  1. You have a bit of a problem with the idea of 50k stadiums, CL football don't you?? You keep banging on about it - that's the second time today that you have brought it up in completely unrelated threads. For your sake it had better not happen, I doubt if you would be able to cope.
  2. Perhaps sunny jim, you can point me in the direction of the post which says that we are a super club going to be European champiions in a 50,000 seater stadium. Oh and at the same time point me in the direction of any posts when you and delldays have said anything positive about the team you support.
  3. An elderly couple, who were both widowed, had been going out with each other for a long time. Urged on by their friends, they decided it was finally time to get married. Before the wedding, they went out to dinner and had a long conversation regarding how their marriage might work. They discussed finances, living arrangements and so on. Finally, the old gentleman decided it was time to broach the subject of their physical relationship. "How do you feel about sex?" he asked, rather tentatively. "I would like it infrequently," she replied. The old gentleman sat quietly for a moment, adjusted his glasses, leaned over towards her and whispered - "Is that one word or two?"
  4. Delldays predicting us to finish above West Ham ?? Do me a favour. You don't expect Delldays to say anything positive about us do you?? I firmly expect him to think that we will finsih 21st out of 20. Anyone who dares to think anything positive about Saints is immediately rounded up by him, and Turkish, taken outside and shot!!
  5. You cannot criticise Turkish without Delldays sticking up for him. Don't you know its one of the rules on this board. Wherever Turkish goes, Delldays follows.
  6. Morecambe is on the Lancashire coast. Eric Bartholomew came from there and used the town's name in his stage name. On the sea front at Morecombe there is a statue of Eric doing his famous one hand behind his ear dance. We have never played Morecombe in the league and will be scrapping the barrel to explain why they would not like us. Can you come up with better reasons for Oxford and AFC Wimbledon?
  7. Morecombe - They had Eric but we had Tommy Cooper AND Benny Hill Oxford - A few years ago webeat them in apreseason friendly on a penalty shootoutand won a trophy from them. AFC Wimbledon - When they were big boys wesent them down
  8. What and let Turkish and his chums get away with their negativity being unchallenged? You must be joking.
  9. Delldays hasn't posted since I made my observation. It might be worth making a similar comment on every thread on this forum if it has that effect.
  10. Has anyone else noticed that as soon as Turkish posts, Delldays posts immediately afterwards. I wonder if they are related - or perhaps Turkish is such a nice boy that he likes a sailor. ;-);-0
  11. Corp Ho seems to have gone on one of his self imposed exiles from the board. To show the old toy boy that he is being missed perhaps we could get together a list of his funniest pronouncements. Which one is our favourite? If we could get together a list of the funniest we could see if the mods would allow us a poll. Perhaps we could even have an award for the best one. The *Saintsweb pig sick award" has a certain ring to it. I know that competition is great & that there are many contenders. Who can forget the Maradona moment? Riquelme will never be the same again in my eyes. My personal favourite ,however, and my nomination for the award was the claim that Tescos would pay Pfc £20 million for Nottarf Krap. Many stand up comedians would pay a fortune for material like that. Does anyone have any other nominations?
  12. I agree - the biggest problem with this story
  13. We got 28k to see Man U reserves in the Cup 2 years ago. It cost many people £57 for that game and the match was on terrestial TV. A sellout for the match v Man U will be a formaity - as will the Chelsea / Citeh / Liverpool / Arsenal matches.
  14. We sell out twice next season? Is that a sensible hypothesis ?? FFS We sold out when we were at home to Exeter in League 1. Are you suggesting that Man U / Man City / Chelsea / Arsenal etc will only generate 2 sellouts next season - even at £50 a pop ?? What a strange world you live in.
  15. Blind loyalty maybe but also look at the win stats which shows Adkins to have done better than Pardew. Throw in the facts that Adkins won 2 promotions on the spin. The first was after taking over a team in mid September in 20th position whilst the second came in a season where we were never out of the top 2. I don't want to decry Pardew who did a lot of good for us but Nigel 's achievements are immense. Nigel's successes have been accompanied with a great style of football. If nothing else, Plan B does exist for Nigel when it was often non existent for Pardew. We are very lucky to have Nigel as our manager.Pardew was good for us but I much prefer Adkins.
  16. Or perhaps we should just build a bigger stadium and keep the customer satisfied.
  17. As this thread is now apparently over itis a shame that you don't see the need to elaborate further.
  18. How do you know that the thread is over? Do you finally admit that you were wrong ?? The jump from Championship to Premiership is large. The attention that the Premiership gets from the media (international not just UK) is huge and I would have thought we would easily attract an extra 8,000 fans who did not want to see the likes of Barnsley, Doncaster or Peterborough but would jump at the chance of seeing some of the household names who make up the Premiership. In addition there will be at least another couple of thousand extra away fans next season.
  19. Do you really think that we wouldn't find an extra 8,000 fans in the Premiership? Do you really?
  20. would you care to elaborate?
  21. I knew several people who couldn't get tickets for West Ham at home , for Pompey or for Coventry. What does that say? Next.
  22. Not 20,000 extra fans now. But an increase to capacity allowing an extra 6,000 fans now and future plans for more is not particulatrly freakish.
  23. Little did they know that 32,5k was the magic number. It is plainly obvious to some of the more enlightened souls on this thread that it is written in the laws of the universe that Southampton Football Club will never be able to justify a stadium with more than that as the capacity.
