Unfortunately in true 19C style he had to get a couple of digs in on his latest obsession - MLT.... and the majority of the replies to his original posting now relate to MLT. I just think that the bloke wants attention. I feel sorry for him and for anyone else who suffers from the same affliction as him. If he had wanted to open up a debate on the expectations of our supporters he would not have had the dig at MLT. A pity really because there is a lot of good stuff in the original post.

Its good that the important matters of life get debated on this forum. I agreebut with your comments (despite knowing nothing about trains) think we should still play the game - despite them making such a crass mistake. Could you summarise your views on their crest into a pithy, witty song that we could all sing at the Swindon fans?? Thanks

The trouble is that there are now 2 threads on this subject. To follow the complete debate on this subject you need to flip betweeb this forum and the lounge. For reasons best known to himself, Ponty decided to move the other thread to the lounge. ( He did try to justify his strange decision but have you ever heard Ponty say that he is wrong ?? No I thought not.). The likelihood of a good debate on this subject is low when you have 2 different threads in two separate forums.

He makes some valid points.... but he has made them before and doubtless will again and again. He loves the affect that slagging off one of our true legends has on the majority of Saints fans. And in true 19C / Sundance style he goes completely over the top. Apparently showing some appreciation of MLT's presence is a kick in the teeth to Cortese, Liebherr etc !! That is well OTT. He loves to cause discord and whilst we are trying to build an united fanbase I think that we can do without his divisive views.

Don't get so worked up about him. Speculator is the new name for Nineteen Canteen which was the new name of Sundance Beast which was the name of Flashman at the Charge which was the new name of the the Fourth Bear. The bloke keeps changing names more often than most people change their shirt. Don't encourage him to change his name again!! The poor bloke has some sort of mental problem. He has admitted it himself. He has to come up with a contrary opinion about most people / events and this is just his latest attempt to stir up controversy. Read what he says and move on. Reacting to it just gives him the limelight that he desires.

It was a hot day yesterday but even so our lack of fitness certainly became apparent as the game wore on. We were out on our feet for the last 10 minutes or so and I wish that I had a £ for every time that I saw one of our players bending over with their hands on their knees looking knackered. It was equally hot for both teams and certainly Millwall did not see to be afflicted the same way.

Typical skate - can't count. Seven years takes us back to 2002/3. That season saw the Skates in the fizzy pop with us at the Cup Final and ending up eigth in the Prem. The biggest shock is you trying to claim that the recent hiccup in the natural order of things started 7 years ago!!

Well we didn't win the first match of the season... but we never do. I have supported Saints since the end of the 60's. In that time I can only remember 3 victories on the first day of the season. We beat Coventry away 1-0 about 10 years ago, we beat West Ham in the late 80's under Nicholl and I think we beat West Brom in the season we went on to win the Cup. Have there been any other opening day victories that I have missed? Does any other club have such an appalling first day record as us??

I used to discuss this (in the pub of course) on a regular basis with a friend who is a Birmingham fan. We decided that it would have to be 1 of the Big four. Like me, he knows the frustrations of not being a glory supporter, of having all the plastics take the mick. of losing more matches than you win etc etc. Normally you just acquire your team by a process of osmosis and you can never change. If Saints were to disappear & I could choose a team we agreed that there was no point in choosing to support a proper football team like saints (or in his case Brum) - I might as well choose to be a glory hunting supporter of one of the Big 4. It couldn't be Arsenal - because they have not won anything for yonks and yonks and yonks and what is the point of being a glory supporter if you don't win anything? When we lived in Liverpool (both of us went to uni there) we tended to watch Everton & not Liverpool so it could not be them. Chelsea could well go bust if Roman were to leave... and having lived through 1 administration I couldn't bear to go through another. ManU have carp fans who everyone hates so I couldn't support them. so in the end it was a good job that it was all just hypothetical.

Here's a good bet. Most firms are offering c 4/1 on Pompey being relegated. Apparently they were 6/1 but for some reason their odds are shortening!! But you can get 10/1 on Pompey being bottom at Christmas with Bet 365. I reckon thats a cracker!!!! .
