I have just started pilates. I am not quite sure of the difference between that and yoga but I would definitely recommend pilates. I couldn't find a class that fitted my schedule so I have been following a DVD. The danger is that I am not following the exercises properly and do not have a tutor to correct me. The plus side is that nobody else hears me fart!!

Interesting. I am 60 miles south of Brum and need to decide in the next 20 mins whether to go or not. No snow here yet but we will get what you are having.

Apparently Porky Penny is going to ask Cameron to sack the Met Office at Wednesday' PMQ's. Its not fair for plucky Pompey to have their match called off when 100,000 were planning on Filling the Park. What is the point of a Met Office if it cannot guarantee decent weather?

They are going to be all right. I have heard from a reputable source that Tescos are going to give them £20 million for land that they don't even own. Well that source was Corporate Ho and it is my nomination for most ridiculous Skate comment on this thread - there is certainly a lot of competition for this award!!

A well written article and it describes why many Saints fans do not want to see them go pop. A long, slow , painful death for Pompey is so enjoyable to watch when compared to a phoenix club. The article may be well written but surely it is deluded. The writer mentions them playing Aldershot and Luton in the near future. They should be so lucky. A pheonix club would surely start in the Wessex league - not div 2 (Aldershot) or the Conference (Luton). Perhaps the writer thinks that Porky Penny will get the PM to pleadd for them.

Went to StAndrews to see Saints v Brum back in the mid '80's.It was the last match of the season and whilst we were in the top half of the table, Brum needed to avoid defeat to ensure they stayed up. My then brotheer inlaw was a Brum season ticket holder and I went with him and his mates. Saints ended up winning and Brum were relegated. The journey home was not a happy one!! Good job my sister divorced him shortly after!!

He's on Facebook if you want to find him. He can't be all bad - he likes Staffordshire Bull Terriers.

Fantastic. Another pet skate on here. The old ones have gone a bit quiet lately. I wonder why.

They showed a clip of Justin Fashanu playing against Saints. I never realised that Nick Holmes was Dan Harding's dad.

The 5th Round Draw - Bolton at home (if we beat Millwall!)
Tamesaint replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Fantastic draw. We avoided the big guns - for the time being. We avoided the banana skins. A bad result against Stevenage or Crawley with the publicity that would come with it would seriously upset our morale. We are at home. We can win it which would mean that we would be 90 minute away from Wembley. No disgrace in losing to a Prem club - if we lose. We have to beat Millwall first and I wouldn't fancy a replay at the Reebok but I feel that we could do something in the Cup this year!! -
If Pompey go pop, what will happen to this thread? What will I do with the extra hour I will have each day if this thread was to stop? Perhaps we could still get our favourite toy salesman to give us the news from his friend he sees socially every 2 weeks or so. We will all enjoy the laugh.

Perhaps that is what Rosie Ho was referrring to yesterday. Maybe Tescos have a psychological desire to give the Skates £20 million for land they do not own.

Today must qualify as one of the best ever for comedy value on this thread. First we had sussexsaint's rendition of the the joker (or JoCa). "Some people call me a Skate cowboy....." Pure genius. Then we had old Rosie Ho coming out with gems like Tescos are going to give PFC £20 million for land that they do not even own. Pure comedy gold. Then to cap it all we have MLG's Spurs team sheet. Absolutely brilliant. Can this all ever be bettered????

According to something on her website she is a fundraiser for several local and national charities. I wonder if she also banks the money herself that she collects or whether she passes it on to the charities.

That's convenient. The KitMan's initials are KM. The MAnager's initials are MA.I suppose this is what you have to do when you are based in a dump like Portsmouth where education standards areso low.

He could have done but Steve is a fan of Staffordshire Bull Terriers whilst Harry prefers bulldogs.

I agree with the OP. What is the point of producing excellent youngsters if you are too scared to give them an outing in the first team? This seems to have been a problem for us for several years now. From memory, didn't Saggy go out and borrow Calamity Davenport rather than play Matt Mills? That turned out well didn't it. Similarly Burley only trusted Crainie with a starting spot in the play offs when he was down to the bare bones. No wonder so many of our youngsters go off to other clubs feeling there is no way forward for them at St Marys. In addition to Mills and Cranie, players like Blackstock and Leon Best spring to mind as those who have gone on to prove themselves elsewhere after we failed to give them the chance to progress with us. We nurture their talent but don't give them the opportunities to progress. Lets hopewe don't make the same mistakes with the likes of JWP , Hoskins and Jack Stephens.

Having viewed the inhabitants of Portsmouth on December 18th from the top deck of a double decker bus and having read the most recent offering from pfc 123, it surely has to be Shameless
-
Yes it is.

I wonder where our favourite toy salesman has gone. I would have thought he would have been able to keep us informed as to what is going on at the club. I suppoe he is busy working. After all mid January must be one of the busiest times of the year for the toy market.
-
Oh thats all right then. I suppose this thread will be shut in a couple of days as there will be nothing untoward going on in Pompey.
-
Nah. It can't be. Its Friday. Nothing happens on fridays.

Going with my 12 yr old nephew who lives in Brum but supports the Saints. He has a hard time up there supporting the Saints so for his sake we need a good win.

Ask your wife or girlfriend to name saints players.....
Tamesaint replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
I asked. She didn't know any. On pressing she came up with MLT and "that tall, lanky one". I think she meant Peter Crouch - not Oscar Gobern.
