whilst trying to ignore apartheid is undoubtedly a prize winner.
  22. Clearly you are the only voice singing in the wilderness. Never mind. I am sure that oneday somebody will come round to your way of thinking. You just have to be patient. I tell you what - you should go to London and stand on Speakers Corner. It is full of odd people spouting their views. It is always a good place for a laugh. You would fit in well there. Oh by the way.Does your grubby little racist site have any views on Sharpeville? Or doesn't that matter because it was 69 blacks that were killed by the South African police. If we are going to trade website allegations , what are your views on the information on this website http://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2013-03-08-jacques-pauw-on-vlakplaas-apartheid-assassin-dirk-coetzee/ ... and before I go to bed for the night perhaps you could give Verbal a more considered reply than to be told that he is a lunatic. He asked some pertinent questions which deserve an answer ... and we all know that you like questions to be answered don't we.
  23. I am getting worried about you Turkish. Last night you took exception to a derogatory statement that I made about Nick Griffin. Today you have displayed an unhealthy knowledge of some racist websites. I would defend your right to have extreme right wing views .... but people with those views deserve the names that wade garrett gave you.
  24. Another intelligent response. Getting really rattled now aren't you Turkish. LOL.
