  1. 30 years ago I think this may have been the case. Nowadays however the "big" Premiership clubs are so far up the ar s e of the Champions League that there is no way that they would appoint someone who has not enjoyed success in the Portuguese third division or the Italian tiddlywinks league. How can Liverpool possibly appoint someone who has not even appeared on a Sky pundits panel??
  2. When we played theem a few years ago and drew 1-1, the stewarding was shocking. Yhe stewards were xausing problems and were picking fights with supporters. They do not seem to have changed.
  3. LOL.That really is funny.
  4. Adrian Heath. Need I say any more?
  5. Too bl88dy right. The bed wetters on here defy belief.
  6. Agree entirely. Stick together and we win this league - its as simple as that.
  7. I have just woken up having dreamt that Jose missed the game as he has just gone out on loan to Stoke. Pullis was quite open in my dream that he was trying to disrupt our promotion bid. God knows why.
  8. plus 1
  9. No way would HMRC support this proposal.
  10. Mrs Tame says that I am obsessed but I find that I look at the table 4 times a day. (She BTW now knows another Saints player to add to her knowledge of MLT and "that tall lanky one"- Adam Milana) Early in the morning sets up the day nicely. A couple of times during the day sees me get through work OK and then one more check before bedtime to make sure that we are still top. Tonight of course, the table will change after Wham play. That may upset the routine a little.
  11. We were far too good for the Championship in 2005. We would walk that league
  12. Come on Dalek. You can do a lot better than that. (hint) Does the number 17 mean anything to you?
  13. The fact of the matter is that Pompey don't seem to have a clue how to bring on their young talent. They are so concerned with paying big wages to "star" names that they have no idea how to develop their own. The folly of their policy towards their youth team is summed up by the examples of Matt Ritchie and Marlon Pack. At the recent Football League awards Matt Ritchie from Swindon won the League 2 award . He is 22 years old. Marlon Pack from Cheltenham was nominated for the League 2 player. He is 20. Both were academy players with Pompey before being released. Pack played just 1 game for them. Ritchie played 7 games for the first team. Both of these youngsters must have talent to have picked up these accolades. Most clubs tend to encourage youth to develop. Did these two get this chance at Pompey ? Would they have been cheaper than some of the "super stars" they have recently acquired ? Could they have done a worse job on the field ? The strange Pompey mindset of "sod the youth, lets play 30 plus has beens on big money " meant that they had to go elsewhere to develop. Next season Ritchie will be in the same division as Pompey (provided they last that long!) Apparently Swindon even rejected a £500k bid for him earlier this season. £500k would surely have been most handy now for Pompey whilst they wait for the £20 million from Tescos that Ho told us about !! It makes you wonder what would have happened if Skate Chamberlain had encouraged his son Alex to go to Pompey instead of us. I guess that he would have been kept out of the first team by Liam Lawrence!!
  14. Apparently we are 1 /6 (six to one on) with Betfred to get promoted. To non gamblers that means a pretty nailed on certainty. I feel confident of promotion .... but not 1/6 confident! The same bookie has us evens for the title.
  15. I was looking for my Jack Russell on sand dunes at a beach in Wales. He had the scent of rabbits and had gone awol. The plan had been for a quick walk to be back in time to follow the match on Saints Player. Returned with the dog to hear we had won 3-2. Didn't know what the fuss was about!
  16. I got 14/1 after the Leeds game. My stake came from getting the Leeds 3-1 scoreline correct ...so I am playing with their money - not mine!
  17. My name is Corporate Ho. I am 40 and play around with dolls. I also play with children's toys whan at work. I live in Portsmouth in a huge house. You lot would be pig sick if you were to see the size of the mansion that I live in on Portsmouth caravan park. Tescos have already offered me £ 20 million for it. Mind you, they sent me their deposit by post and when I opened the envelope there was no money inside. I am not a Saint but a Pompey skate. Me and Maradona are ambassadors for Portsmouth Football Club. Riquelme is about to sign for us so I am sure that we will be OK. i have a friend who is high up at Pompey and I see him socially every couple of weeks and he tells me all the latest gossip. Everything is fine at Fratton Park. The press has just got it in for us. With a bit of luck we should still be able to make the play offs this year. My sister says that I am a fantasist. I am proud that she thinks that I am that good at fantasy football. Pompey till I die.
  18. I think that we are coming known as the "Ricky Lambert team" by lazy journalists and the tw*ts who run the likes of Talk Sh**e. The Mirror's review of Tuesday night even took the angle that Ricky is in line for an international call up. I expect that there will be more comments like "Ricky Lambert who else " whenever we are mentioned. His goalscoring record and his size mean that he is seen as just a big goalscoring centre forward. Last year we were known as the Oxlade Chamberlain team. The fact that hedidn't really come through until mid October and he missed the run in didn't really matter. Everyone knew that we were f**ked when he was sold .... and that under estimation was a major reason for this season's flying start.
  19. 53. Started supporting Saints as a kid when we lived in Netley. My first game was meant to have been in September 1965 v Wolves but I misbehaved so we didn't go. Saints won 9-3!! Shortly after that we moved to Bristol, then Plymouth, then Brum but it didn't matter as I was a Saint. Now live in Thame , Oxfordshire and have been a season ticket holder ever since Saint Mary's opened.
  20. I agree with Alps. Until the middle of December we had been behind for a grand total of just 5 minutes at home. (Forest for a minute and Hull for 4 minutes). How can we show our fightback qualities if we don't let the opposition score more often ??? Adkins out!!
  21. Just got back after spending the weekend in Ponty with friends. Watched the game with Leeds fans in the South Stand behind the goal which we attacked in the second half. Our fans sounded great where I sat. Loud and proud and they really got behind the lads in the second half. The neanderthals sitting around me were quite amusing. Did you know that Lambert is a " F***ing useless C*nt?" or that they "don't give a f*ck" that we are top of the league?? Their comments as the game went on about our luck were similarly priceless.
  22. It wouldn't surprise me if TB tries to nip the AA "let me and Chinny come back and save the club* campaign in the bud. Expect to see some details of the worst excesses from the previous regime getting released to the press. Expect to hear stories such as how Chinny / AA supplied TCWTB with his own personal supply of hedgehogs or how there was a club season ticket for the Horton Heath establishment.
